@scaryb – No – I didn’t catch that. Sounds very interesting.
I’ve hung out in the Beano script dept. and it is the most desolate atmosphere on Earth. (The writers have probably taken a vow of silence so that they can think of new stories every week…)
24 October 2013 at 22:20 #19244I’ve just realised that I’ve got a choice of local cinemas to see TDOTD – ”I can’t stand the confusion in my mind!”
24 October 2013 at 21:56 #1924224 October 2013 at 21:50 #19241@craig – Thanks for the medal! (You deserve one too, btw… thanks again for all your hard work.)
24 October 2013 at 21:32 #19237There is a lot of Dr Who action in Dundee (Scotland) this weekend. As part of the Dundee Comics Conference.
Saturday will feature some special guests including legendary Dr Who writer Steve Parkhouse (Voyager) & current Who artist Dan McDaid.
There will be a presentation by storyboard artist Andrew Wildman on a sequence from TBOSJ – ‘Hurtling to disaster with Doctor Who’ (£5.50 charge). You must be at least 8 years old!
Sunday will host Parkhouse & McDaid, along with legendary Who artist John Ridgway (Voyager), former Who artist Simon Furman & a few other guests from other sci fi comics – esp. 2000AD (£15 charge).
I will be attending on the Saturday (I’ll be the 40 year old bloke surrounded by 8 year olds!) but I’m not sure about the Sunday.

Dr Who gets everywhere…23 October 2013 at 19:26 #19156@jimthefish – The console in the 50 yrs teaser is (as you mentioned) virtually the 4th Dr’s. It seems to be the one that’s in the ‘crystal ball’ which begs the question:
‘If it’s a new creation, why make it like no. 4’s, to be shown with Dr 3 (Unless that Pertwee/Delgado one’s supposed to be the Master’s TARDIS)?’
As for the 8th’s console, you’re right. This guy bought it:
For those who are unaware of the various different TARDIS ‘desktops’:

Behind the scenes of the Sydney Doctor Who Projection earlier this year.22 October 2013 at 11:15 #1902622 October 2013 at 11:03 #19022I’m really surprised that yesterday was described as ‘mad boring policeman hysteria day’.
No giant theory (necessarily) connected to the P.C.s identity. All I’m saying is that (instantly to me) he looks exactly like John Hurt (maybe I can get past his perception filter). Pertwee & Delgado don’t look much like themselves & nobody’s suggesting that they’re not meant to be them.
Looks like I’m all alone in this view. I’m genuinely shocked. Oh well, all’s fair in visual perception. But…
One day we shall find out… yes… one day. Then either you’ll all have to eat your words or I’ll have to eat my own beard…….
Try not to take too much pleasure if I’m wrong and I end up choking to death.

Left: Killgarrah The Great Dragon Right: John Hurt

21 October 2013 at 18:17 #18946@Shazzbot – If that’s not John Hurt playing the Policeman I’ll eat my own beard! I thought it a certainty from 1st viewing.
As for chinstraps, they’re very handy for stopping your helmet fall off. Though perhaps the Hurt Dr did everything ‘In the name of The Police-Chin’ (because that’s his moniker…)
21 October 2013 at 17:50 #18943That Policeman can’t have been played by John Hurt. He didn’t have a beard…
