14 November 2017 at 12:49 #62420There is a documentary that features the filming of ‘Friend from the Future’ very heavily. But it itself is not in the boxset. Boxsets have always been good to include all the extra bits & bobs in the past. The trailers don’t seem to be in it either, & those have always been in boxsets before…
The boxset is a slight letdown. It has a whole disc of cutdown ‘The Fan Show’ rather than new material…
There is a good little docu’ about the finale and another good one about Rona Munro, though…
13 November 2017 at 22:33 #62416The series 10 boxset doesn’t seem to have ‘Friend from the Future’ in, on or under it….

I hope you taped it off the telly…
12 November 2017 at 21:32 #62414Yeah! Due to the lighting apparently. You can also see that it has a hood in the design & that’s supposedly confirmed on the costume. You can see the beginnings of a slit up the back too (In the design). Cosplayers take note!

Presumably it won’t be long until she’s photographed in costume on location (& we can see exactly what’s what.)…

20 October 2017 at 18:29 #6220017 October 2017 at 12:42 #62194A much better version of PETER CAPALDI’S LAST PANEL as the Doctor at NYCC (The original, you might say) Also it’s rippable…
16 October 2017 at 21:45 #62192Continuing with last week’s mysteries being solved by culprits blurting their own guilt, this continues with the gaff about Susan giving the game away.
Pyrrho gets a name drop – Nice!
Yartek: ‘I shall order my creatures to kill her!’
@bluesqueakpip Voord in a hoodie is faintly ridiculous. Why don’t we ever see a ‘nude’ Voord? They’re only ‘acid’suits after all. Are they all in permanent fear of an acid attack? Anyway it’s good timing for a disguise. In the previous scene, Yartek had his Arbitan hood down and the TARDIS crew were already in the building at that point.
The resolution is yet another unnecessary ‘cover-self-blown-by-the-culprit’.
So what happened to all the travel dials after the story?
We never did get that Altos & Sabetha spin-off where they solved gritty crime in Millenius…
Well it was fair story but a bit of a dip when sandwiched between the brilliant Marco Polo & The Aztecs. The first half was better than the second, anyway. The Voord are quite a cool design & might work well in a modern version… (They returned in candy cigarette cards, a story in the 1st Dr Who annual, and more than once in comic form…)

@janetteb Talking of comics, Ian and Barbara got married in ‘Hunters of the Burning Stone’…

@craig More than happy with the Aztecs!
16 October 2017 at 12:47 #62187Yesterday’s rumour was the return of Matt Smith’s 11th Dr at Xmas. Would that delight you or Pee You Off?
Makes sense as it’s Moffat’s other Doctor (Rounding off an era not just a Doctor). If his Deep Breath appearance was considered a ‘Gatecrash’, what will this one be like (If true)?14 October 2017 at 20:58 #62169Rumour going around tonight that James Buckley is a srs 11 companion…

12 October 2017 at 18:32 #62138Watched new comedy TimeWasters on ITV2 last night. The first episode is about a time-travelling lift and contains a Time Lord joke. The 2nd episode has a sly ‘Doomsday’ reference which made me smile.

9 October 2017 at 17:21 #62078I write this post from the confines of The Glass Factory in the Desert…
The Doctor is back from his hols to save the day. He’s going to defend Ian. Can he be sure of his innocence, though? Last week Ian was responsible for the death of 1 or 2 chaps… I bet that wasn’t mentioned in any character statements!
The Tribunal are wearing hats that look like turkey booties! (Well, Judges are prone to daft headgear…)

The crime of murder is an unusual occurrence on Millenius but the Tribunal don’t really have to put their thinking caps on – Proof of innocence must be absolute.
The trippy library scene makes me question my own sobriety. What are they doing with those books?!
Billy fluff: ‘ I can’t improve at this very moment!’
The most interesting scene is where Babs & Susan earwig at the door and are privy to some casual domestic violence against Kala. These weekly assaults on women would normally be concerning but I don’t think it’s specifically an anti-woman thing… It was dramatic and unexpected and so quite shocking (Everything else in the story has been exposition due to lack of time – e.g. Ayden: ‘I’ll tell you everything…Arrgh!’).

The Prosecutor is using a phone that looks like a hairbrush! (Or is it Alexa?)

Keeping with the theme of violent assault on women, Susan has been kidnapped…
