    @phaseshift @jimthefish @janetteb @blenkinsopthebrave and everyone else.

I think there are more watch-alongs planned. In fact I think “Rose” is happening on Thursday” (15 year anniversary – maybe) and then shortly after “The Eleventh Hour” (10 year anniversary – maybe). I’m unsure but will check and have everything in order if it does happen.

  • Craig replied to the topic The Kebab & Calculator

Sad to hear that the great Max von Sydow passed away. A true legend. It’s hard to think of an actor who created so many different iconic characters or was in so many iconic films and TV programmes. Even people who’ve never seen “The Seventh Seal” know his chess game with Death. People who’ve never seen “The Exorcist” know “The power of Christ…[Read more]

It’s the finalé – can you believe it’s over already? I have no idea what’s going to happen but it’s supposed to be an epic and emotional ending.

The Cybermen are on the march and as the last remaining humans are ruthlessly hunted down, Graham, Ryan and Yaz face a terrifying fight to survive. Civilisations fall. Others rise anew. Lies are…[Read more]

And apropos of nothing… I’m developing a new website for my mate Dave, the music producer, and I’ve been digging around for some of his old stuff to add content to the site.

I’d almost forgotten about this (but have a nagging doubt I may have posted it before – but who cares). In 2004 he went to Jamaica and got to make a track with the legend…[Read more]

Just rewatched the episode and, taking a leaf out of @whist ‘s book, this came to mind. I love the words to this.

Just popping in. My brain may be fuzzy as it’s been a long day and I’ve had a couple of after dinner G&Ts. But I think he was called Yana – which stood for “You Are Not Alone” (a running theme that series).

Why that makes any sense whatever, I have no idea. But it was a great reveal.

@jimthefish All links are “No follow” so no harm done, no rankings improved. I don’t really mind.

I didn’t know Ian McElhinney from “Game of Thrones” was going to be in this too. Bonus.

As someone who is 50 next month I kinda like that all the main guest-stars are older than me for a change!

I thought that was frenetic, but this time it probably was the right choice. If you drop into a war zone don’t expect a quiet build up or even any time…[Read more]

    Ascension Of The Cybermen

It is the aftermath of the Great CyberWar. The Doctor arrives in the far future intent on protecting the last of the human race. But in the face of the relentless threat of the Cybermen, has she put her companions at risk? What terrors lie hiding in the depths of space, and what is Ko Sharmus?

    Hi @CedarBranchTardis

As above, this thread has now moved to the “Faces of The Doctor” topic.

Please don’t post here unless you have comments about the website or users of the website.

    Many thanks.

@toinfinityandbepond Thank you. I’ve marked them as spammer, so won’t happen again. At least from them.

As I’ve said before, I can’t stop this happening once in a while, unfortunately. It’s not automated. There’s a human behind it who has to set up an account, maybe upload a picture (as they did here), then send the message.

@whisht Dave told me that Weatherall wasn’t really a technical producer – he didn’t know what all the buttons and effects did (which is why he partnered up with the people who did know that stuff). But he said he had a really good ear and was always saying things like “We need more of this” or “Less of that”, “That has to be higher in the mix” or…[Read more]

Damn, just found out Andy Weatherall died. I just saw him at a gig at New Year (perhaps one of his last). He was only 56. I think I’ve seen him DJ at least once a year since 1994 (if not more). He also worked with my music producer mate Dave as “Lords of Afford” for a while.

Anyway, as a tribute, his classic remix, which I remember dancing to…[Read more]

  • The Haunting of Villa Diodati

I really hope this lives up to its title and is a creepy, hide-behind-the-sofa one. It is the night that inspired Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein”. Lord Byron, Percy Bysshe Shelley and Mary, vacationing in a villa on Lake Geneva in 1816, really did spook each other out one night by telling horror stories.

That night has already inspired…[Read more]
