    Legend of the Sea Devils

In a swashbuckling adventure set in the 19th century, the Doctor, Yaz and Dan come face to fin with one of the Doctor’s oldest adversaries, the Sea Devils. Why has legendary (and real-life) Chinese pirate queen Madam Ching come searching for a lost treasure? What terrifying forces lurk beneath the oceans?

This is written by Chibnall and…[Read more]

@devilishrobby I’m kinda thinking I’ll let it go, just cos the way it was phrased. I mean, it might be something people might be interested in.

If people start commercial advertising on the site then that will be a different matter as I have always promised there will be no advertising on this site.

But thank you for for letting me know. I’ve…[Read more]

    Eve of the Daleks

Happy New Year everyone! I hope we are emerging out of the darkness and into the light in many different ways.

This is what the BBC has to say about this episode in their turgid way:

“New Year’s Eve. Sarah is working – again. Nick is her only customer – again. Same old same old. Except this year, their countdown to midnight will be the…[Read more]

Went to a pub quiz last night – a Christmas pub quiz. A bit early but because of the current situation they’re probably not gonna do one again until January.

My team came equal second. But I had on an amazing Christmas jumper.

    The Vanquishers

It’s part 6 – the finalĂ© of the series and there are so many plot strands to pull together it’s kinda boggling my mind. This could be really interesting or really disappointing. I mean, I’m thinking the latter, but I still hope to be surprised.

All I know is what the BBC have released. In the final epic chapter in the story of the Flux,…[Read more]

It’s part 5 and I think you know how I feel about this so far. Yet I sit at home on a Sunday and still hope that Chibnall will do something spectacular. I really don’t want to dislike Doctor Who. I love it.

Anyway, from the BBC website – As the forces of evil mass, the Doctor, Yaz and Dan face perilous journeys and seemingly insurmountable…[Read more]

I Just watched “No Time To Die” which was too long. They could have easily lost half an hour or so, but I loved it anyway. It was a classic Bond movie, including an island that’s the evil lair. It wasn’t trying to hard to be Bourne or Mission Impossible (which is a problem I’ve had with the recent ones).

This was more classic Bond. And the music…[Read more]

Here we are for part 4. My fingers are crossed once again, and I hope I don’t have any reason to blink (or go wash the dishes, or doodle, or have a nap or something).

Once again, all I know is what the BBC has given us. It’s set in Devon, November 1967. A little girl has gone missing (so we’re maybe on more stable Chibnall ground – I hope…[Read more]

I have some time tonight – so I’m going to say it’s still messy.

Production looks lovely, mostly (big props to props) but the plot has no direction yet. Also on Photoshop or After Effects I can do me, or any of you, in a space cloud in front of Gods (my friends in robes), or waving blue bee clouds. It’s easy in about 10 minutes. Maybe it’s a nod…[Read more]

    Part 3 Once Upon Time

It’s part 3. Time is beginning to run wild. On a planet that shouldn’t exist, in the aftermath of apocalypse the Doctor, Dan, Yaz and Vinder face a battle to survive.

I don’t have much to say – except that Vinder is mentioned in the short write up, but is not credited on the BBC website – weird. This is once again written by Chibnall. This…[Read more]

Thanks @whisht – I have a big 50th (not mine – a friend’s) that I’ve been asked to DJ at. So I was checking tunes on birthdays. Turns out the guy’s birthday No.1 is Benny Hill – ‘Ernie the fastest milkman in the west’

I might try to do a FatBoy Slim style remix for a laugh. But a friend of mine just said to do top tracks from 1971. And there are…[Read more]

I’m not sure if this will work. But I’m gonna try. If it’s a code mess, please forgive me.

I was a bit bored so I checked what was the Top 40 in the UK the week I was born.

Spotify only had 35 of the Top 40 – but, if I have to say myself, it was great week to be born.

  • War of the Sontarans

It’s part two of ‘Doctor Who: Flux.’ So far I have to admit that I’m not engaged, but I’m hoping that the end of this episode, traditionally the end of Act One in screenwriting, will have me hooked.

All I know is that, during the Crimean War, the Doctor discovers the British army fighting a brutal alien army of Sontarans. And they’re the…[Read more]

  • I have to say, that was not an episode with a clear inciting incident that could propel us through six episodes. ‘Messy’ was the word that came to mind

If you have a dead body on a beach (Broadchurch), it’s easy to create nine episodes around who the killer is. But what was that? I worry the rest of the series will be just as convoluted and,…[Read more]

While I was away the old pub went way over its usable post limit so I’ve started a new one.

Welcome to The Winchester, favourite haunt of Shaun and Ed in ‘Shaun of the Dead.’ The Winchester was filmed in a South London pub, but it happens to be based on a pub, now called The Boogaloo, that I live nearby in North London. It’s a favourite haunt…[Read more]

Happy Hallowe’en and Happy new six-part series. Apologies for being away most of this year but I’ll definitely be here for this series and hopefully more often in the future.

    Hi all,

I’m very sorry I have been AFK (away from keyboard) for a while. You know, life stuff…

But I just wanted to let you know that I will be back on Sunday for the start of the new season. I have a busy weekend but I hope to be back at keyboard around 5:00pm. Which should give me plenty of time to get a thread opened.
