@clarkkent1967

I think @margaret-blaine above had some excellent points.

One of the things I found useful when joining was reading as many posts as possible -to get a sense of the site, its posters, academic or not, those who are published writers or not, involved with music as a career, or with experience in acting and script-writing.  Over…[Read more]

I know we are at the end of a series, when contributions slow down, but it does seem that the activity on the site has slowed down considerably in comparison to what it used to be like.

I am not entirely sure why this should be so, but this site has been running for a number of years, and we have had so many regular contributors who,…[Read more]

@craig    Thank you, that was very cute.

@craig – Third the motion.

On @Kevinwho‘s Backing Away From the Premise are some comments by Magickirin.

Could they be removed please? If it’s possible (I know you’re busy). The nasty stuff about being a “female apologist” as if all females (gay or not) are somehow not just “unequal” but inhuman, virtually, no better than animals, is just grotesque.

Stunts the…[Read more]

Thank you! Also, ‘I seen you been busy’ (behind the scenes).

Also, I have to read your script/screenplay.

Lovely jubbly!

( @craig – I cannot for the life of me work out how to get this to embed. Is there some secret -lace to get embed code that actually works?)

I suppose this discussion really should be over on the Films thread, but I also suppose spoilers are less of an issue when it comes to Blade Runner, as it seems unlikely than there is anyone with internet access who is not aware of the film.

For me, it will always be the original theatrical version with the voice-over. I…[Read more]

@ichabod There was a pretty key difference in the two films, and I’m sort of reluctant to discuss it without some sort of spoiler tag (for anyone who hasn’t seen the director’s cut of Blade Runner). If you haven’t seen it, and want to, then don’t venture beyond this point:

***SPOILER***

In the original theatrical release with…[Read more]

@craig  The more I watch that fireplace the more I love it. Next year…. Doctor Who themed Christmas at my house. My search for Tardis blue ornaments and shiny things begins now. It is too late this year but next year it will be a blue Who Christmas. Thanks for the inspiration and for giving me a Who themed activity for those long Who-less months.

@craig  Where would I find your script because I would like to read it. I hope your message works.

@craig That’s awesome!! I have this odd feeeeling. Timey-whimey: I can imagine the original writers and producers watching something like this and between them, saying “uh? That’s OUR Tardis.” That’s a ….a …cyberman….dancing the tango?”

Like a channel blip for CAL in that Library.

My Mum is Welsh, and has now retired back there. Just saying.

@Craig

It will affect me loads, and you loads. Untangling ourselves from the EU is proving a nightmare after a mere forty odd years; how do you think untangling Scotland and rUK is going to be after three hundred?

The idea that anything would result in a life time of Tory government is unrealistic, frankly, because the UK pattern (in ALL the UK…[Read more]

Thanks for that @craig, yes that’s really interesting. I was convinced the Scottish vote made a big difference just because I’d heard it said so many times. I would add that I was joking and I don’t believe for a second there should be any onus on Scottish voters to take the English into consideration at the ballot box. In fact I think the idea is…[Read more]

No, there aren’t that many occasions when 5.3 million people are going to provide the tipping point that swings 66 million people. His argument is a bit like saying Wales doesn’t control UK-wide elections – which is why Devolution happened in both countries.

The most populous country in the UK (England) currently tends to be slightly…[Read more]

@craig     Thanks for that. We have a real fireplace (wood stove) that we heat with and cook on but it is not as timey-wimey as this one. I like the crackling. I also want to make a Tardis paper chain now.

and to you, @craig. It’s beautiful.

@craig @pedant @kevinwho @nerys

I think we know exactly who we’re with, right?

Craig’s correct. Let’s not bother with the nasties who do an occasional fly-by. Talk of a character being a coward etc isn’t nice. If I were in charge of the sandpit, I’d be turning away. I think that’s a good plan. Otherwise he might need to delete whole…[Read more]

huh? What did I do? I think I chatted REALLY well with @Bluffme. I was discussing the post and asking ‘propa’ questions of the poster?  at post #66594. But if you think that this person just wouldn’t listen – I get that. They probably wouldn’t. Which is why I being genuinely interested in answers!

And I’m not chatting with the untagged…[Read more]
