@craig and @blenkinsopthebrave    I have enjoyed watching this for the first time. It was a lovely history tale and an enjoyable story to watch. I have been viewing as many BG Who episodes  as I can find and this one was a good 1st Doctor story. I only wish I was 13 again and watching Who for the first time, but I have to settle for watching as…[Read more]

What an absolutely wonderful story! And I totally agree, @craig, it is such a pity that the show’s current format does not allow for stories told over multiple episodes any more. Although who knows what Chibnall has in store for us.

And it was also brilliant to be 13 again, for those 4 episodes!

It also had a lot in common with one of my…[Read more]

Thanks for that. I did think of dropping a hint about setting up ‘Female Time Lords Retrospective’, but then decided that I didn’t know whether you were hugely relieved/celebrating or drowning your sorrows. Glad to hear it’s ‘hugely relieved’.

    🙂

@craig  This looks great and I look forward to watching it later today! @blenkinsopthebrave  I just finished the 4th Doctor stories called E-Space and The Ark in Space and the 3nd Doctor in Death to the Daleks and the 2nd Doctor in Power to the Daleks and I am fast becoming a fan of BG Who. This will be another story to check off. My lovely son a…[Read more]

@craig, my partner is in the process of retiring, (opting for poor and happy rather than well off and hating every second of the day), and considering all the possibilities now that he has time to do things again. We have so many grand plans will need at least two more lifetimes to achieve them all.
I was thinking of doing the episode a day with…[Read more]

That’s ok, thanks for the info.

Originally, I just wanted to be sure it wasn’t just me.

The Lana Del Ray is the same as similar to Creep. There’s no way round that. The middle 8/12 *cough * reminds me of something .. from Sgt Peppers or Revolver actually. That’s happily nicked, studied as well.

    Ah, @craig
Funnily enough when I first read your post I couldn’t see the image and couldn’t listen. When I read her name I thought “uh oh – she does rather wear her Radiohead influences on her sleeve…”

and then realised it was Lianne de Havas I was thinking of!! *

    So – I hadn’t heard Lana Del Rey’s song before, so I thought I’d listen and…[Read more]

When it comes to the ear rings, presumably the Tardis has the means to manufacture the requisite jewellery, but a sonic screwdriver or hi-tech Tardis intervention is not strictly necessary to account for the ear piercing; all that is needed is some kind of antiseptic to swab the ears, a sterile needle, something to…[Read more]

Yep, I’m sure AbbyShot and Magnoli Clothiers etc are all over it even as we speak. I suppose what I was thinking was that it seems a shame to create something so specific that it allows the cosplay companies to have something of a monopoly. Capaldi’s outfits and Smith’s early costumes were ideal for the DIY cosplayers. I…[Read more]

@craig — I’m in no way a musical authority but I think I tend to echo your thinking. There seems to me to be slight differences with the Radiohead and the Hollies but nothing I would have thought you could have sued over. The Hollies just seems to echo the musical tropes of the 50s in general to me. But the Lana Del Rey seems to me pretty blatant…[Read more]

@craig — I think you’re probably spot on as to the vibe we’ll hopefully get from Whittaker. There’s something of your quirky best friend in first year of art school vibe about her.

@wolfweed — Yes, it’ll be interesting to see how they do the earrings thing. Maybe she’ll just arrive with them on a la Troughton with his gear. Maybe she’ll do the…[Read more]
