    Good news. @DanMartinUK says, in his latest post for The Guardian (don’t read if you don’t like anything remotely spoilerish), that :

    after the controversial axing of behind-the-scenes show Doctor Who Confidential two years ago, the show is back, sort of. Coming to iPlayer and the red button is Doctor Who Extra, which promises to be “much more t…

    Just over a week to go and my boyfriend informs me of an approaching event called ‘his sister’s birthday’. Sulk, rant, mutter how typical it is. But then it turns out her birthday is on the Saturday at the end of the month, which isn’t quite as bad, and is exactly, to the letter, why I got a kindle fire last Christmas. (We’ll be going for the…[Read more]

    @Whisht Yes, I liked the Tolkein and WW1 one. I agree that there are indeed Accessibility concerns when you have either lots and lots of bright white, or are trying to read text on top of a photo.

    [I recently got asked to give feedback on the Graun’s beta site. I said its acres of bright white made it bloody awful to read, that I invariably…[Read more]

    thanks for that link @Craig – nice article and interesting “immersive storytelling” interface as @DanMartinUK says.

    Seems to be similar in terms of approach to what the BBC are doing with their K&L pieces – here’s one for Tolkien and WW1.
    But the BBC approach (at least for that article) is less rich in terms of photography and no transparent…[Read more]

    @Wolfweed Thanks for that.

    There’s a great article by our very own @DanMartinUK on Doctor Who and its cultural significance on the BFI site.

    Being a web geek I also love the mechanic of the page. It’s beautiful.

    @FatManInABox

    I got about ten comments down before people started waffling about ‘those in the know’. This really is going to be a bit of a bugger when @DanMartinUK starts his blog reviews.

    Evening all –

    @DanMartinUK is not letting the 50th being shown damp the celebratory year. He’s continuing his retrospective pick of episodes by suggesting that Dalek was the best for CE. You can find it at:

    @Scatamonky I like your summing up. That makes sense to me.

    @DanMartinUK has a new article on Buzzfeed – some great gifs and screengrabs, and  a few things I missed. (I’m still not convinced about definitely seeing Hurt regenerate into Eccleston tho)

    I know – I think it would be difficult to get a comprehenive view that @DanMartinUK provided in his reviews, because the media blackout meant that there were no previews. The problem with Neil and Sue is that they’ve anticipated certain things in the reaction and it seems so obvious. Key points are missed, in terms of what you…[Read more]
