Oh yes. I was about to specify that I particularly meant the design of the monster as I could see someone pointing out the concept of the monster was quite different !
On Missy, he struggle between the Doctor’s hope and his experience/knowledge was poignant. I’m tending to believe Missy is for real right now :). I suppose I’m…[Read more]

@ichabod I think “power” to the monks is freedom to make effective choices, so their idea of “love” is just what the Doctor says it is: “Love is — slavery.” Well, he should know: he was recently shown increasingly enslaved (and perverted from his natural, chosen course) by one hell of an obsessive love for his former companion.[Read more]

@devilishrobby I don’t suppose anyone has dared to mention the similarities between the veritas aliens and the Silence.
I did notice that. I wonder if there’s an actual link, or it was just Moffat playing off one of his own characters. I loved this episode, though I admit to being not completely drawn into the “game” element of the story. S…[Read more]

Enjoyed that a lot. A really spirited romp, but with a big sting in the tail. Terrific and I thought ultimately moving performances by Peter Capaldi and Alex Kingston; loved the Doctor being shocked at the Tardis being bigger on the inside. I take it we had a call back/forward to the short extra scenes of `Last Night’ from Series 6 as River…[Read more]

A little love for Puro everyone, she is back in the hospital and needs our warm thoughts. Remember, she was in pain when she wrote that post. Puro loves the show and this Forum and I’m sure it’s eating at her to be part of any disruption or hurt here. I think she is just taking a break here because of her illness and stress. I’m sure she wil…[Read more]

@pedant @devilishrobby @whisht @bluesqueakpip Many thanks, and I’ll definitely look into Wordfence. The cost isn’t a problem at the mo and I would really rather cut down on server load and have a fast site than throw money at the problem. It’s an interesting, technical challenge to speed the site up and it’ll also benefit everyone. I’m working on…[Read more]

@devilishrobby Each one of the Claricles have lived their own life, they were just born to save the Doctor. From The Name of the Doctor: “…Sometimes it’s like I’ve lived a thousand lives in a thousand places. I’m born, I live, I die. And always, there’s the Doctor. Always I’m running to save the Doctor. Again and again and again. And he hardly eve…[Read more]

Hello @BadWulf
I interpreted this as the Master creating an army for the Doctor using “volunteers”, as the Doctor would probably have had more difficulty taking ownership of a conscript army.
Interesting idea. I hadn’t considered that – I went for ‘The Master is so cold-heartedly evil she laughs at making humans delete their emotions.’ OTOH,…[Read more]

@Devilishrobby– I lie your point about the woman in the shop and Clara not recognizing her ! also- I still
think the numbers that Missy gave to the Doctor will have some meaning too
Regarding Osgood- every time we see her they bring up her sister ! – was it a twin sister- a clone sister? -

@Devilishrobby Agreed re: Danny as red herring – that would be typical Moff sleight of, erm, character.
Regarding the science – I understand the need for suspension of disbelief, but it can do real harm to a story if the science is done poorly when it is unnecessary to the story. Here, the magic trees made oxygen, which apparently protected the…[Read more]
