@alexwho @catladymeow @drben Exactly how I feel which is hard, because I was really looking forward to a good sit down with my favourite show.  This episode was beyond laboured, it was seriously my least favorite episode, well almost, ’42’ left me disappointed too.

@lisa @purofilion good sleuthing! Yes, I agree, the themes are strong and…[Read more]

@Miapatrick   Yes, for a teacher, and educated person generally, I would have thought she would assume that most people would know the genesis of “Morpheus”. But as @steve-thorp points out, she also didn’t recognize the Shakespeare quote. Hm. Have to say, the Clara as hybrid theory seems increasingly certain. And as others have pointed out, the D…[Read more]

Am guessing you haven’t seen District 9… 😉

I like the theory, that I think I have by now read in multiple places, that the episodes at some point will not be in an order linear in time to when events occurred.  Thus I think it is quite possible that Clara has died in the future but that the Doctor has gone back in time to when Clara was alive to enjoy some final moments with…

@jphamlore great analysis re. the human ignorance toward ET life followed by some great replies. i forget, how is it that the whole RTD era of humanity becoming aware of alien life has been somewhat expunged? was it Smitty’s crack or bang maybe? i realise Amy’s memory was affected due to the crack in her bedroom but was the whole planet…[Read more]

<span style=”color: #000000; font-family: Times New Roman;”>@jphamlore– but I think the point about the peace is that it isn’t dictated by the doctor. It was negotiated between Kate and the Zygon leader and for all we know included the clause: ‘the boxes will be a bluff to draw attention and Kate will have her memories wiped if she goes off mes…[Read more]

@jphamlore You sort of described Charlotte in the Library to a degree.  Caught protecting the two children and back trying to manipulate the outside world through her T.V.  In every version she is taking care of two of kids.  She is always caught in a world were she is not clear until the end it’s not real.

Sadly I must totally disagree that this episode had anything to say about war, especially its status today.

I’m not sure that anyone is arguing that this episode and the preceding one were about war as such, still less that they were about the kind of double-think and obfuscatory language manifest increasingly in the justification and…[Read more]

The hybrid is humans as hosts for Time Lord souls, vessels from which the Time Lords can once again rule space and time.

Well that’s a bit chilling, before breakfast! Thing is, River is/ was already a human/ Time Lord hybrid and she was trained as an assassin, a weapon. So perhaps Davros’ prophecy was actually about River. And if River…[Read more]

No, I think it is a sound artistic choice as well. The questions it raises are far more interesting.

I don’t disagree, but it is possible Remaining!Osgood is trying to re-write the rules.
