    @mudlark @pedant

    Need a real physicist to answer that (or a lot of time on the web). I suspect if your close enough to notice significant time dilation, then its probably safe enough to say your already paste.

    @pedant

    And we haven’t even considered spaghettification…

    Yes, I did wonder why there was no mention of spaghettification.  How close to the event horizon does one need to be before that becomes a factor?

    Maybe the ship was originally shorter and fatter 😕

  • Brewski replied to the topic World Enough and Time

    @pedant Or an entire pirate….

    LOL!

      And we haven’t even considered spaghettification…

    Is that part of Pastafarianism?

    The Theory of Rotini

    Or… Carb Annuity errors?

    @pedant—

    interesting idea, but would need to be executed with next-level aplomb for it not to feel like a cop out

    tend to agree and not really convinced it will go in that direction. But thought it was interesting and was curious as to what others thought. And it does seem like the simulation aspect was given curious emphasis in Extremis and SM…[Read more]

    @missrori— I agree with you and @pedant that the Hybrid is a concept that’s done and dusted. I’m always slightly bemused when this keeps coming up as I think it was pretty clearly dealt with in Hell Bent. I suspect it’s because it’s such a grand phrase that evokes such a lot in the Whovian imagination that it’s hard to let of and accept the…[Read more]

    @pedant Well, I know that and my friend knows that.  😉  But come on, it’s hard to see how there’s a Happy Christmas show to be had if everybody but the Doc goes out in a body bag next week, it can’t be too dark!
