(a weapon of mass destruction)

To be…er… pedantic…a “weapon if ultimate destruction”. Seriously: what more explanation does anyone need?

I don’t know @pedant  I think @DenValdron ‘s criticisms are valid tbh.

I enjoyed the episode in so many ways, not least (which I haven’t mentioned yet) the cinematography. The shot which took us from planetary explosion to a coffee cup was particularly beautiful. I enjoyed most of all, the collective experience of sharing fifty years of the pro…[Read more]

I watched on TV as there isn’t a cinema for 60 miles where I live, but it was just amazing.  Visually, the scenes with the paintings worked so well in that it looked 3D and you could see the depth in the painting even on a flatscreen.  I shall be watching again later when time permits!

I’m with @Timeloop and @Juniperfish – really like your a…[Read more]

Now, that was fun!

Lots of girls with Baker-like scarfs in the audience, some 10s and 11s, plenty of fezzes, sonic screwdrivers and Jammie Dodgers, and two couples with the girl in a TARDIS dress and the boy as the respective Doctor. Noughty puns, go away!

Loved John Hurt.

Favourite lines:- ‘ the one that regrets’ and ‘ the one that forgets’…[Read more]

<waves hello>

Been lurking recently, madly trying to keep up with the oncoming storm of all things Whovian, JFK retrospectives here in the states, and those things that insist on popping up in Real Life. (Don’t they know I have better things to do with my time?)

I have synchronized my watch and clocks so I can lift a glass in tribute to our…[Read more]

I also put it all caps, as it should have been,

I wanted non-English (after the banter with @Shazzbot), and when I thought of the style I recalled that in MY generation, the German was by far the most popular. “Atomkraft? Nein danke!”

At it was always “Nuclear power,? No Thanks!” in English. Just checked my 1970s original…

Yet…[Read more]

I was aiming for an excessively literal translation of the idiomatic “Fishy business” but Google knew I was using idiom and kept trying to help me, which was really unhelpful. Also, according to Timeloop, Google can’t spell!

This is the inspiration, for those of us of a certain age. They used to be available in any…[Read more]

Like how lots of avatars are regenerating/sprucing up in advance of the 50th, but unlike @Timeloop it’s confusing the hell out of me! 😉

@pedant – shame your original was lost but I’m intrigued by your multiple new personalities!

@Bluesqueakpip Miss your old one but who couldn’t like a cute hamster and a little blue squeak?

@pedant
I think you’ve said you don’t want to be a thing tasting of fish, but it’s my brother who speaks German – so you’d really have to ask @Timeloop.
