Locke is obviously well before any understanding (nascent though it still is) of the brain and was, I imagine, a cartesian dualist, so in his view, memory presumably resided with the soul, so a reconstituted body containing that soul would contain the same self.

Yes, the regeneration scene (and a couple of other brief scenes) survive. The regeneration scene survives because the children’s programme Blue Peter did a piece on Doctor Who – and included that clip from Tenth Planet.
Yes, I’ve seen it on Twitter. I don’t think it’s on the official UK BBC site, but it may have been the US publicity people who released it, as a teaser.

It could be just a nice bit of Photoshop, of course. There’d be that shot of Peter Capaldi on the TARDIS floor from The Doctor Falls, then you could meld his face with Jodie Whittaker’s.

Very much enjoying the feel of all these episodes. I’m thinking that emotionally, this is the lowest key doctor since Tom Baker. Like @CountScarlioni, I like the scope of the threats as well. We’re definitely seeing a thread of villains who aren’t really villains. I confess it’s a theme that resonates with me.
Yes, I think it’s a little production joke: Clara was positioned as the Doctor’s ‘daughter’, Bill is positioned as ‘granddaughter’, therefore the picture of her mum – as a little joke – really resembles Clara.

I dunno if we’ll see Susan herself, but Moffat really has re-taken the Doctor through his entire life cycle.
