    anytime you get something like that, send a message to craig (here, or in a pm). he’ll block them from using the site. (potentially, if left unblocked, they could cause havoc with another user, or even the site itself, so it’s best to get rid of them. there’s a fairly normal stream of them infecting the…[Read more]

  • Hi @craig. Great to hear from you and sorry to hear that life has been getting in the way. Just wanted to say what I know all of us feel, and that is how much we appreciate everything you have done and continue to do in maintaining this little haven from a crazy world.

    Quatermass and the Pit Part 1 also seems to have been visited by an inept hacker.

    @craig The TV Programs thread needs some attention.

    Cheers

    @Craig Brilliant. One of the best I have seen so far. the last one made me feel teary, this has left me in tears too but for a different reason. Must say however that scarf looks to be in remarkably good condition for something that has been knocking around space for seven years, dragging through the mud of alien planets, being trod on and tripped…[Read more]

    @craig. My eyes are a little moist after watching that. Beautifully written and of course acted.

    I am rather behind with the rewatches but we watched “Girl in the Fireplace very recently so I can say, it is still as brilliant as it was back when first screened. An episode that really plays with time travel, it is fun, very very scary, well…[Read more]

    It’s 2018 and Jamie and Victoria are told, if they escape, to find a phone box.

    Not the 2018 I remember!

  • winston replied to the topic The Girl in the Fireplace

    @craig  That was haunting.

  • Whisht replied to the topic General Music thread 4

    @craig – I just saw the news and logged in to say something similar.

    Massively influential.

    I first heard Kraftwerk (maybe like many in UK) from watching a Tomorrow’s World (popular technology/ culture programme).

    Now this is insane – if the video title is to be believed I was 4 when I saw this but I…[Read more]

    @craig  My husband told me today that it was covid. He has been talking about the band and singing songs all day. It is so sad  about the people being alone at the end. Just too sad.

  • Whisht replied to the topic General Music thread 4

    @craig

    ah hell.

    This was the first song that sprang to mind.

    I know that Golden Brown is more famous (and possibly even had more of his involvement in the core of the songwriting).
    Hell, we even had the single.
    But the urgency and anger and fuck-you of Something Better Change just seems… well,…[Read more]

    @craig  That is sad. My husband is singing along to the song as I type. He was (he would say still is) a punk and loved the Stranglers.We have a couple of albums here. I will have to dig them out and have a listen.

  • janetteB replied to the topic General Theatre thread

    @craig thank you for the links. I did see that this was going to be available. I would also like to see Anthony and Cleopatra,  not one that I have studied or seen any productions of. I started watching Twelfth Night with Fran, (Tamsin Greig) but I think it has now been taken down.

    cheers

  • winston replied to the topic General Theatre thread

    @craig and @blenkinsopthebrave  I have seen neither so this is a great opportunity.  I have been running out of good entertainment so thanks for more.

  • Thanks for the tip, @craig.

    And, after finding the National Theatre website, I see that next week they are offering “Antony and Cleopatra” with Ralph Fiennes and Sophie Okonedo.

    Mind you, we don’t actually dress for the theatre before viewing.
