@JanetteB Thank you. Hope you’re enjoying the post exam period and hope the results as good as you all deserve, after all the hard work.
@TardisBlue Anyone who posts Aretha Franklin gets my vote! đ

Links to both of those have been posted before, but worth repeating.
Alice X Zhang’s artwork is gorgeous, I really like her TARDIS one in particular.

@Wolfweed – nice one. The communal cinema viewing last Sat was very special, but enjoying cinema sound and vision (almost) on your own sounds pretty cool too. 15 people at 10.30 on a Sunday morning – I’m impressed it got that many!
On the subject of numbers, and following on from @curvedspace‘s post about record breaking Tumblr figs, the…[Read more]

@curvedspace – That article is cherry picking elements to build a case around. Â They are completely discounting many examples, as mentioned brilliantly above.

@Juniperfish @PhaseShift @Curvedspace : my favourite thing to do on this site is to hark back to comparisons to the classic series, so I have to say I agree that Moffat is mostly thinking about how time travel affects people’s relationship with death. The comparison I have in mind is to something that has irked me ever since I first saw it: the…[Read more]

I think itâs a popular complaint about Moffat that his tenure has seen a decline in overall deaths. Itâs not something I really mind, as Iâve seen the show lurch in the other direction too often, with seasons of âeveryone diesâ and that gets even duller.
I think @Juniperfish has made some good points, but I’m less kind about the…[Read more]

@Curvedspace That is a good article.
However, I don’t think it is entirely correct in its reading of the Moffat era.
Moffat likes to think about the nature of time for a Time Lord. And, in some ways, death has no dominion, or rather, a Time Lord can pretend it has no dominion.
In “The Wedding of River Song” the Doctor has this exchange with…[Read more]

Apologies for the late reply, this week’s been a bit hectic with only stolen moments on the forum possible.
I’ve reinstated the email tick box for topic threads. It was one of those things I didn’t think people used, but now I now better đ
Thanks for the feedback.

Yes, Heinlein did user that idea a lot (I was an avid reader in my teens), but I don’t like the result! You could view all the various possibilities as just that, possibilities in the quantum foam with each having a probability, until one version ‘collapses’ into becoming reality. Clara of course is zipping about through the b…[Read more]

“Still. I think Moffat needs to find some opportunities to play with the Doctorâs gender and race in a story where he can back out of it if everyone hates it.”
@curvedspace – i agree. it would be so easy to do. there have been doctor-lite episodes, such as ‘blink.’ just come up with a similar idea, when capaldi is unavailable for regular f…[Read more]

@curvedspace – this. We have enough screaming when they cast black actors as the Van Balen brothers – though since the person concerned only appeared to even notice black actors if they were playing villains, I wasn’t too impressed. The only…[Read more]

Just echoing the comment of @CurvedSpace, I no longer see a check box to allow me to subscribe to replies on each forum topic.
Is there another way to do it @craig or has the feature been lost? -

My biggest question is: how was Four there, looking old? Don’t we see Four regenerate into Five (I haven’t seen that ep; I don’t know)? If so, when and how does Four get old? And are we meant to believe that the National Gallery is in a TARDIS? Or just that Curator likes those round things?

@curvedspace Â
Does Hurt regenerate into Eccleston? I sure thought I saw Eccleston’s face bleeding through but it wasn’t clear, and I can’t check it just now. If Hurt doesn’t verifiably regenerate into Eccleston, then we might have another gap in which to insert another hidden regeneration. It would be pretty cheesy to do so, IMO, but Moffat d…[Read more]

yes I can believe that. Fall of 11 doesn’t actually mean anything in particular, but we do know his “grave” is there, but not when he dies (or if its an immutable point than can never change). I […]
