    @missrori:   I’m trying to be like the Doctor and be kind, and it doesn’t work… 🙁

    Oh but it does. You retain your self respect, and put unkind people to shame. They may not realise this, but other people will.

    Try to be your good self, the power is with you.

    Thanks for trying to help.

    Not at all, it doesn’t cost much does it. *big smile*

    @bluesqueakpip:  You can’t. Fix other people, I mean. They can only fix themselves, and you can only fix yourself.

    Spontonski. You can’t.

    @missrori:

    This is going to sound flippant and perhaps it is. However, if there is a nuclear war, there won’t be anyone left to try to live with themselves. I endeavour  not to think about it, it only spo…[Read more]

  • I’ve told all my friends that I’ve gone into mourning for the loss of Peter Capaldi. *sighs*

    Watched one of the last interviews in New York. Just before the end, they showed a video of people of both sexes, saying how much HE meant to them. All bar one (I think), were young women and men.

    I was under the impression that it was that age group…[Read more]

    @bluesqueakpip:   Except my feelings are based on a programme I’ve seen; your feelings are based on a programme you haven’t seen yet.

    I rest my case.

    No, but I have seen this actress at work.

    However, we shall never see eye to eye, and whoever is right or wrong, we should both rest our cases.

  • @ichabod:

    IMO, the reason is that it isn’t mediocre but so much better than that, that the “lows” can’t hold the rest down.  And I think that Moffat-Capaldi-and-all achieved so much *despite* the lapses and flat bits etc. that it’s the intimations of depth that grab you even in stories that are spinning out of control.

    I’m very curious to s…[Read more]

  • @janetteb:   I said the same when Ecclestone was leaving, and when Tennant was going, and when Matt Smith moved on. It is always hard to let go and I would like every one of the AG Doctors to have done at least one more series.

    You see, I didn’t. although I really liked the first three, I didn’t mind them moving on because I was curious.

    Life is full of “If only.” I am dreading the special for the first time ever.

    As series go, my marks would be series 8.  8/10.  Series 9.  8/10 (the girl who died and lived prevented a higher  score)

    series 10. 10/10.

    @bluesqueakpip:

    I hated Heaven Sent. Words cannot express how awful it is to have a Doctor that I didn’t like as the sole character for an entire bloody episode. It was dreadful. Agonising. I only watched it (a week late) because online chatter made me realise I’d missed a lot of plot points.

    Well, there you are, I rest my case. You can’t hel…[Read more]

    Some of your choices I agree with, and some I don’t.

    For starters, none of PC’s series were mediocre, or terrible. You simply didn’t like them.

    My marks out of 10.

    Deep Breath: 9/10

    Into the Dalek: 6/10

    Robot of Sherwood: 10/10

    Listen: 9/10

    Time Heist: 10/10

    Kill the Moon: 2/10

    You are, of course, quite right in theory.

    Unfortuantely I feel that shall never come to terms with a female Doctor, and wonder just how many Whovians truly *like* the idea, or aren’t outspoken enough to say that they don’t.

    Jodie Whittaker is an average actress at best – in my opinion – I have not liked her in anything I have…[Read more]
