@whisht @cathannabel

I don’t think Jack Bruce should be covered here, exactly, but link Theme of an Imaginary Western by Mountain & have you an exclusive vocal tone in Bruce -my opinion, only. And I did pick up your niiice mention of 4 in the Morning… He was an interesting  character deemed quite conservative but over the years he had a…[Read more]

@janetteB sorry about the coding. I simply type it write in w/o any cutting or pasting and I avoid ‘&’ if I can as well as dollar and pound signs, question and exclamation marks. It’s a tad frustrating. I don’t want to have 9 lines of code to wade thru. 🙂  From the word improving go down to “But it was Labour.”

@JanetteB

I think many people KNEW we were the lucky country & secured political mates rates via ‘good’ capitalism and entrepreneurship. My parents left communism but I valued a socialist society  (not Communist ideals). As Iris in The Heights says  – ABC ivew  -Thane bloomin adores it & Iris is his favourite character to the extent he’s cried wh…[Read more]

Also she meets the tuning fork test. Her coda and end solo match up with her 1st note.

@whisht absolutely  – -the terrific riff on Santana is really great to hear. They slowed it down a bit for the crowd and it’s tuned very nicely indeed. Considering the dust and wind.

Syzygy.

@Whisht

That IS energetic. The influence was Phil Ochs and Faron Young of all people. The ragtime and the shanty-town balance is fucking beautiful.

And then falls tears. God I hope that country finds itself again.  I was gonna post Cocker’s I don’t Need A Doctor. Because well, we do here!

instead we have Joplin doing Big Mama. It’s not a…[Read more]

This is so fantastic. Thankyou so much.

During a moment of break from studies I read some articles in the NY Times ($1 for 3-4 articles) and then watched a show called The Family which sounds nuts and actually IS nuts.  What’s worrying is on the paper’s comments there are people actively saying “yeah, no worries, he’s a man, that’s…[Read more]

Hi there @bluesqueakpip. @mudlark @serahni  and all you great men and women!  @whisht @blenkinsopthebrave @arbutus  @nerys. This idea sounds like it’s about theology only, but I think it’s about changing perceptions -or not changing them?

Due to the ‘serious’ nature of the post below I thought I’d should share this from a Reuters article which co…[Read more]

To be fair, I was taking “mork” out for a walk. 🙂 I don’t really know what a mork is, but it suits Clooney. He has this habit of moving his head around and up and down and smiling with no teeth, looking all bashful and then smiling with teeth. It’s this: “i’m trying to be irresistible and totally interested in you, the other character…[Read more]

@blenkinsopthebrave

Oh, that’s some connection. I was thinking of, & watching bits of Up in The Air & my mind was drifting to play-boys & then you mention A New Leaf! I remember a well equipped lady in a bikini sidling up to Henry Graham. “I am alive!  I want to give….”

Henry scurries off in this pitiful, almost fearful voice “oh No! Nooo!…[Read more]

@Winston

that joke died didn’t it? It was the code that did it, huh (scratches ears). You said: “it’s filmed in BC so you can see a bit of beautiful Canada.”

And I said “but BC stands for British Columbia?”  As in BC IS Beautiful Canada.

@whisht !!!!!!!!!!! Hey @Whisht!!!!!!!!! You said I was funny!  But no-one got the funny (whines).

I LOVE M…[Read more]

oops! I didn’t break it! I quoted 15 words from @winston.

@aklapa -some of that was yours but don’t want to edit for fear of the loss of detail.

And I am aware of the whole ‘pasting & cutting’ thing @pedant. And thank you for those ideas.  Interesting that when the quote was used by me, the font that appeared was very different. I used Ctrl C…[Read more]

@pedant once back at the house & into September I’ll enquire into Amazon Prime Aus.

Also First Man which was mentioned IS a film? Is it produced by Wyck Godfrey of Twilight Fame and I Robot?

@jimthefish Years & Years sounds great. @cathannabel:  thank you for that too. We also saw Russian Doll: brill! Jim, Good luck with the thesis. May the calm of the Jedi knights be with you!

That sounds like a great idea. I’ll look at those and also some sites on the web for assistance.

Mum said they did Hamlet and read out parts and ended up memorising them too which was good practise.

Hope he gets better soon.

@pedant hey there.

oops sorry about the VD. I had to google it. Lots of things are “VD” but I worked out which one you meant on account of your exceeding old age. 🙂

This is my humour. I’m testing it out. As dad’s gen would say “it’s a Sunday drive so I’m wearing a hat and driving slowly.”  I always type my responses straight onto the “reply…[Read more]
