@blenkinsopthebrave    That movie is magic and I have loved it since the first time I watched it ,50 or so years ago. It was on TV and I remember how emotional it made me. It has all the feels and leaves you grinning like an idiot. Everyone should watch it. I know I’ve  had a crush on David Niven ever since.

It was called “Stairway to Heaven” her…[Read more]

@nerys The leg is healing well and now the work is on the knee in order to get it bending like it used to. It is a painful, frustrating process that has to be done if I want to walk without a cane and hopefully without a permanent limp. I have never broken a bone or had surgery until now and I thought I would do a good job of it. I think with all…[Read more]

@thane16    The Doctor must always reverse the evil they meet ! It would be a pretty dismal show if the Doctor traveled through the universe doing nothing to help. The Doctor helps people ,even bad ones and even if it seems silly, sometimes “everybody lives” and I wait for those happy victories. The new Doctor looks like a man capable of running do…[Read more]

@thane16  Hello, its good to see you too. The leg is getting better everyday and like a toddler I am taking a few clumsy steps now but without a happy parent clapping and cheering me on although the mister does his best. There is a bit of Quasimodo in my gait but I am sure that will also improve.(I hope anyway) It has been an experience that has…[Read more]

To  my fellow Canadian Whovians and all other hockey fans , the Edmonton Oilers just won game 6 against the Florida Panthers 5 to 1. Go Oilers!  The winston house is very happy right now. After being behind 3 games to none they have won their last 3 games meaning they will play a 7th for the Stanley Cup!  Very exciting. It would make us very ha…[Read more]

@dentarthurdent    My leg is healing thanks for asking. I have just started to take some steps with crutches  and to put some weight on it. I won’t be running any marathons soon but then I never ran any in the first case. As for my career as a knee model, probably over but I may have a funny walk now.

The specials were great but they need ano…[Read more]

@thane16  Hello to you too. I have not had a chance to watch this series yet so I am lurking or is that drinking, over here instead. The new Doctor looks exciting and I am looking forward to watching a new series with RTD back. I did watch the specials but not the Xmas episode so I am a bit behind.

Since I broke my leg I have been watching a bit…[Read more]

@dentarthurdent @janetteb @ps1l0v3y0u The 10th Doctor left the hand Doctor with Rose saying that he had his memories and thoughts and he certainly was a replica. Was he “the Doctor”?
Dentarthurdent, have a great trip! It sounds exciting.Your lemon tree makes me envious,I can’t grow them here.

@janetteb    Thanks for asking and yes my recovery is on track but no I am not enjoying my rest as much as I should. My mister does his best but my garden looks a little scruffy and my hands itch to pull weeds and plant flowers. I definitely can’t get down that low.Seriously though , I had a six week check and I can now use a walker or crutches an…[Read more]

@dentarthurdent @ps1l0v3y0u The only thing I really remember about Skyfall is that one of the main characters had the same name as my mister which made me very happy. I was so happy every time they said his name, my own little Doctor Who connection. Maybe I should rewatch, there must have been more happening.

@dwnerdfrommars Thank you for the well wishes. I am doing Ok although I don’t like sitting or lying around all the time. I feel like Jabba the Hut lying around waiting for someone to come feed me. Maybe they will bring me a pizza with pineapple on it. (I love it)

I do agree with you and @ps1l0v3y0u about the 6th Doctor. The silly costume didn’t…[Read more]

@dentarthurdent @janetteb Thanks for the well wishes. Day 6 and still in bed most of the day but today I feel a bit more human. Cons- can’t move without help, missing the tulips and daffodils, can’t bath except from a bowl, mister Winston does not know where anything is, pain, boredom… more to come. Pros – I can watch old Who all I want, eat…[Read more]

@ps1l0v3y0u Oh the music of the 70s, the ridiculous and the sublime.  I think if you can’t be traditionally good then you better be strange or interesting.

My younger sister loved the Bay City Rollers as only a 12 year could and her bedroom here in Canada had more tartan than a Highland Games.

    Mind you I can’t say anything because at 12 I was…[Read more]

When I was growing up in the 70s I listened to the Carpenters and I think Karen had a beautiful mellow voice and could sing anything and everything. They were not popular with my Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Alice Cooper loving friends because they were far too cool for “silly love songs” but they didn’t know…[Read more]

How does the Tardis stay clean? If it is self cleaning I want that technology. If it is a cleaner then they are not payed enough.

    @nerys @dentarthurdent @ps1l0v3y0u

The new Tardis looks great but I wouldn’t want to clean it! 😉

I could happily live in the Tardis library without the scary burnt guys of course.

@nerys  @dentarthurdent  I will have to wait until the new series comes to the library unless my lovely Whovian children get the DVDs for me. I watched the 3 specials but not the Xmas episode so I haven’t met Ruby Sunday yet but the actress was great on Coronation Street.

@nerys I agree with you about the trailer,it does look exciting. New enemies for a new Doctor. The new Doctor looks like he can do a lot of running down corridors! He will need all that energy from the looks of the trailer. I am very excited about the new series.

@blenkinsopthebrave  That news makes me feel sad. Maybe I just don’t like change. I am getting used to having to wait for many of my favourite shows to come to the library or DVDs because I can’t afford the many streaming services I need to watch them. Still Doctor Who and the BBC go together like tea and biscuits. I must be getting old.
