Mary Tamm, Geoffrey Hughes, Richard Briers all mentioned as having passed away on the BAFTAs. No Ray Cusick, though?!?
12 May 2013 at 21:43 #8798From the Official Twitter:
”Steven Moffat has promised if fans help keep the finale’s secrets, we’ll release a special video featuring Matt & David right after the ep!”
12 May 2013 at 21:17 #8792Is that the BAFTA sequence over? Weird…

12 May 2013 at 15:59 #8739@scaryb – The conclusions were many but mainly ‘Dear BBC, don’t try to attract new viewers with the spoileriness in your trailers @ the expense of your core regular audience’. [Doesn’t apply to all previews/trailers]
Also, ‘Perhaps a spoiler warning (a la footie results) would be in order…’
You can watch it here.

12 May 2013 at 15:21 #8733Points of View just debated about when trailers and adverts are too spoilery (included shots from NIS)…

12 May 2013 at 15:02 #8731I just had a thought – What if Clara is River Song’s ‘Babooshka’? That would be bonkers…
12 May 2013 at 13:04 #8714

As well as the puppet from TGC, Webley’s World of Wonders contained waxworks of a Shansheeth from SJA and a Blowfish from Torchwood/TPO, & many other obscure Who monsters.
Wednesday derives from ‘Day of Mercury’. Amongst other things, Mercury is the patron god of messages/communication (including divination), travelers, boundaries, luck, trickery and thieves; he is also the guide of souls to the underworld.

Remember, Borking is a serious Profession.

Interestingly, the Official Website has a poll which asks us if we’ve solved the mystery of Clara or not…
11 May 2013 at 22:59 #8642Chancellor George Osborne just claimed to have brought Star Wars back to Britain. Cringeworthy! Warwick Davies featured on 2nd vid.
11 May 2013 at 22:31 #8638The CyberPlanner obviously hung on to the emotion of ‘Randy’.
Or is it just because ‘Mr Clever’ tapped organic potential?
11 May 2013 at 21:54 #8615Don’t forget to watch the BAFTAs tomorrow night. WHO treats in store.
Don’t sue me if you see the TNOTD advert (before/during/after) though.

11 May 2013 at 21:30 #8601Just to clarify as it’s all quite confusing – The spoilery thing that was on BBC 2 was the advert (called prequel on the official website – though it’s not ‘He Said She Said’). All the official bumpf is very spoilery this fortnight.
11 May 2013 at 20:41 #8579Paul McGann is narrating a Star Trek documentary right now…

Did you spot it?

CRAZY CAPTIONS?
9 May 2013 at 20:03 #8370@ardaraith – I wish I could claim the credit for having Photoshopped this. I did hoot when I 1st found it!

A link to a bigger version of the Paul Hanley picture (without the latest cyberman, though).
9 May 2013 at 19:39 #8367@jimthefish – Any idea what that horse’s head (Next to the Voord head) is from?

My favourite Cybermen story – Junkyard Demon.
8 May 2013 at 20:59 #8264@phaseshift – Sorry! Great post ‘there’ by you. I got delayed in doing mine – got there eventually.
It seems that the environmental zeitgeist has passed, & that ‘Eco Friendliness’ is often more about an excuse to make big bucks (e.g. windfarms). However, this story remains as important as ever.
Pass me that box of maggots, would you?
8 May 2013 at 20:07 #8258Dan Martin’s Green Death thread is up! Just thought I’d let you all know…
8 May 2013 at 19:59 #8257@Shazzbot (et all)
In ‘An Unearthly Child’, some of the cave people chase the TARDIS crew who have escaped. The main Cave-chap is savagely attacked by an animal & is bleeding to death. Ian & Barbara want to stay & help, whereas the Dr wants to just leave (or brain the guy with a large rock). Most surprised of all are the Cave-Folk, who can’t understand this concept of mercy.
I don’t think this Humane Human-TimeLord relationship was oft repeated in the old series though…
8 May 2013 at 19:28 #8251@jimthefish – I’m sure you already know that the Moonbase DVD is due for release on October 21st.
”The Phantom Piper! No! I’ll no go wi’ ye, Piper!!!”
7 May 2013 at 23:59 #8185Matured for half a century… This tickled me…..
From Script Writer Cecil Edwin ‘Bunny’ Webber’s General Notes on Background and Approach (to Dr Who) May? 1963
Was it by means of Dr. Who’s machine that Aladin’s [sic] palace sailed through the air? Was Merlin Dr. Who? Was Cinderella’s Godmother Dr. Who’s wife chasing him through time? Jacob Marley was Dr. Who – slightly tipsy, but what other tricks did he get up to that Yuletide?
Find the full story here:
7 May 2013 at 23:39 #8183@Everyone – The Dr’s greatest secret is that he ate the Leadworth ducks with a nice plum sauce…
7 May 2013 at 23:24 #8179I wonder what the new Cybermen will sound like? High hopes for this episode.
7 May 2013 at 23:03 #8176Oy! Clara!
File extension YCB (Unknown or unassigned file extension edited by AtoZ) is not a common file format. Use YCB File Repair Software/Program – these easy-to-use tools are quite helpful to open a YCB file, edit a YCB file, play a YCB file, convert a YCB file, run YCB… and subsequently: remember.
The ‘Echo Imprint of the Original’ should also be restored…
If that doesn’t work, lay off the Limbo-Vapour.
( Thanks, @bluesqueakpip )
7 May 2013 at 21:51 #81567 May 2013 at 01:55 #8093Crimson Horror reminded me a little bit of ‘How To Get Ahead in Advertising’ – which starred : Richard E Grant!
7 May 2013 at 00:54 #8088This is very *spoilery* even though it’s official (I think!)! You have been warned!
It’s a series trail from CBBC from over a month ago (How did I miss this one?)

Rare glimpses of the future…
7 May 2013 at 00:32 #8082This is pretty spoilery but it is ‘official’. You have been warned!!!
