@ichabod Surprisingly I like GoT -its an intriguing collection of tied together
dungeons and dragons plot lines in a sort of epic soap opera kind of way. How can
one resist all that. Anyway, I like relaxing and enjoying the production value of
it too.On another subject: http://dangerousminds.net/comments/dainty_teacups_filled_with_cthulhu
odd Oods in teacups! hm??25 March 2015 at 19:10 #39208@whisht It gets even better- check out some of the vid options that pop up at the end
of the Wednesday vid! The 1 with Lurch dancing with Wednesday is just too much fun for

25 March 2015 at 18:54 #39207@jimthefish I am a HUGE! blues fan too. There is a local blues radio show around
here called ‘Mick Martins Blues Party’ every Saturday afternoon on our local public radio:http://www.capradio.org/programs/mick-martins-blues-party
4 powerful hours of blues every Saturday and a lot of it is very RARE recordings!
you can access all of it on the website above – I love it to pieces! it’s very Yum! 🙂I’m suspecting you are also a bit of a Blues fan from your posts
Very often I specifically tune in on a Saturday afternoon to catch Micks show25 March 2015 at 13:38 #39205So in case anyone wants to know the song Wednesday Addams was getting down with
its called “I don’t want to fall in love’ by the LA group called ‘
She wants Revenge’. It was a big hit around these parts a few years back.
Ready with my Thursday offering folks 🙂25 March 2015 at 04:01 #39191@Purofilion Thursday will be a lot more sophisticated. Promise
25 March 2015 at 03:27 #39190@purofilion That was Wednesday’s song of course.
Please don’t say you never saw the Addams Family? Say it isn’t so! 🙂25 March 2015 at 00:26 #39186@purofilion You snuck in with my Wednesday tune ! Unfair 🙁
Oh dear oh dear oh dear ! But I think I know how we can remedy this….
So how’s this instead for my Wednesday song?24 March 2015 at 20:21 #39181The right link -apologies!
{ I have a naughty history on screwing up my links here ) 🙁24 March 2015 at 20:18 #39180James Cordon previously a companion to SmithDoc for a too short period of time and in
too few Who episodes. But now he’s the head kahuna of the Late Late Show.
So just for a laugh here he is in a funny bit with Tom Hanks….. enjoy! 🙂24 March 2015 at 03:47 #39157Do we have any Game of Thrones fans here? I didn’t start watching until the 3rd season and
then I wanted to watch the whole thing in a marathon. I think its very good stuff. So does
Margaret Atwood apparently and she wrote about it in the Guardian along with a few others.
Maybe someone saw the piece but in case you haven’t and would like to here’s the link

I’m posting the Tuesday tune = a classic from the 70’sHope there are some Moodies fans here 🙂
23 March 2015 at 22:32 #39146@whisht Of course its fun for me getting to share a little
daily musical treat with all the Who-stersStay tuned! Got some good melodies coming! 🙂
23 March 2015 at 20:12 #39144I have sort of been here before with weekday songs so its like a bit of a cheat
cause I already have 1 for all the days 😉 I’ll post them for everyone as we
go along thru the week23 March 2015 at 18:14 #39141Here is a Monday song
flashback to the 80’s
Its making me feel like its time to get out
my big hoop statement earrings… maybe? 🙂22 March 2015 at 22:48 #39109@ichabod @Bluequeakpip So the Essenes? I think there was a greek philosopher that
wrote about them. Did they have families? Maybe a lot did and a lot didn’t
Weren’t there some gospels found that said maybe Jesus had a wife too?
like the Doctor says in Listen “how do you know”?
The Dan Brown delusional freemason illuminati conspiracy one world order fun.
My favorite parts were following those connections he tried to make.
Our species is so good at propagating ideas 🙂22 March 2015 at 20:42 #39107@ichabod I’ve read that too. Well that’s cause ‘certain’ people didn’t vote
particularly in a recent election.
With the big presidential vote coming I hope those ‘certain’ voters come out and
swing the government away from where we are. In which case I will still be a Warren
fan then too.22 March 2015 at 20:09 #39105@ichabod I’m basically on the same page as your are regarding Jesus having kids
Its common sense when you think about how they all lived in those communities which
many later doctrines barely take that bit into account . Today for instance I caught
Governor Brown calling out Sen Cruz about conflating common sense global warming and
NT creationism myth. But why worry about global warming when the Kingdom is at hand/
Hate to be I’m saying this in a public place 😉 but the GOP game show line up is
so ‘messed up’ on so many levels! Why don’t we just give the job to Hillary for Geesh
sakes. Plus I’m so fed up over those candidates that cant/wont separate
their religion and state. Unfortunately we wont be done with this. Oh no no…
I’ve been seeing comparisons between Isis and the Evangelicals around the net
I’m a Elizabeth Warren fan truth be told.22 March 2015 at 05:13 #39067@Purofilion The problem was that the Teddy Bear didn’t have any Doctor traits.
It was wrong and Boy must have instinctually realized this. This is my best
explanation as to why it ended up across the room and I’m sticking to it.22 March 2015 at 05:01 #39066@Purofilion A Stuffed Teddy Doctor ? We can start a business of Doctor costumes
for Teddy bears and how about each one gets the special device that makes you invisible
which would work for @ichabod‘s invisible friend idea! I like it! Then we can go on
that crazy ‘Sharks” show and get a boat load of investment cash to pursue the dream.
Hey! I believe you are onto to something girlfriend! Ready to give it a go……… 🙂22 March 2015 at 02:59 #39064@ichabod Needless to say I knew I could rely on you make all the obvious points I
didn’t get into 😉 But I bet Jesus had some kids although I’ve never seen the Doctor
wearing sandals. So there ya goI saw lots of posting about the strange notions on the Messiah stuff but didn’t think
actually you were suggesting Jesus.22 March 2015 at 00:51 #39061@bluesqueakpip – I get the political conflicts aspects. I meant more
as individuals than I meant as groups. Unfortunately the mentality does
change radically once we form ‘units’. It leans towards conflicts and
differences rather then that which brings people together.
I guess the opposite would be a one world order situation? I don’t see that either.
Still no one can deny where their ancestors come from and most people don’t
try to do that. So even though the Sunnis and Shiites don’t deny the cultural
heritages are different they just strongly disagree with what they stand for.
I dunno, in my mind there is a subtle difference.22 March 2015 at 00:29 #39058@ichabod I don’t see the Doctor as a Jesus figure at all. Not in any incarnation
of him. I think we shouldn’t try to conflate regeneration with resurrection. I
also don’t like the notion of making him God like. I rather stick with super hero.[Btw – the post before this 1 was for you.]
22 March 2015 at 00:07 #39057@ Ichabod in hindsight your correct in pointing out that Campbell was a bit
chauvinistic and narrow minded in how his translation of the old stories. But
his tales were great story telling non the less. I remember like @arbutus following
the entire series and how popular it was with folks. I also think I follow you
on your point about having faith and/or having as a cultural back round.
They are two different things. We have many more cultures on planet Earth than
we have faiths. People don’t try to deny other peoples culture heritage generally speaking.
That’s a good thing too.
On the imaginary friend idea and stuffed animals. That’s interesting but what shall
I tell my imaginary friend that doesn’t live in a stuffed animal? I hope this knowledge
will not be a great disappointment for ‘it’.
Apoligies I cant find who said the Doctor reminded them of a Victorian explorer scientist
He also reminded me of Professor Quartermass too. I loved that old series.21 March 2015 at 18:07 #39039BTW – The more I think about it its a nice concept giving someone a stuffed Doctor as
protector against the strange and impossible and hostile incursions! ‘Their very own
angel from the stars’ In a bed or on the shelf — might have to fit 1 into my everyday
life 😉21 March 2015 at 17:25 #39036Joseph Campbell did a series of interview with Bill Moyers where he elaborates
on his writings and these are absolutely lovely and filled with extensive
visual treats. Its a very excellent series21 March 2015 at 16:56 #39035@ichabod @Purofilion @Janette @mudlark and all — Emotional changes happen ‘under the
blanket’ of darkness. Its a sign of intelligence to be inquisitive about what is in the dark
as opposed to those that suppress knowing the secrets. But something that seems at least to
me to be even stranger is sleeping with stuffed animals like a teddy bear. lol no really!!
Ok so no judging here but are these creatures supposed to protect you from those other
potential creatures that you cant see in the dark or under the bed or in the closet?
I never did that but my daughter has 2! Its definitely a comfort mechanism for sure for some.
I wonder if there is anyone out there sleeping with a stuffed Doctor in bed?
In any case, I liked the way the Doctor and Clara tried to peel away the layers of fear for
young Danny. Very well done indeed!20 March 2015 at 03:43 #38984@Janette The Hub is brilliant! 🙂 It’s 1 of the reasons I will look at
FB (and the gardening pages and science and sci fi pages and there are the
pages called ‘Printcave’ or ‘Book Shelf Porn” that are full of incredible images
and so on but I also have my favorite cheeseburger restaurant on my ‘likes’!)
Well just a few friends but they are really not the point 😉It’s also nice to check the Hub during the hiatus – Its a lot like this forum in
that it shares many little treats for the Who-ster community.19 March 2015 at 18:55 #3897717 March 2015 at 01:11 #38896@ichabod —- Tempering is a strengthening process. Schism a sort of
split or tear. So my interpretation basically is weakness in the structure and/or
divisions in the Vortex [which means fluid or flowing]. Whoever came up with this
threw together all sorts of physics. But it sounds really cool16 March 2015 at 02:36 #38873@schmitty918 http://www.upworthy.com/in-125-years-millions-of-people-have-looked-at-this-painting-no-one-really-saw-it-until-now?c=bl3

16 March 2015 at 02:27 #38872@ichabod So at the top of the page I posted the term affection confliction to
describe the pathology of Mismaster and I still like it a lot 😉16 March 2015 at 02:07 #38867@tenthdoctorftw I would say pretty much the same as Ichabod did in her previous post about
favorite Docs however I favor new who over the older series generally with 4th Doctor exceptions16 March 2015 at 02:02 #38866@ichabod So that’s an interesting story about 2 houses on the lot- “He killed his brother
so he had to leave the neighborhood’ its sad and a tiny bit funny, btw- Imeant tough not
turf [spelling issue there]Yes an obsession as in pathological fixation on constantly hacking into the Doctors life.
Its also both an entertainment and a devotion at the same time for her.16 March 2015 at 00:53 #38859@ichabod – I really never felt that the Doctor would ever relinquish control of the
situation to Mismaster. The Doc never lets her get away with manipulative games.I agree with you about Clara. She isn’t a total control freak but she does have
insecurities that effect her judgement . She needs to feel that she is competent
and up to the Doctors faith in her, Its been a turf season for her. I still think
going into next season she is a little fragile.16 March 2015 at 00:10 #38855@tenthdoctorftw Its amazing how dominant English as a global language is! I know the Internet
has a lot to do with that. Id bet English was easier for you then ancient Greek. Your English
is quite good.@ichabod Yes definitely Mismaster is a control freak! That’s never easy and often unpleasant.
But where is the behavior coming from. I think perhaps he was a sensitive kid and was
traumatized? So now he is insecure and it manifests itself as irrational control freak.
Kudos to the Doctor for trying to manage Mismaster calmly and patiently!! Remember that the
Mismaster keeps telling people to say something nice? He/she is hungry for praise because
of feeling so undermined. So the Doctor thanks and praises and it has a positive
effect but it wasn’t effective when the others said nice things. Shows that she respects
the Doctor but no empathy for others.
Btw- sounds like you might live in 1 of those mid century modern homes since you mention
the flat roof? They are so super popular now. I recently saw something about Eichler in
the LA Times and SF Examiner. I like them too. Especially the feeling of less is more
in those designs.15 March 2015 at 21:11 #38835@arbutus @Janette and everyone That is a perfect quote. So why does MisMaster want to
run the universe? Why did he turn into this sinister dystopian galifreyan that wants to
re-engineer the universe? Was it Rasilon that injected him with something like a computer
virus to do his bidding? There were hints about that in previous episodes. I think before
that happened the Master was born a normal being of privilege into a utopian environment.
It must have been before that change had happened that he knew joyous years with the Doctor.
So that’s why I’m just guessing the affection confliction stuff is happening between them.
I would really love to see more expansion on this because its one of my fav parts of the
whole series puzzle but in small doses would be just terrific!15 March 2015 at 16:21 #38814@janetteb Yep! Thanks for fixing me. I like your concept a lot too! Wondering if you can
think of any other novels with themes that would fit nicely for a Missmaster/Doctor past
history? There is definitely that outcast concept for sure. I’m guessing this is something
SM has spent some real time pondering over as well.15 March 2015 at 16:09 #38812@Barbara Lefty – Nice !
15 March 2015 at 00:35 #38797@ichabod I also wonder about Missmaster coping with mental illness in a split
personality sort of way that became her current regeneration. But that journey can
get too morbid and brutal and evil Mary Poppins for this show so I doubt we will
go there much.
In the Jude novel its basically about 2 cousins that fall in love and have an affair
but then stuff happens which causes suffering and Sue leaves although Jude doesn’t
want her to. It also involves class social mobility, higher education and so on.
I keep imagining what the long history between the Missmaster and Doctor might be.
I wonder if it could include these same themes?
He said when they were young they ran together and then something happened.
The Doctor isn’t telling what but we know he wasn’t the ‘victim’ of this incident.
However the other TL’s didn’t have a very high opinion of him either for a long time.
Why? So this implies a serious common history with the Doc and Mis for me
Its why I think there is some needy affection confliction thing for them – its seems
a very long love promise that still remains oddly intact and strangely 1 of my
favorite mysteries about the current series14 March 2015 at 23:00 #38795@ichabod Well since this is fundamentally British I’m just thinking now of 1 of
my favorite english novelists Thomas Hardy. He was a limits pusher in his time.
I think there is something to be said for exploring ‘mature’ themes even in Doctor Who.
So I’m thinking of something like Tess that sent the valentine that created all the
misunderstanding. That would work in the Missmaster/Doctor dynamic. Maybe the Jude the
Obscure story of love that crosses boundaries? Or how about something Virginia Woolf-ishy
since she wrote Orlando about a individual that lived a long time and has a sex change?
Need some more time to contemplate but I really think there is a big potential to create a
very intriguing story arc.14 March 2015 at 22:21 #38791Take a peek at MaxtheKatz channel on DM for Capaldi
The Lair is blocked by Liongate in USA – I can get around that but not sure
about other folksAlso thanks again for such an entertaining blogisphere ! cant stop
even though I did try to block myself from this new obsession14 March 2015 at 21:11 #38787@Bluessqueakpip I totally have all sorts of nifty notions about Missmaster and her
needy affection confliction with the Doc 😀 – I’d like to have a word with that
script team — lol!14 March 2015 at 18:11 #38776@purifilion – I totally concur that the Doctor is a remarkable gift to all of us!
@ichabod – Regarding Missmaster and your BDSM idea – or aka ‘come away with me in the night’
to the Doctor is so rich! Your right about some attraction being still alive to be sure
There was certainly some flirty thing going on with Missmaster and so what is that about?
Obviously she is ‘turned on’ by the Doctor. It does bother me sometimes that there is back
story that is out of reach but I guess that is part of what holds me like a fish on a hook
and I need to keep seeing all these characters again and again. I can almost dream what has
been even though I know SM will have surprises for me, So as you say- if TL’s have long
term relationships interrupted by regeneration then could it be possible that something
happened with Missmaster a very long time ago that has awakened in ‘her’ in her current
regeneration but in the Doctor not so much? hm…. this is just too much fum
D13 March 2015 at 23:14 #38738@bluesqueakpip Cute Tardigrades??? well ok. All I know is that they looked to me a bit
like something I expected to see in Captain Jacks monster files.
But isn’t nature amazing!13 March 2015 at 23:01 #38737@Barbara Lefty Hello Sweetie ! What a totally splendid compliment that was and thank you!
Since Spring has arrived I hope we all get out a bit to enjoy the wonderful weekend. I’m
planning to play in the garden myself and theorize some more about the Doctor. Also, happy to
be with all of you too!13 March 2015 at 18:26 #38729http://www.bbc.com/earth/story/20150313-the-toughest-animals-on-earth?ocid=fbert
Tardis and Tardigrades and space? I kept conflicting both of these while reading
and there was even a mention of Doctor Who type monsters in this article! Is this
about strange creatures or could this be the Doctors home? I kept wanting to muck
both up!
They both have neat tricks —- anyway just something a bit odd13 March 2015 at 05:06 #38721Just been wondering about how big Galifrey is in its current location? I always
liked the notion of Timelords being able to hide in something the size of a
pocket watch. So if size doesn’t matter and if Missy has possibly done something
with Galifrey then maybe its sitting inside the Matrix on her desk?
Nah- too weird
But maybe if I could match the Coordinates to the Matrix? I cant believe that
I dedicate extra time on the clock to thinking this stuff up lol!!!11 March 2015 at 01:50 #38692I think I may have to explain my last post a bit more- what I mean to say is that ultimately
I just feel very passive in my overall attitude about a certain variety of fan even though
I find them a little frustrating,10 March 2015 at 21:47 #38687@Barbara Lefty _ I really enjoy your descriptive way of putting things. “Puts science in a very
short dress and takes it out on a date” is brilliant! Its a great formula isn’t it? It finds success
all over TV and movies. I actually do think however there is something about DW that attracts
some fans who connect a lot with the technical bits. Its hard for me to look at DW thru their eyes
but like you its also all good with me too.10 March 2015 at 03:23 #38670@purofilion -Ok using the word rational in the last post may be hypothetically the wrong choice
because sometimes its not even about that. In any case I find it dispiriting too. -
