    @xxtheshadowhunter:   Hello there *waves*

    This is a marvellous forum, so if you are a true Whovian you are in for a terrific time.

    Watched last night.  Turned off the TV and thought: “Did I enjoy that one?”

    Answer: YES I did.

    I shall watch again  carefully, because there is something wrong with the scene in the vault with Missy and co. Perhaps I’m wrong, but I can’t quite work out what it is that bothers me? Other than that I liked it.

    Looking forward to reading all yo…[Read more]

    @pedant:

    Haven’t heard this.

    @janetteb:

    I never hated London, my only mistake was to take all it had to offer for granted. All that history – “oh well, it will still be there tomorrow.”  Trouble was, we weren’t. We left on a whim, but that doesn’t mean we have been unhappy here.

    Mmm!

    Just had a quick squizz at the posts. (avoiding spoilers) It sounds as if not many of you liked it. I shall find out tonight.

    I haven’t watched any of the atrocity and I don’t want to. My OH told me about it this morning and I have steadfastly avoided it. This doesn’t mean that I don’t care, I do, too much and the anger I feel is almost overwhelming.

    Although we have lived here in OZ for decades, London is the city in which I was born and I still love it. Being the k…[Read more]

    @serahni:    I just stopped enjoying Who.  Season 9 was arduous

    That’s almost blasphemous! *grins*

    Ever since PC became the Doctor (except for the rare episode because of the writing) the show has been superb.

    I loved 8/9/ and now 10, with, as I said, exceptions. Surely you can’t have found fault with “Heaven Sent?”

  • On thing which puzzled me – I knew there was something I meant to say.

    In earlier episodes, the Doctor, when meeting an alien he doesn’t recognise, demands to know their name. One wonders why he didn’t do so this time?

    As my OH would say, “because it isn’t in the script!” But then he isn’t a Who fan, so that sort of comment is to be expected.…[Read more]

    I didn’t get to see DT as Hamlet, but did see Olivier, Branagh and Cumberbatch’s versions. Enjoyed all three so differently played,. BC’s was the most up to date, plus helped me to sympathise with  the character at last. I always found him to be a weak man  until I saw BC’s adaptation.

    Well we’ll soon find out won’t we.  I have to say that I’d rather not know until I actually see the episode – and THIS time, I shan’t watch the trailer afterwards.

    @mudlark: Quite right, I was. *blushes*  My apologies @abaath:

    @blenkinsopthebrave: Thanks for the video.  Looks very good, so many great actors.  Love the way KB pronounces “Hercule Poirot.” The only drawback is that we all know who done it!

    Aha! Multiple choice.  How about (C) None of the above.  they could simply be different aliens.

    Then again, their bosses could be Mondasian Cybermen?

    I was watching Wedding of River song last night, and of course there was a pyramid in that too.

  • It could be that the Doctor agreed to an attack, just to see what the monks would do? Know your enemy – sort of thing?

    As for the students wondering why he wore dark glasses suddenly, perhaps like Bill, they were too  polite to ask personal questions?

    @abaath: Welcome. My goodness, you have a lot to look forward to. It will be interesting to know who your favourite Doctor is when you have seen all of them. The Unearthly Child was written by Steven Moffat, no wonder you enjoyed it. *grins*

  • First of all, what tragic news about Steven Moffats’ Mother. That poor man! Imagine attempting to write anything when you have to sit and watch your mother die! I wasn’t aware that Peter Capaldi’s Mother had died before he became the Doctor either.

    I’ve watched this episode four times now and each time I loved it more. Although it lacked some of…[Read more]
