This is a much better paced, more ‘fun’ episode than last week. Probably because they now have a lot of plot to get through – get Leela and Rodan outside, bring Borusa in on the plot, develop a resistance movement through Andred.
And room for some terrible puns. ‘A matter of time,’ indeed.

The weakness of the Time Lords; they’re utilitarian…[Read more]

@craig  So I got the time to watch this and I really enjoyed it again. I think it has aged well and it was fun to see the 11th Doctor and Amy and Rory. Once again the Tardis has taken them where they need to be and not where they want to be so Amy has to wear her Rio clothes through the adventure.

Something has gone wrong at the mine and while…[Read more]

Inside this episode is a perfectly good plot, screaming to get out.

Unfortunately, that perfectly good plot would only take up about twelve minutes of screen time. Given that the two writers – Anthony Read and Graham Williams – were struggling with both the after effects of a production strike and having to write a replacement script in…[Read more]

@craig  I will watch this one tomorrow while Sunday dinner is cooking.

@craig   Welcome back!  I got all of the 11th Doctor’s series for Christmas so I am ready for this one and although I have watched it I will again before I comment.Thanks, I am excited about this as it has been a long winter.

Welcome back @craig!

And you return bearing treats! You are a beneficent Emperor indeed.

@craig

Yippee! Will watch this tomorrow – which is kind of appropriate, given the Sunday slot for the Whittaker Doctor.

Glad you’re back, even if you did have to take a year-long detour to get here. 🙂

@craig

Looks like it is time for a new Music thread…

Apparently, Elizabeth thinks we’re a dating site. Are we a dating site? I didn’t know we were a dating site.

I’ve been doing this all wrong….

😉

@craig, @bluesqueakpip, or anyone who can solve the issue, I suspect that I am not the only person to receive an email from Elizabeth who wants to share her fortune…

@craig

A dubious entity calling itself Elizabeth Barron has just messaged me, purporting to be a wealthy widow on the point of popping her clogs who wants my assistance in distributing her millions to the needy. Why am I suspicious of this philanthropy 🙄

Okay, I’ve been thinking about our BG episode recap discussions.

Generally, we’ve run them as follows: @craig sets up a thread for each episode in the story, we discuss them. But that puts a lot of work on Craig, who has to set up a new thread weekly. That became apparent during The Invasion of Time discussion, when it just wasn’t possible for…[Read more]

^^^^^^ Something in this thread does not belong ^^^^^^^

@bluesqueakpip, @winston, @janetteb By golly, we did discuss it back then. Of course, I have entered the phase of life when what I did yesterday is often a mystery to me…

Until @craig is back on deck (best wishes) might I suggest that if you can find a copy on a streaming service or online (particularly those who might not have seen much early…[Read more]

@craig  No problem, I have a bunch of Who to watch and a whole lot of time on my hands so I can certainly wait. I hope everything in your life goes smoothly, these days its the most we can ask for.

@craig, @bluesqueakpip, @thane16, @winston, @janetteb, @cathannabel, and, well, everybody

I mentioned this before, but, I think it would be a great idea if we could have a discussion about Dr Who again. After all, that is why we are here.

So @craig, (and everyone) what about “The Meddling Monk”?

@craig

I have a Marie Cooper from the US  ‘army’ giving me her private email wanting to reveal information 🙂

Puro.

@blenkinsopthebrave   I think it would be fun to look back at older episodes of Who and discuss them and I hope @craig  considers it. I am lacking in my knowledge of BG Who and it would be mostly new to me, in fact I admit to never watching “The Meddling Monk”. Sorry.

Hi @craig

Since we have a very long wait for new Who, do you think we might revisit some old Who to discuss?

And I mean really old Who. Specifically, “The Meddling Monk”.

@craig

Have seen it  and really rate it. Still waiting for series two. However, I still feel that Jodie (blimey that name gets around) Comer should have won best actress. she was terrifying.
