wellย can’t copy the link but cultbox has an interview (well they quote an answer) regarding the face form Torchwood and Fires of Pompeii ie our new Doctor my wild guess is that the Doctor can imprint faces that have had a strong effect on him….. so one day the Doctor will look like Clara ๐Ÿ˜‰

Great idea, I have been musing on new monsters in idle moments on site (not many as this site has lot and lots of little issues to solve and more irritatingly no 3G service!!! hence my general silence recently ๐Ÿ™ …. )

I remember the Sontarans from the Tom Baker and Harry(?) episode where the Doctor bluffed them into believing he was the warrior caste for Earth and that the humans were only serfs. Back then the Sontarans were not cuddly in any way at all.

Ooops meant also to say that the dark energy entity is not taking anyone before their time just spiriting them away immediately rather than letting them decay to eventually become dark matter then dark energy…

A couple of great ides @whisht and @haveyoufedthefish

A Govish would be quite terrifying spinning their way out of trouble, with no-one ever quite able to pin them down ๐Ÿ˜‰

@juniperfish Yes I enjoy foes who are not all bad too, the Daleks as composers though, what sort of music would they create?

I think we could have two types of “monster” creation, a one episode special and the Everest, a new “Dalek” type

Since 9 we have had some brilliant new foes, the Angels, the Vashta Nerada and the Silence in Torchwood we had the 456 and governments of Earth as child snatching villains (as a parent it struck viscerally home)

The Sea Devils really worried me as a child (in fact hmmm) and unexpected noises in the dark/night. I remember being woken by an owl, at about age 8, hooting outside my bedroom window, I was in my parents room in nanoseconds.

So a quick one here “The Dark Matter”

The Tardis materialises and our intrepid duo/trio are off to sight-see some fantastical northern lights, they meet up with another group of elderly campers who are off to do the same.

As they make their way to the viewing point and it grows dark, the breeze is heard rustling the leaves on some nearby trees, then no rustling, a torch is shone but one tree has gone.

As night falls they all bed down, an elderly couple in the group, she wakes up to see her partner popping outside, the tent blows in the breeze and the partner dissolves into the ground.

Slowly through the long night more of the elderly are sucked into the earth and a rainbow of light flickers away.

The Doctor works out that after a few more disappearances that the polar lights are in fact “the souls” of the departed of anything plant or animal that dies naturally on this planet.

The breeze is seen by the Doctor or companion as a shadowy dark shadow and eventually contact is made.

The shadows are a fusion of dark matter and energy trying to re-balance the universe after the re-boot from the Pandorica as the universe is so new there is not enough dark energy or matter in the universe to make it stable. So the dark energy is messing with the Pauli Exclusion Principle to absorb matter and energy into itself to preserve the whole universe.

Waay too much coffee on a sleepless night and profuse apologies to those who actually understand physics.

Been musing on an idea which could be a a bit of fun… a Forum brain storm on creating a a brand new foe for the Doctor.

    Would anyone be interested?

Should this be a private, members only (and therefore potentially commercial) effort or open for all to read and add to/comment on?

@whisht I was just pondering on this too as I wikipedia’ered the GI stories of yester-Who and it would make a ripping yarn.

The one problem I see is that the Doctor is looking hard at/for Clara and it would have to be a really cunning disguise to make Clara a wrong-un and fool him. This also makes it harder for Clara to be a bad Tardis girl too

@janetteb Craig has stuffed me back into a pocket watch (with extra bobbins) so I appear normal (well as close as I can get)

@scaryb yes my posh title is geotechnical engineer but I make giant mudpies for a living…. when there is work that is lol

When I posted about Idris/Clara I didn’t see her as being potentially evil just because she was the Masters Tardis…. but that could really work… I was thinking more of a being that could move through time, be complex, mess with Daleks (as Rose did when Tardis Bad Wolf Eye Heart thingy). I thought a Tardis would be it’s own entity. But this could be a way to bring the Master back too. Especially if he has a lucky hand stashed too.

The Doctor and his Tardis stole each other but the Master (and maybe the Timelords as a whole) seemed to use his as machine not an entity. Tardis=Timelord Ood? relationship.

Well this would be later then ….

One evening many years ago (the last century no less) I popped into the wine shop in Headcorn and whilst considering which Rioja to buy and reching one out to read the label a voice to my side “Ohh I’ll have one of those too please young man”.

I nearly dropped the darn thing it was The Doctor!!!!

He, the proprietor and I had a 20 min chat about wine, medical doctors and their potential cannabis habits and life in general, eventually I plucked up the courage to tell thank him for helping make my childhood special (I knew that he had in the past been a little off about Who). He was perfectly charming and it was not a let down to meet an extra special member of Who-dome

Was just musing on 50th Anniversary Special and had a thought that really belongs here…..

Also whilst wandering up and down the garden path, having a cig and staring at the stars, an idle thought regarding Tardisโ€™s Tardissโ€™ Tardisi is not the Masters own Tardis still stuck somewhere in the Year 100 Trillion (or thereabouts) on Malcassario?
    Bear with me….
So could our Impossible Woman be the Masters Idris?

    #2231
    Rob @replies

I really hope that the 11th Doctor isn’t regenerated off either this series or in the 50th Special. It would feel too contrived.

As to the concept of all previous Doctors (male or female) turning up wouldn’t that require the power of the Timelords to achieve (correct me if I am wrong but in the 3 and 5 didn’t they have to arrange some super duper timey wimey stuff to make tthis happen?).

I think that all the Doctors could be together as they are all different incarnations of the same being but all 11 have the same Tardis so wouldn’t she have problems?

Also whilst wandering up and down the garden path, having a cig and staring at the stars, an idle thought regarding Tardis’s Tardiss’ Tardisi is not the Masters own Tardis still stuck somewhere in the Year 100 Trillion (or thereabouts) on Malcassario?

And now to jump to Series 7 Part 2 Speculation for another thought……..

@craig wow Sea Devils!!! One of my all time gave me nightmare monsters, lived near the sea and that idea freaked me for quite a while. Hmm live close to the sea again now!!!

Had a random thought, could our impossible woman have been scattered through the timerverse by some sort of Tardis mishap? Bad Wolf in humonoid form?

My first Doctor was JP, I was allowed to watch the series after much pestering. My best friend Alan had watched the previous series but he had three older brothers…

Anyway that first season for me was mainly spent hiding behind the sofa but shop dummies astronauts murdering people and lizardmen whirl around my mind. One story absolutely rocked my world for a while…. The Sea Devils, I lived about a mile and a half from the sea and was totally freaked by the concept of the Sea Devils and their lamp guns. The other two stories that in JP’s era are burned into my mind are The Green Death and Planet of the Spiders, along with THE Master Roger Delgado

Tom Baker was (as Nine would say) fantastic, more later…

    Could Clara be Jenny?

I know they kissed which would need some de-yukkifying

My other thought is she could be another conceived in the/a Tardis baby (daughter of The Master?)

Too much time spent in the cold on site today twiddling my thumbs

If the 50th is about family then…..

The Doctor’s family is like the Tardis …. bear with me… at first it seems very small, all consumed by The Time War. Then to my way of thinking the harder you look the bigger it gets, companions, those he has inspired to do great things, those whose life he has touched directly, then indirectly and then bursting through the fourth wall those in real life. Well it made sense to me when I started typing… not so sure now

Harry for some strange reason has stayed with me, I don’t think he was a companion for long or if he even travelled off world, an ex sailor and doctor. He just resonated.

My first Dr was JP and I became casual with Peter Davison and Colin Baker, missed virtually all of Sylvester McCoy (sport then becoming technically a grown-up). Then we got the special with Paul McGann …. so dragging myself back to the thread…

    You-Reek-Ahh

My wife having told me to have a bath, I contemplated not just my naval but also Madam Vastra’s one word quizzing of Clara and the answer “Pond”

I think it has been theorised as telepathy but it occurred to me that Clara who had perused, used and wiped the Dalek database would know about the Ponds just as she showed with Run you clever boy a link from Clara to Clara to Clara (continues till impossible woman/astronaut?????) riddle is solved. At which point we will all have been proved wrong once again ๐Ÿ™‚
