The Doctor enters a seemingly deserted spaceship, his senses prickling with nervous tension. He whips out the sonic and as he waves it the sonic field illuminates sections of Dalek….

The plan was Weymouth to Beaminster via Dorchester and Cerne Abbes about 30 miles
We got to Weymouth though it had rained (that word may crop up more than once in this post) most of the way but it had petered as we approached our start point, the old town pump. it was just after 06:30
Sporting my black and red hose (medieval joggies!) and white shirt, with Jammy Dodgers stashed in the boot of the support car, the journey began.
Alas an hour into the walk the rain began too, it rained and rained and rained.
Dorchester hove into view through the rain and the promise of coffee raised my spirits, alas the superstore didn’t have a cafe, so a quick change of clothes and we diverted a little off route in search of coffee and a toastie. More rain but a cafe was found and your damp (yup already) heroes drank hot beverages befo0re setting off again determinedly heading for Cerne Abbes.
It carried on raining, we carried on walking, repeat for 8 miles
Cerne Abbes hove into view and minor miracle it stopped raining becoming merely overcast with occasional drizzle 🙂 Another change of clothes was required.
The giant and his member were being grazed upon by sheep, the flock, at times, gave the scene a pornographic lilt. Obviously it was time to leave Cerne Abbes and head for Beaminster.
There now follows a short rant about how hills are never ever ever properly portrayed on maps, paper or digital!!!!! When you walk uphill for half a lifetime, or so it seems, come to the crest an another bugger looms into view it can be quite disheartening, almost enough to make a man eat a Jammy Dodger, but at least it wasn’t raining……
Top of the second bugger, that’s when it started raining again!
The route to Beaminster was rolling hill after rolling hill after rolling hill with light rain followed by heavy rain followed by cats dogs and many many other mammals that conjure up images of rain.
As 19:00 approached we’d been walking soaked to the skin for about 2 hours and with 2.8 miles to Beaminster it was time to call a sensible halt, my head knew it but my heart was yelling at me “it’s only a couple of miles!!!” by the time I’d got my last dry clothes I was starting to shiver I realised that it was exactly the right call.
So Day 1 was a success 😀

Tomorrow morning at approximately 06:30 I am starting a 220 mile charity walk from Weymouth to Tewkesbury to raise money for eight charities. I am walking over the next seven Saturdays with a final eighth day on 10th July.
Why split the walk I hear you say, well stage II/III arthritis in my left ankle is why and doctors orders and even more importantly my darling wife’s orders.
Those with’ goggle maps’ are also raising a wry eyebrow at the mileage, well apart from our beloved Dr Who I also have another bonkers hobby. For the past 22 years I have put on armour picked up the nearest heavy weapon and wacked other suitably attired nutters, as I joined a Lancastrian group we usually have to die with honour.
Last year at Tewkesbury my group The British Plate Armour Society decided to knight me after the battle re-enactment ….. A real wow moment 😀
Even though it means nothing in the real world I was chuffed to bits and thought about what becoming a real pretend knight meant. In the olden days it was a reward for good deeds done for your lord so to move this to a modern setting I decided to try and raise some money for charities I identify with.
I’ve digressed back to 220 miles, well what happened was in 1471 Queen Margaret landed at Weymouth and meandered via Chard, Exeter, Bath and Bristol trying to raise troops money etc before a mad dash to try and get to Wales to link up with the Welsh Lancastrians (the Tudors) meeting (well her army and son did) an unseemly end at Tewkesbury.
So those who have persevered this far what are the charities?

Thankfully the water missed us but cousins caught it bad down on the levels and work was an insane battle against water breaching into the contaminated site and then (even worsererer) leaving again, could have been a right royal eco mess, struggle over, containment successful and my thanks was end of contract so now looking for work lol@me 😀

She’s a psychopath, loves the Doctor, lives in a mainframe, doesn’t age, defeats (eventually) her inner and outer Daleks, can fly the Tardis and knows he shouldn’t be left alone or die alone
On the downside she also admires the new body, see every thory has a hole.
As to loose end tieing up of, the timey wimey nature of the Who-niverse always means each shoelace has multiple eyelets and multiple aglets for each eyelet
26 December 2013 at 12:15 #23399I must disagree with those who are disappointed with the fast regeneration, it wasn’t fast at all.
The regeneration starts after Clara implores the Timelords to help the Doctor who has kept them safe for hundreds of years, surely earning a new set of regenerations ( 12 and 24 hour clock). The process ccontinues and defeats the Daleks, gives the Doctor back a youthful appearance, gives him a chance to see Amelia and Amy once more, say goodbye to Clara and reassure her at the same time before we get (as always at least in my memory a glimpse at the new Doctor) at the very end our new Doctor.
Now others far smarter than wot I is, you know who you are, though if pushed I will @ you 😛 , will explore the timeline and plot thoroughly explaining it.

You need coffee-sip for colds and flu, its a well known fact that caffeine cures all known malaise’s especially with a tot or two or three of something you like in it, in fact I’ll guarantee after 5 such coffees you’ll be feeling quite happy

Long theories should be posted in a blog, not on the boards as a wall of text is hard to read and awkward to argue or agree with succinctly
New posters who start off trollish are in fact almost certainly trolls and should be squished toot sweet ( courtesy of CCBB )
Communication through the written word is easily misconstrued and good manners become elevated in this context
This site is fantastic and I thank those that help keep it that way

7 December 2013 at 08:57 #22334My simple take on the curator was that (apart from being Tom Baker Squeeeeeeeeee) it was showing us that the Doctor had in fact taken faces from his past/future.
The Curator can be seen just as someone who has had an impact on the Doctors life so their visage was used in regeneration.
Alternatively the Curator maybe where the essence of a regenerated Timelord ends up in a mortal body sort of thing like Doctor 10b with Rose in Alternative Universe.
So he may be the so the Curator may or may not be The Fourth Doctor, I think he is both 😛

on Quantum Mechanics sooooooo (pause to laugh as I mangle theory into Who)
Space is mostly nothing so one part of the theory is that all electrons are linked together throughout the Universe, thus everything is sort of everywhere all the time, here’s my mangle, all matter was created during the Big Bang, the outermost edges of the universe are therefore the same electrons as existed then.
Thus if an electron can be in two or more places at once it must also be probable that the same electron can be in two different times at once

If The 13th Doctor turns up in the Time War then surely the Time War is still active during his own time stream? As I can’t remember a future Doctor being present bar when the Timelord Council tweaked with time to make the Valeyard? Correct me if wrong
Otherwise we could have had any number of future Doctors turning up to help move Gallifrey?
Or the whole story is actually being told from 13’s perspective making the episode historical

In a non subjunctive timey wimey sense this is not an opening of The TimeWar, it is a strategy developed to remove the Daleks from involvement in it
The First Doctor encountered them but the Fourth Doctor had a fleeting moment to destroy them and if memory serves me right he was sent there by the Timelords
The Daleks do not follow a linear path through series they are more like a really really really angry River
Bonkers is my middle name 😉
And editing a post on a tabletis enough to make a Dalek seem calm and restrained
