    @craig Here’s a pretty good cover version of Tomorrow Never Knows from the soundtrack of the film Sucker Punch. Not seen the film, it’s supposed to be rubbish from what I’m told, although I heard that it’s developed something of a cult following.

    @whisht It’s actually a rejected theme for the Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies that was released as the b-side to Help the Aged. The original version with Jarvis Cocker singing “Tomorrow never Dies” is included a bonus track on the deluxe edition of This is Hardcore.

    Anyway here’s Maybe Tomorrow by The Iveys, or as they later became known as, Badfinger.

    I didn’t see this or the previous two episodes on broadcast, and in fact didn’t watch them until about two years ago. I knew who River was since I’d already seen her later episodes, but I knew absolutely nothing about Midnight other than it was supposed to be really good. Well it is really good, in fact I would say it’s probably RTD2’s best. As you can probably tell by my username, I like stories where people are slowly taken over by alien hosts. It is very dark, but I think Who should always have an element of darkness too it. Also watch out for cameo’s by Patrick Troughton’s son and Merlin.

    Sorry it’s taken so long for me to comment, I’ve only just got around to watching it. It wasn’t as enjoyable or well paced as the first episode, but it was far from bad. Love the bit where he shows them the TARDIS to prove he’s a time lord.
    Realistically this is how the conversation should have gone:

    The Doctor: This proves that I am who I say I am so you can let me go now, even though it doesn’t prove I didn’t kill anyone and I’m technically still a suspect.

    Sir Robert: Oh Jesus! Oh God! Oh Jesus! Mary mother of Jesus! Jesus of Nazareth!

    @purofilion We’ve only got a couple here in Newcastle as well. The one I went to was The Tyneside Cinema. I’ve seen several other classic films there like Jaws, Alien, Hitchcock’s The Lodger, Nosferatu, Psycho and even Dalek Invasion Earth 2150ad.

    I hope they show Help! for it’s 50th anniversary next year as well.

    I’ve never seen this one before and I actually really enjoyed it. I really wasn’t expecting much, so I was pleasantly surprised. So far, even though it’s about the same length as a Nu-Who episode, it seems to be better paced. Nyssa seems to be an important part of the story, what with her double and that and Tegan isn’t irritating, in fact I don’t think she moaned once throughout the entire episode. Adric is still bloody useless though.

    Oh by the way, did anyone else have 30 second adverts pop up every 5 minutes when they watched it?

    @purofilion I agree about film scores being crap nowadays. Aside from a couple, they are so unmemorable. I think that the problem is that pretty much all the great film composers are no longer with us, except for John Williams and Ennio Morricone. But Williams has just been repeating himself for the past few years, and neither of them is going to be here for very much longer. After that we’ll be stuck with Hanz Zimmer and that bloody “brummmm” sound effect he thinks is proper music.

    @fosterferris I completely agree, well except for the bit about preferring the new series. Not that there’s anything wrong with that mind you, at least you’ve bothered to give the older stuff a watch which is more than I can say for some so-called fans.
    Tennant can be a bit of an overactor some times, but most of the time he’s really good, like in The Escape Artist and Hamlet.

    @whisht Love Edge of Darkness, although I do think that some of the environmental themes are a bit dated. I’ve not seen the remake either but I am glad it exists otherwise I might not have heard of the original. I saw the DVD in ASDA around the same time as the remake came out (I remember because it had a sticker on it that said “now a major motion picture”). I bought it knowing very little about it other than what the blurb on the back said and ended up loving it, so thank you Mel Gibson.
