Missy replied to the topic Peter Capaldi as the 12th Doctor
Whether we were responding to a troll or not, I wouldn’t know, didn’t sound like the usual. However, I agree with you
about values. As for Peter Capaldi’s Doctor, he was the most human of all. he felt everything and you could see that he did by his facial expressions. When nadole says to Bill :”That’s the Doctor for you. Never n…[Read more]

I’d say whilst CC is in charge, you won’t be seeing Rachel Talahay.
I’ve just started re-watching all the Doctors from 2005 .
As far as I can gather from posts, most of the recent episodes are a lesson in morals?
Still enjoyed your post. even though we do not agree.
My OH wasn’t keen on Steven Moffat – at least he said…[Read more]

Have just watched Silence in the Library and Forest of the Dead again, and still marvel at the pure genius of Steven Moffat.
To link it all together in Husbands of River Song and, in a small way, Doctor Mysterio shows a superb mind and talent.
God I miss him.

Allowing for by biased views on a female Doctor, I Read the article, and every point she made applies to each of the previous Doctors?
More likely she preferred a female Doctor, and that’s all right, but all the attributes mentioned can also be said of the first four males(2005)

Well, it just shows you that bad viewing numbers says more about the watchers than the stories – HEAVEN SENT for example? *shakes head*
Perhaps CC did ask Rachel and she decided against it. After her comments about SM being a genius (which I agree with ) she may have considered working for CC as a bit of a come down. *grins*
Then…[Read more]

You are entitled to your opinion, but I would argue the Worst? I don’t think there has been a Worst, just preferences.
As for Bill Potts to me she was more down to earth than Sarah Jane smith, bit I still liked her, and that’s simply my opinion.

Thank you for that, but I meant this last series. I knew about the above, as I always looked to see who wrote an episode and who directed.
Rachel Talahay is an excellent director, and I wondered whether CC had written anything for her to direct.
Whilst here, can anyone tell me why Steven Moffat should feel the need to apologise for his…[Read more]

All.
Out of curiosity, how many episodes did Rachel Talahay direct?
Friends I have asked noticed who wrote the episodes, but not who directed them.
Chris Chibnall wrote 7 out of 11 of them, I do know that. Russell T. Davis used to hog it too, unlike Steven Moffat he gave others a chance. There again, RTD was a good writer.

I watched that the other night, such fun although sad.
My young friend – well she is half my age with a family – did the Christmas visit yesterday. She brought up the 13th series of which she has only be able to watch 3 episodes – not for reasons you may think but lack of time. Like me she wasn’t looking forward to a female Doctor, but…[Read more]

We watched “Priscilla Queen of the Desert” last night. We hadn’t seen it for ages – now I shall buy it.
The irony was that it’s an Australian film which won awards, and yet it’s three main stars weren’t Australian.
Terence Stamp was born in London, Guy Pierce in Cambridgeshire and Hugo Weaving in Nigeria.
Wonderful film, which should have won…[Read more]

That’s wonderful! (the purse, I mean). I think they’re not over because (I suspect) after another 2 years they may well return to a male Doctor.
I meant to say that the purse is the Tardis, and I have some news. It got itself noticed again this morning by a married couple -I assume they were married, but who knows nowadays. I got t…[Read more]

I can but hope.
Thing is, at my age 2 years is a long time – I don’t even buy green bananas nowadays! *chuckle*
I stole that from Maggie Smith.
I shall never abandon you, there are other threads on here which do not deal with this series.
Don’t be put off, say what you feel – I do. Just because you don’t agree with the…[Read more]

You know very well I haven’t.
On my birthday, I was given a DW purse, which I hang on my shoulder bag.
This has attracted quite a few people – some I knew some I didn’t – and was asked if I watched it and what i thought.
I told them, asking what they thought.
All the comments are listed in my recent post, and they did watch…[Read more]

Welcome to the forum, I’ve been away for a while and cannot catch up now, but do read the posts – if they aren’t too long. *winks*
I haven’t watched any of this series, because I am against a female Doctor and I don’t like JW.
It has been said, that the show was a sort of spoof, a spin off, or a joke, because to them it isn’t Doctor…[Read more]

@ichabod Good grief, has I been away that long? Your post below.
I felt both the same, and the opposite — never knew, particularly in S8, which way he would jump, or how far he would go, but simultaneously there was no doubt whatever in my mind that this Doctor’s two hearts were positively molten with passion for decency, fairness, and kin…[Read more]

@pedant; Re replacing Teresa May
What a ghastly thought!
Also, hasn’t Doctor Who always told us the same? Except from what I have heard from viewers who aren’t Whovians,
this season is a series of lectures.

Wouldn’t that be a treat. don’t think he will though, he was pretty adamant that he wouldn’t be writing anymore episodes. It wasn’t sensible when one runs out of ideas – he said
Unlike you though, I wouldn’t grieve the loss of either of them. *shrugs*

All of the intros are good, at least i think so.
Blink? One of my favourites. However, the best one for me was Heaven Sent. Superb and imaginative writing, excellent acting – which would have been quite a challenge – sets and directing all superb. Both of course were by Steven Moffat. Ohh, and o…[Read more]

That is where we are different, I didn’t mind them changing it was exciting, and of course, I didn’t have a favourite.
You know how I feel so I shall not labour the point. When they bring back a Male lead, I’ll start watching again.
But alien? No. More Indiana Jones than Starman, so far. Clearly, this is just fine for the…
