That is indeed very sad news. I was a little bit in love with Halo Jones when I was young. He also did fine work on other characters – making Judge Dredd a skinny boy is bold but he pulled it off (and something I appreciate, being a skinny boy).

I think there are 3 options for RTD2’s / 15’s Big Bad:

1. Something new.

2. Something from a non-TV version of DW (similar to the Meep)

3. Something from the classic series.

Yes, I was wondering about the Vinx as well. I was reading somewhere about the likelihood of a UNIT spinoff. If that is indeed likely then I imagine RTD2 was establishing the look and the characters of the spinoff. Am assuming RTD2 will enlighten us in regard to the origins of Vinx at some point.

@ps1l0v3y0u Red was the Rani’s signature colour; she was given to wearing red gloves as I recall, to go with the rest of her red sparkly outfit. But as @PhaseShift and @Mudlark point out, the red nails might be a reference to the more recent “Cult of Saxon” which recalls RTD1 era’s John Simm Master.

@scaryb  I think the  HADS system is a trop used several times in Who over the years even in the BG era though I have to admit I am very hard pushed to remember what stories. I seem to remember it was used in the in a Pertwee era story and even in a Tom Baker story.
