Thanks for the TARDIS interior clip @Craig . Arwel was the designer on Moffat’s Sherlock, and he did an amazing job, so it’s great to have him on Who.

I absolutely LOVE the new TARDIS interior and felt quite emotional when the Doctor and the TARDIS reunited. The custard cream dispenser is brilliant, but the pinwheel design (which Arwel, in the…[Read more]

@Craig – now you mention it, SkyHigh as a company name has an arc-y sound to it. And why were there two targets in the Sheffield area so close together in time? And why is earth being used as a hunting ground at all, seeing as it has been defended throughout time by a grumpy, very protective time lord?

(As for the last, given Eleventh Hour and…[Read more]

Thanks Craig – shall watch with interest while trying to ignore my gloaty vegan friend!

  • Really on tenterhooks waiting for ep 2.

@craig suggesting we may have to wait till next week for the plot momentum to really get going. Well that’s OK if the jeopardy/character interaction/heart-tug carries the adventure. I suspect it will.

I interpret the very significant BBC publicity highlighting “a hostile alien environment” (together with a…[Read more]

    Thanks all – much appreciated.

No agony, but a lot to absorb (in a non-sugary way).

Thank you for video.  I’ve watched the first one, and cannot believe how much I  loved them all – except the film.

Shockers some of them, but they did the best they could at the time with Special effects.

I shall view the other later.

Yep, I’m a big fan of the Honest Trailers guys. And that’s cool about the Tussauds invite but Blackpool is a bit out of my travel zone too, I’m afraid. (My abiding memory of the waxworks there is of being regaled by a set of animatronic Wurzels mannequins as I waited to go into the Chamber of Horrors. Unless, of course, I dreamt the whole thing.)

  • Juniperfish replied to the topic On The Sofa (9)

Ha ha – those honest trailers are great – Doctor Who does look really weird from the outside!

I’m glad The Doctor Who Forum under your reign Emperor @Craig has grown to the size where you are invited to “press” events. Sadly am nowhere near Blackpool myself either, but someone else might be!

@craig Thank you Worthy and Esteemed Emperor, that was freaking hilarious!

@craig and @tempusfugit, thank you very much for the welcome. To TempusFugit, your English is brilliant. Unless you said I wouldn’t have a clue about you not being a native English speaker.

Hi Puro. Many thanks, and yes, the jelly babies are standing by, and the chocolate, and, of course, the coffee. In fact, there is a brilliant florist-and-coffee shop only a short walk away that makes divine affiagtos (affigati?) with soft serve ice cream and brilliant espresso.

Many thanks as well, from the outpost of Empire.…[Read more]

@craig No need to apologize, you’re the moderator and it’s good to be reminded of boundaries.  I apologize for being too gabby.  🙂

I must confess, the frothing range of the Angry Virgins has been one of the joys of the past 18 hours or so.

@ScaryB I thought you’d like the Delia Derbyshire tribute in the theme tune! Did you see she got honoured with a posthumous PhD last year?

Greetings to @Fatmaninabox – you completely lost me at line 2, haha, but sending you back some caffeine saturated squishy hugs!
@Craig – thanks for the quick tutorial on photos (can’t believe I’ve forgotten). Had another shot at it, but still not working. Hmm… more practice needed.

    Hello @craig and all

its been too long – really glad we have the Doctor back, and also that I can read all of your speculations on this forum again..

I think for an opener it was great – the main plot was a bit too familiar but let’s face it, this was all about setting up the characters. Jodie W seems to have slotted in remarkably quick, it w…[Read more]

Phew, I very nearly missed Doctor Who due to ‘technical hitches’.

Firstly, I record TV to my PC using a USB thingy. I haven’t used it for a while ( since last year’s Xmas episode in fact) so earlier today I did a test run just to make sure it was still working and today of all days, it decided to record audio only – no video. Oh poo!

    Thinking it…[Read more]

  • Like @ScaryB and @Craig <waves to both and to all> I have been AWOL from these parts for a while. So happy to be back and looking forward to the journey!

I thought Jodie did a great job.  I know what you mean @Miapatrick about whether the Doctor as more openly empathetic (compared to Capaldi who needed Clara’s cue cards to help him formulate…[Read more]

As near to pitch perfect as one could reasonably ask.

A couple of very subtle callbacks (Really wanting a friend egg sandwich).

Nicely restrained from Walsh (although should not a surprise to any who saw him on Law & Order), and solid support from Gil and Cole (although at the moment Cole’s character seems a bit generic ‘black urban…[Read more]
