    Considering that Gordon Ramsay is the only other TV personality whose vocabulary approached Malcolm Tucker, I found that entirely credible.    🙂

    @devilishrobby I’m sure it is. However, I am a wee bit on the cheap side. Not to mention, space-saving/”don’t accumulate stuff” side. And “I’m already paying for this, so why aren’t I getting it?” side. Which brings us back to “cheap” … LOL!

    @devilishrobby Thank you! I guess I will have to rely on info from the kind posters here. I tried logging in online to my streaming service and watching the season finale. The episodes all show up, but when I try clicking on it, there’s no play arrow. Rather frustrating! And all that’s available via my cable box is “Revolution of the Daleks” (it…[Read more]

    @devilishrobby I agree, it could have been better.

    Having said that, I finally got around to a second viewing yesterday, and I will admit that my opinion of it improved. One of the things that bugged me first time around was what seemed like an interminable wait to finally get to the Doctor and her companions. All that buildup to what the bad…[Read more]

    @devilishrobby I agree with you that this would have worked much better as a two-part special. Too much was shoehorned into one episode, which resulted in a rather incoherent narrative. I wonder why it was not done as a two-parter. Maybe that was the original idea, and the BBC wouldn’t roll with it? I still haven’t done a second viewing. I have…[Read more]

    @master124 and @devilishrobby
    Yes, it actually explains a lot. Why the Time Lords have always seemed so … genetically engineered as survival machines (they are), why the Doctor is almost universally loathed on Gallifrey (no aliens on Gallifrey, but the Doctor is The Alien Who Must Not Be Mentioned).

    Why the Doctor is so different (he/she is[Read more]

    @devilishrobby I didn’t get the feeling this was a sendoff of the Doctor’s companions. I thought they were separated at the end, but will reunite next season. It does leave things open as to who will return, though. But that’s generally true at the end of every season.

    @devilishrobby I’m afraid I think you have to make a post and untick the box when you do so.

    But many people have done that in the past. You know – “Just posting so I can stop getting notifications from this thread”, or words to that effect.

    Maybe it was the input of Vinay Patel as co-writer, but this episode seemed to display a surer touch than almost any since Chibnall took over, and for me at least conveyed more of the essential  Doctor and her universe; and for the first time I had the feeling of Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor as a fully realised incarnation of her predecessors, with…[Read more]

    Okay, that was exciting.

    @Jimthefish – remember last week that I said Doctor Who had no compunction about using stuff from the New Adventures? And this week, guess what? A reprise of Human Nature.

    @miapatrick I’m with @devilishrobby – I’m really not convinced this is an alternate timeline Doctor. Now admittedly, as far as we know the Doctor…[Read more]

    @devilishrobby possibly because of the concept of the Time Lords as a really, really Big Bad. Bad enough to upset the Master, and he usually likes that kind of thing – I’m reminded hazily of Ten talking about how Time Lords have to look into something – and what was in it turned the Master mad, meanwhile, the Doctor started running. (it’s been a…[Read more]

    @devilishrobby oh she wasn’t good, but she built the cyber-army for him and referred to their ‘friendship’. She was less hostile to the Doctor, just as murdery to human beings.

    I thought they had a “neurones firing” vibe. Makes me think this might be a psychological representation of being squished into a matchbox.
