still had a dream crab on his head so there is still 1 crab unaccounted for

@Janette -I agree it probably is a bit over the top for the show. I also came across
recent complaints that the show was going in directions that some folk found offensive
Besides there isn’t a lot of resemblance between Rory and Clara. But having said that
I think it might interesting to see them all team up as a kind of family – I think
the Doctor would rather enjoy that dynamic a lot!

Since the possibility that River may return in the next series I have to tell everyone
a theory I have about River and Clara. [Although I haven’t been right on most of my ideas]
I think that they could be half sisters and that Rory Williams/Pond is their dad. Rory
traveled thru time by himself back and forth waiting for Amy and then there was the time when
they almost got divorced. He spent lots of time away from Amy. He probably wasn’t aware of
the child and I noticed a few people felt that Clara might be adopted. He may have been Oswin’s
Dad too in the timey whimey Who-verse? Maybe he accounts for some of the links between Clara and
Oswin besides the splitting along the Doctors time lines thing. Remember the ‘conference call’
in NotD. Well even though River kept a mental link with Clara I got the feeling it was really
a bit like maybe a rivalry over the Doctor and just maybe a little like a sibling rivalry.
Any thoughts?

About the use of the chalkboards – I can imagine that the chalkboards in the Tardis are being used
as a form of a 2 way communication attempting to have conversations and/or send messages to perhaps
other time lords psychically in the same manner that he was using them to communicate with Clara in
the hallway in the house. In other words maybe the chalkboards in the Tardis are a sort of time lord
‘sorcery’ trick being implemented by our favorite magician. Not just working out his ideas and concepts
by himself in isolation but a bit like ET phoning home maybe.
How’s that for a bonkers theory!

I’ve been thinking about @blenkinsopthebrave ‘s post about it just being Clara’s dream- yes and no. Yes a lot
of the details fit but no because at the end @bluesqueakpip pointed out that Clara still needed real rescuing from the Doctor. So now I’m theorizing that it was more than just Clara having a kooky dream. Also it may have even been the Doctors dream? BTW the notion that Missy’s coordinated this with her coordinates sending the Doctor into the dream crab nest is probably rubbish but I sort of like it anyway. just saying…

@blenkinsopthebrave – I like that idea a lot too especially since Clara could have gotten the idea
of the dream crabs from the dream patches and why her dream starts from the volcano place since
it is where she had her fall out with the Doctor. ok then- I’m really good now! Interesting list
she dreamed up for Shona [if it was actually Clara’s list- Dad coming around but who’s Dave?]

@bluesqueakpip – Brilliant ! So all really beginning with the Doctor in the volcano place {back to DW}
and then the rest are picked up thru psychically connected dreaming putting you in a place that feels
like a reality- [Matrix like again] and yes the extra people are just the collateral damage for sure !
Now this point about Missy and collateral damage is super intriguing for me – don’t know what type of
breadcrumb that will turn out to be. @nine9 the notion that the Missy coordinates led the Doctor to the
dream crabs? I thank you all for these VERY satisfying breadcrumbs !! @IAmNotAFishIAmAFreeMan – I’m
feeling less torment and grief! 🙂 To be honest- all of you are so brilliant and this has been so much
better for my mental health than struggling thru all of it on my own ! 🙂

@bluesqueakpip -Totally agree with everything you said–I get that they were all targeted because
they had in common some grief and/or loss. Its not that part of the story that bothers me. It all
has to do with how the beginning of this story started off- it was a great beginning except for
the part where the creature invasion scene was cut out. I’m sure there was a good reason for
doing this but as @barnable said -I guess I just wanted more breadcrumbs 🙂

@phaseshift – I like pictures of snow but I am grateful to live just outside of the snowing places!
So when I want a snow fix I travel up the hill to Jenkinson Lake among the redwoods and pines with
the kid and the plastic sled and the hot cocoa thermos which is what we just did this past week.
I read that your snow finally arrived ! Maybe a happy snowman wearing some Doctor accessories to see
out of your window would be a fun treat? Perhaps with a Satsuma nose ? 🙂

@macphisto96 – I had a chance to watch this again without lots of interruptions [finally!] and the thing
is there is really only 6 items on Shona’s list — I stopped the frame to read her list — 1-dvd alien
2-dvd thing from another world 3-Dad comes around 4-dvd miracle on 34th St. 5-game of thrones marathon
and 6-forgive Dave. So the number 6 represents the physical world and also sacrifice and caring etc.
and so on which is what the meaning of Xmas is !
I’m still even after this re-watching having no new ideas about how they got snatched by the dream crabs
and also the part where the Doctor wakes up in the Volcano-like place is still a big “why there?” for me
but its part of the fun – right?

@fatmaninabox Hi — So I’m still thinking about where they all got infected by the dream crabs
but ???? HUH! – lol? help please!! its still not working for me. I’m still trying to wrap my
head around your explanation and its still a big puzzle. I guess I am having puzzle-phobic-syndrome
about this issue but all I can say is it still nags! I’m open to any further scenarios and/or
theorizing to subdue what will be my insanity for months until we get to the next season

@macphisto96 -Seven is also the number for creation – the world created in 7 days and all that- Miracle
on ’34th’ St {3+4=7]- so then I just wonder about what the relevance of that might be too. Also in Kabala
nothing can exist without 7 attributes etc and so on. I guess I’m wondering if Missy could maybe be the
architect of these dreams?
But I’m probably overthinking all of this

@kianorion88 – I also think the same as you about the dream patches and dream crabs as well as
the choice to use the volcano place for the Doctor to wake in- its as though it goes back to
that whole sequence in Dark Water. So unless SM is tossing us another big distraction
{and the season has been full of that} then I agree something is amiss. Its been bugging me too.
I’ve been wondering a lot about when they all got infected by these creatures. Everyone infected
is suffering from grief over some situation or loss. Missy was bringing her dead to a place
that was like the Matrix. This is really a bonkers theory but could she be behind the dreaming
and maybe everyone is trapped inside her Matrix having these dreams? Some one please tell me
that’s crazy talk – although I think it was mentioned somewhere that things aren’t what they
seem. OMGosh please say that Missy doesn’t win- although the Doctor did say to her that she did.
I’m worried -very worried !!

This was full of twists ! The biggest odd thing for me was where the Doctor kept waking up because
it looked like the volcano place where Clara wore the dream patch and this whole episode was about dream ‘crabs’. It just felt like an strange coincidence or that SM did that on purpose
because in the dream patch situation Clara couldn’t reconcile herself with the Doctor and in
this dream crab situation it was totally opposite. Or was it a Pompeii reference? Of course the myth
of Santa so we are still doing myths and will probably do more of that in the next series too.
The scenes with Danny and Old Clara were very touchy feel-y and I really liked them alot. But my big
question is how did Clara get targeted by a dream crab? I need to watch again cause totally missing
that. Oh and the Doctor’s yippee in the sleigh was sort of like watching him do a happy dance-
really great bit!

I also liked the Dalek Xmas tree on the page about International Dalek day – very nice! So this is the same
day as the winter solstice -interesting to me is the fact that the introduction day of the Daleks was also

The 4th TomDoc for me because he speaks in a way to my inner hippy 🙂 and that engaging humor
was incredibly endearing however it is a really tough choice especially between the 12th and
4th and then 9th. Since getting the back story for the time war I’ve found myself particularly
engaged with that 9th version because looking back it explains him so much better.

@arbutus The Grappa from Traders is quite something – taste is good but ‘punch power’factor is terrific!
My brother’s birthday is coming up in almost 2 months and he lives in one of the teensy-weensy
New York flats so I am really liking the notion of getting him a Doctor Who shower curtain with
a note about how it will transform his shower into a bigger on the inside luxury experience –
its too late to order it for xmas now but thanks @Janette for that idea! For all the States
fans I want to let everyone know that next week is a gigantic Who marathon on BBC America that
will be going on for days! Anyone else looking up new holiday recipes? I have folks coming for
Christmas and I want to put out a really nice table. Curious about what are some of all of
your favorites? I’m going to be watching the Doctor and cooking {and just might get some Grappa when
I swing by Traders too}

@arbutus My x-hippy husband also loved the Music Man [he admitted with a sort of shy reluctance
to me in our early days.] Apparently it could be a boys and girls that played musical instruments in
bands thing but not sure. He only played with the school band for 1 term and graduated to a rock
band however its still his favorite musical flick.

Btw – love Charlie Brown Xmas !! I think you are on to something here – lets all start
sharing some more favorite xmas tunes people!

I got curious about where the “Cloven Hoof” {aka Blue Boar] was located and I google mapped it-
It is located in Aldbourne and its a stunningly gorgeous little village with brick and stone
and white washed cottages and giant gothic grey stone church.

I believe there are life sized cardboard Tardis’ – wouldn’t that be fun to take a picture
with the Tardis and the pub together as a special treat for a fan that is aware of that trivia!
I would do that because it’s from a Tom Baker story and he is still 1 of my favorite docs.
Also. they should sell jelly babies in the pub ! Possibly fish fingers and custard too.
Maybe celery, along with all the usual other pub offerings

The episode “Girl who Waited’ is on- Amy says “3 words – what about Rory’– so there is that 3

Tonight we decided to re watch TC and at the end Danny tell Clara she need to “promise’ to tell him if the Doctor ever pushes her to far. Then at the end of this episode the Doctor brings up the fact that love is a “promise’. I don’t know if this promise thing is supposed to be significant but I just thought I’d give
it a mention because It seems to me that Danny and Clara still haven’t broken this promise to each other.
Plus this promise idea seemed to get some emphasizing both times— but its probably a nit picky thing

Watched this episode again because of Perkins and now having seen thru to ‘Death in Heaven’ my new hunch
is that maybe Perkins knows Missy thru helping to engineer the ‘nethersphere’ project ? Is that why
he had cold feet about staying on with the Doctor? Or maybe I wonder if he might have collaborated
with Missy on something else which could be a future episode. He did turn down the Doctor in such a way
that seemed sort of strange. Anyway that is what I am thinking now.

Just curious if any one came across any news of the Doctors tardis being spotted
in the Brisbane area during the G20 event? I personally am not aware of any.
I thought it could be a possibility since our Doctor is now also the
Earth President. But apparently its looking like he ditched the event.
I know its still too early to expect Santa so it didn’t surprise me
that there wasn’t any spotting of Santa’s sleigh either. Maybe the Doctor
was thinking that this event was attracting too many of the ‘pudding-heads’
of state? (oh dear! I shouldn’t have said that) So anyway, the thought
crossed my mind so I thought I might give it a mention.
