I just went and found & checked the script. I can confirm that originally, Rusty self-destructed on the Dalek ship (pg 66). That would have made him another martyr…

Then I found this:
3 September 2014 at 13:16 #31020‘As a fan… I want the people who would never watch (to) get onboard’
‘I’m sorry, I don’t look at it as a fan. I can take it or leave it…’
‘I know quite a lot which I cant mention here or I will be in court for libel.’ (but he will say that Dr Who is run by sexists !?!)
Is this for real?

I’m sure we all loved the milkshake kiss…(?!?)2 September 2014 at 23:05 #30982Apparently the workprint featured a scene where Rusty suicide-bombed the Dalek Mothership…….
2 September 2014 at 22:04 #30974Peter Capaldi has won GQ’s TV Personality of the year. The award was presented by Jenna Coleman.

2 September 2014 at 21:06 #30971More new Titan covers previewed…

https://twitter.com/ComicsTitan2 September 2014 at 15:36 #309642 September 2014 at 15:18 #30963Of course it doesn’t make sense. Moff has already planned the cliffhanger to the penultimate episode of series 9.
I can’t work out Philip Morris. I’m sure he once said he’s not really interested in Dr Who, yet this is his avatar…..

Plus 95% of what he posts on twitter is about Dr Who. Not content with ‘I don’t do rumours.’ alongside ‘The wind is blowing in the right direction.’, he’s now started slagging off the show.
I think the article in the telegraph was pretty close to the truth concerning Dr Who.its seems to be run like fandom like an old boy network

If Ian Levine is the 6th Dr, then Philip Morris is surely The Valeyard…
2 September 2014 at 12:01 #30958‘Morris!’ (Shakes fist)

I dont do rumours I will leave that to others

Philip Morris has always got a lot to say, hasn’t he?
1 September 2014 at 16:21 #30903(So many great things in your post)
We didn’t actually see Gretchen get lasered into oblivion the same way we saw it happen to Ross…
As to what the others saw – Who knows? I personally would’ve looked away…

I wonder what exactly the Doctor will do in her name?
1 September 2014 at 16:07 #30900Kai Blue is an anagram of bleak UI…
However, my guess from the (QI informed) pink to blue thing is that the Blues are descendants of the Pinks.

Maybe that’s why the Doctor thinks Clara looks old – She’s a Great (x lots) Granny!1 September 2014 at 15:58 #308971 September 2014 at 15:48 #30896Sad that the Doctor didn’t take Rusty along as his new companion.
I suppose the Doctor doesn’t find ‘a ruthless killing machine’ the perfect foil for his character…

Looking forward to the new series of ‘Handles 4 Rusty’, though…31 August 2014 at 21:44 #30842How bohemian…
31 August 2014 at 21:29 #30837Aristotle taught that to achieve a virtuous and potentially happy character requires a first stage of having the fortune to be habituated not deliberately, but by teachers, and experience, leading to a later stage in which one consciously chooses to do the best things.
31 August 2014 at 21:06 #30822@craig
It’s always the way. I did the most dangerous mountain climb ever and twisted my ankle (no, I’m not a companion of the Doctor) in a hidden rabbit hole on the way home …Wear your wound with pride!
31 August 2014 at 20:50 #30815Last week they combusted Margaret Thatcher but I can’t really agree that there is a leftist agenda this week.
It’s a shame, because we could do with furthering the cause, seeing as the establishment were all replaced by robot duplicates over 30 years ago…As for dull, boring and crap…
31 August 2014 at 17:34 #30786Here’s an example of a Who parody. Making all the names different helps legally. One biggie is also the phone box. Believe it or not, the Police Telephone Box is now copyright of the BBC (hence a normal red phone box here). Also think of Bill & Ted in their ‘normal’ phone box…

If you like strip cartoons, I agree with @phaseshift that Quinn & Howett are the masters…
31 August 2014 at 17:25 #30784I’ve just replaced a Matt Smith poster with my new maxi-poster from HMV…

Also, the Deep Breath cinema poster is exclusively available from the BBC shop tomorrow…

http://www.bbcshop.com/doctor-who/doctor-who-deep-breath-cinema-release-poster/invt/dwgi13133?utm_source=Awin&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=Buyat31 August 2014 at 17:04 #30782Welcome, @mystery If you are intending to do strip cartoons, that means they are likely to be funny and would probably be considered ‘parody‘ (which I guess would be legally sound). (Obviously don’t just title the strip ‘Doctor Who’)
If you meant comic strips or cartoons that would be straight/serious then that would indeed breach copyright.
If you meant animation, the same would apply. A spoof/parody would probably be okay but a serious ‘made for profit’ cartoon would again breach copyright.

31 August 2014 at 15:28 #30775As I said before, Courtney is probably named in honour of Nicholas Courtney…

31 August 2014 at 12:22 #30751When did they all get out of Rusty and unshrink?
Identical robot copies made by the Daleks debuted in ‘The Chase’, but were first called ‘duplicates’ in ‘Resurrection of the Daleks’…
31 August 2014 at 11:48 #30749Rusty seems to have memories of ‘Dalek’ & ‘The Stolen Earth/Journey’s End’…
Do you suppose he bought the complete box set?
30 August 2014 at 22:57 #30705The anti-bodies looked a bit like (Dalek) ‘eyes’ and Clara’s shirt was covered with eyes…
30 August 2014 at 22:25 #30699@pedant
Yes – It’s ‘The Chase’ all over again*. Expect Craig Ferguson to play the Dr’s robot duplicate at some point…(*Or maybe it’s Resurrection of the Daleks…)

Who is Courtney and is she named in honour of Nick…?30 August 2014 at 21:32 #30692Sorry @scaryb
That looks like I was questioning you but I hadn’t read your post!
So does Missy only take martyrs or just Doctor-made-martyrs?
Maybe we can clarify next week…
30 August 2014 at 21:21 #30688Gretchen Alison Carlisle sacrificed herself.
Did Humpty sacrifice himself?
30 August 2014 at 20:31 #30675‘Little splosh? Lovely.’
Both ‘saved’ screams are similar. The 1st one the Dr saves Journey with a TARDIS of course…
30 August 2014 at 20:24 #30673I’m surprised by who saved the good soldier!
Was John Frobisher a good man?
It seems Clara loves a squaddie…
