@ichabod I’ve been thinking about the CD of Rasilon a lot too . My hunch is that
it could be a very interesting device used in the next part of the story. It might
have some other use in the same way most TL tech often does. Like fob watches
or stasis cubes or sonic screwdrivers. There are always multiple applications. The fact
that Missy has it is also interesting. I’ve been thinking that she has a mission that we
are unaware of yet and that device is a part of it and Clara is also part of it (but Clara
hasn’t been told the whole plan). Receiving that CD was a message to Missy that the Doctor
was ready to execute his plan and that it was time.
I wonder if the CD can change its shape like the Moment?21 September 2015 at 17:20 #43149@denvaldron “Davros is actually kind of buff” lol!! Yeah well I have to agree. He
definitely had more spunk than the last time he visited the series. But seems to me
that this is earlier in the time line than that last Davros we saw. And really, Davros
is always at deaths door. He exists on the threshold of that door. But my impression
is that the Doctor did something to manipulate this Davros recently. Remember very early
in the last season he said he wanted to correct mistakes he had made. I believe that this
story is 1 of those corrections. So in effect, the Doctor created this opportunity to
make a new Davros earlier in time and when there is still see a planet Skaro existing.
Anyway, based on what I see happening that’s my take.21 September 2015 at 03:47 #43095Regarding MW as a new companion – I believe Game of Thrones is in its last season?
Also Clara is the Doctors apprentice but she is Missy’s familiar. I think Missy
chose her because she has been in the Doctor’s time stream and so that makes
her more ‘familiar’ with many of the various Doctors. Plus if she also has some Tardis
in her now from taking the trip in the time stream that might also mean from
Missy’s point of view that Clara has special access to the Tardis that Missy doesn’t.
Also, the previous trailer from the BBC for these 2 episodes showed Missy inside what
looked a lot like a cave staring down a Dalek. So that has to mean she and Clara are
definitely not dead because that scene hasn’t happened yet.20 September 2015 at 21:38 #43080BTW – Maybe that was the thing he had done when the Sister of Karn asked him
‘what have done and if it was recent’? Something about going back to the
moment when young Davros was stuck in the hand field. Something to do with
making sure Davros gets to keep a special sonic. That might be why suddenly
Davos remembers. Was he ‘implanted’ with these newer memories more recently?20 September 2015 at 21:29 #43078@jphamlore that previous post was @ you – oops!
20 September 2015 at 21:28 #43077@jphmlore -I like that theory. I’ve been thinking about the sonic screwdriver. Whether
or not Davros always had that or did the Doctor go back and change history by letting
him keep it at some later time? Doesn’t the Screwdriver have healing abilities? Maybe
the Doctor had a plan? He gave a special screwdriver once before to River Song to change
her ending. Maybe he is up to the same thing with a better ending for Darvos? Possibly it
could be as you say give the Daleks better emotional choices.
But still thinking that thru –20 September 2015 at 18:01 #43069One more thought about the hand fields. That was very cool. I don’t think
the Doctor was ever planning to exterminate Davros. I think it was the handmines.
But I also think that Davros gets badly injured. I guess we get to see next week.20 September 2015 at 17:57 #43068Great to see the return of so many fellow Who-sters back again!! Hi Guys !
@mudlark @geoffers @pedant I don’t think Colony Sarff would have been
sent out by Davros to find the Doctor if it was already known where he was. Also, I
totally think that Bors was ‘activated’ by Sarff. He was held in that jaws of life grip
with Sarff and it was looking like something was definitely going on there.@scaryb @papermoon @missy thanks
@bluesqueakpip I with your thinking re: what might need to happen with the DaleksI also noticed several references to Star Wars. SM must obviously be a fan and as the
new movie is out soon it seemed very ok with me!Apologies cant find/recall who mentioned the invisible ‘ness’ when Clara and Missy
step outside in space (sort of like a blank hollow deck) and the possible connection
to the Doctor following Missy’s coordinates and not finding Galifrey. But he also didn’t
try to step out of the Tardis. that has the feeling of maybe being onto something?20 September 2015 at 06:01 #43012When Missy refers to Clara as the puppy of the couple I had to wonder who
was that couple? My hunch its the Doctor and the Tardis as the couple.
Clara became the pet puppy from the time she saved the Doctor by following him
thru his timeline and picked up some Tardis inside her. That’s also why she was
able to achieve the mind meld with the Tardis circuitry. As for stepmother Missy,
that’s just Missy insinuating herself into the extended family. Of course the
Doctor never thinks of his companions as pets – although there are plenty of humans
that think of their ‘pets’ as children. Even Davros thinks of his Daleks as children
(I can insert puppies, kitties many words all similar concept?}
However, I wouldn’t be surprised if SM puts a different twist on it.20 September 2015 at 03:22 #43006Well I just finished and wow that was awesome! Great opening and ending and middle bits.
So this is going to be a season about more unfinished business? I have to see this again
to get my head around all of it. Lots to take in. IN the end I noticed a blue light
when Missy and Clara get blasted. I don’t think that is the death ray. I think
we can all assume they have not been exterminated.@juniperfish So Missy as stepmom? Feels like a clue. Maybe speaks to some form of
relationship. Maybe River had a kid? Or possibly something happened to Clara when
she became the ‘impossible’ girl? Something the Tardis did. Like what happened
to Amy getting pregnant with River on the Tardis and then River had ‘special’ gifts.
Its possible that Clara has some Tardis DNA in her now.19 September 2015 at 02:28 #42885@blenkinsopthebrave If you try to type in the search bar ‘Doctor Who Magicians Apprentice’
on You Tube I noticed lots of ‘live streaming’ offerings. However. I don’t know if you
will have to do one of the survey things or sign up for something? Just wondering if its possible
that might work for you?19 September 2015 at 01:03 #42874If anyone doesn’t want to wait a few more hours for the prequel you can
see it now on ‘Doctor Freedom’ channel on Facebook. I’d post the url
except having tried and I think it is blocked. I also tried to share
it with others thru FB but it was no go. But its there for you all now!
And its special!17 September 2015 at 16:18 #42782@bluesqueakpip You took those thoughts right out of my head! 🙂
Basically, I love all these puzzles.
@blenkinsopthebrave Your not the only one confused about the toy soldier!
Tell the Mrs. its too late and there is no hope for the likes of us that have been
absorbed. It reminds me a bit like that ‘absorby’ alien in Love and Monsters. I feel
a bit like we are all part of Elton and Ursulla’s scooby group!
The Doctor says the Disc holds his confession but I don’t think its that. Me thinks he
lies again.16 September 2015 at 03:32 #42725some additional promo pics for episode 1

and also a fan made ‘previously’ trailer that I quite liked 🙂I keep wondering just like everyone else is about how season 8 has set us up for season 9
and this vid suggested a few interesting ideas15 September 2015 at 22:14 #42706promotional pics for Magicians Aprentice
15 September 2015 at 05:22 #42689@janetteb @mudlark Quite some years ago I was visiting over in the UK
and I took a trip to Hay-on-Wye which is an area known for being filled with
bookshops and some have very collectable books.
I remember several that had some beautiful old children’s books with stunning
illustrations. I did buy a book but it wasn’t a illustrated book. Now
after having read these recent posts I think I missed an opportunity to get
something special? I’m sure there are great reproductions but if I ever get
back to that place I think that I know what sort of book I want to be hunting for!15 September 2015 at 04:16 #42685@janetteb Hi! Look what I found …
hints on all the episodes! Holy Moly! lol
14 September 2015 at 22:29 #4267414 September 2015 at 19:13 #42661@blenkinsopthebrave Yes, I understand. The Aussies could still need the Doctor 🙂
(although lots of places do)
However it seems like a small shift that might roll into
some more good stuff eventually?14 September 2015 at 18:38 #4265914 September 2015 at 18:35 #42658@Supernumerary It doesn’t matter to me if it turns out to be Davros. If he returns
2 things – 1. Daleks are still a part of the big story arc about the time war and
Davros is part of the Dalek story. and 2. You can’t predict whether or not this might
be a particularly good incarnation of Davros. Look at what SM did with the Master!
We are also getting new adversaries this season so there will be something for
everyone. BTW – perhaps servants is the incorrect description? Maybe but in a major way
they do serve the Davros ‘agenda’.14 September 2015 at 18:25 #42657Congradulations Aussies! 🙂
I hope we in all the countries of the planet Earth
continue this more liberal move. I’m beginning to
feel some shifting in that direction. I’ve been
a tiny bit worried that we might start to resemble
early Skaro! But it seems as though global perspectives
are starting to change.14 September 2015 at 03:00 #42635@ichabod Nice idea! So I wonder? He certainly speaks in a Dalek tone
even though the voice isn’t Dalek? It also looks like he’s speaking on the
Karn planet.
Isn’t there supposed to be a cult of Morbius on the Karn Planet?
The Doctor helped to kill Morbius. Maybe that guy has that connection.
He could also be a Time lord resurrected from who knows where that
seems a bit distraught.
I just based it on what seems to be according to the trailers lots
and lots of diverse Daleks coming in a variety of iterations .13 September 2015 at 21:35 #42622@bluesqueakpip Excellent notion! If the sister appears in another episode and
I think she is supposed to then this prologue could probably be *dropped* into the
series in various locations. This could very well be out of sequence!13 September 2015 at 21:20 #42621@ichabod I think your thing B being an unknown yet is extremely plausible.
When we see the prequel I expect to see the Doctor looking for something he feels
is important before he goes to see his ‘enemy’. Then in episode 1 we will see
Missy and Clara go off to support him. I have a really bonkers notion that it might
have something to do with that chalice. Remember the 8th Doctor drank from the chalice
and it made him more war like. Maybe the Doctor wants to get Davros to drink from the
chalice using a formula that would have the opposite effect. I came up with that on my
bike ride with the kid and it felt like an EW! moment. But its probably nothing.13 September 2015 at 21:07 #42619I will probably be wrong but I don’t think they are just referring to Missy. At the
end the sister says to the Doctor ‘you have people that care enough to find you’
we know from the other trailer that Missy gets the disc and goes looking for the
doctor. So I’m thinking Missy isn’t the *he* in question. Because in her demented
way she cares a great deal for the Doctor. The Doctor knows this and therefore
leaves the disc to her. Although it could be that recent incidents with Missy
and the matrix and Galifrey is what the Doctor could be referring to as his something
that happened.
But for now I’m sticking with Davros. Because I think the Doctor is going to try
again to change history and it maybe likely to be something to do with changing Davros.
The sisters line ‘his servants seek you everywhere’ to me that probably means Daleks?
They have always been searching out the Doctor from the beginning of the show and I have
always thought of them as the servants/children of Davros.13 September 2015 at 18:46 #4261213 September 2015 at 04:33 #42583So the Doctor says that he is going to meditate on a rock before he goes to meet up
with the mystery person. What comes next is the prequel called ‘The Doctor’s Meditation’.
I’ve read in comments elsewhere we might get that on BBC America possibly mid week?!
These next few days are going to be rough 🙂12 September 2015 at 04:29 #42548@purofilion Elderly Clara was more than 62 and she was still dreaming. Santa showed up
to let the Doctor know. The entire episode was all within the dream until the last minute.
The Doctor has a lot of regrets but messing around with time is generally not 1 of them.
I think I might watch ‘Genesis of the Daleks’ this weekend. In that TomDoc is asked to go back
in time to destroy Davros and the Daleks. I’m watching it since its being brought back
by BBC America as part of their Doctor marathon and also because I have a hunch that there will
be some Dalek intensive stories in the mew season. @ichabod ‘Genesis’ is interesting because
it was a story that was also about Time Lord interference. Even though the Doctor left Galifrey
to escape Time lord interference it apparently hasn’t worked out very successfully.11 September 2015 at 15:51 #42529Thanks @craig! My best guess is that they are referring to Davros? Because of a few things
that are probably too spoilery to post here. But last season I thought we would see Davros
when they called that cyberman in the glass box Dr. Skarosa. That just felt like a big hint.11 September 2015 at 00:09 #42505Also. the Doctor Who marathon continues into sunday on BBC America and includes 2 TomDoc
episodes!!! ‘Genesis of the Daleks’ and ‘Seeds of Doom’ . Plus more TomDoc through out
the following week I have to imagine these episodes a worth a re-look for how they can be
connected to seeing the new series. Here is the Blogtor posthttp://blogtorwho.blogspot.co.uk/2015/09/doctor-who-series-9-bbc-america-to-air.html
10 September 2015 at 23:48 #42503http://www.cultbox.co.uk/news/trailers/doctor-who-bbc-america-season-9-new-trailer
New BBC America trailer – a few new seconds here
10 September 2015 at 23:21 #42502@Whovians.tv That trailer is a good pitch into your new series. Best of luck with
your project and I will certainly take another watch again.10 September 2015 at 19:57 #42497@arbutus I agree with your Courtney assessment @nerys. We all saw in Courtney
a very bright girl in dire need of some positive reinforcement as apposed to the consistent
negative reinforcement she constantly got from everyone else in her life. So apparently
she was hanging around the Tardis. She observed the Doctor. She knew he was an outsider
and identified with feeling that way. She got a peek inside the Tardis and then got
really lucky and got to go on a trip -thank you Clara. That was life changing for her.
It made it possible to see beyond her local life. It expanded and re-designed her perspective.
That is what made the episode for me. It made it a very decent modern fairy tale.9 September 2015 at 00:30 #42451My niece called me with very important information! She was very excited to tell me
that starting next Wednesday BBC America is going to do the Who marathon again.
24 hour Who stating with New Earth all the way up thru to the new episode Saturday
night. Unfortunately she lives in New York and I’m in California so we cant share
jelly babies 🙁 Anyway, I also promised her to cautiously leak this out for
all the States fans on this forum. 😉8 September 2015 at 01:23 #42431http://www.kasterborous.com/2015/09/has-the-thirteenth-doctor-been-cast-rumour/
Really hoping this is just someone having a laugh !!!!
3 September 2015 at 01:40 #422912 September 2015 at 04:24 #42254@janetteb Well I don’t know what to be thinking anymore about who MW is. For a
moment I was even entertaining a little conspiracy theory that it had to be Ace based
on the fact the ‘Curse of Fenric’ audio story was getting released and that Sophie
Aldred who played Ace before was everywhere doing all the comic cons and Who cons and
that was some how a clue. But that’s just silly …. right? lol@Supernumerary Yes I’m thinking your right about that last planet being further
along into a time without any life surviving. I’ve always liked that episode and
Jacobi’s master. A bit unfortunate that we only saw him in the part that 1 time.2 September 2015 at 01:31 #42249Regarding this gate in the trailer video – my hunch is its Galifrey and the
gate allows them to pass thru from the ‘stasis’ Galifrey outwards. Similar
in the way the Zygons broke out of the pictures being kept in the under gallery.
Maybe its a way that the Doctor broke into stasis Galifrey? Looks a bit like
the Tardis broke thru and tipped over and the soils from the day side spilled
over into the night side? Why am I thinking that this might be from the episode
towards the end of the season that Capaldi is in by himself? The series can’t
start soon enough! I’m attempting to fan fic every curious scene I look at ;(1 September 2015 at 23:11 #42244@arbutus I saw something somewhere about the building of that dam as a way to back funnel
$ to subsidize the expansion of dirty oil sands? I thought that maybe voting in a new more
liberal government into (the was it the Alberta) province would have helped? Interesting also
because there already is a big dam there. Not very encouraging to hear that is still an issue.@ichabod In most sci fi when you see 1 gate there is usually another or several. I wonder
if we will do something like that ?1 September 2015 at 22:33 #42240Wondering if this gate is on Galifrey and that maybe the Time lords had this
extra time gate for the purpose of traveling? Maybe this is how Missy
made it back to Earth. I imagine there had to be possibly hundreds of Time
lords trapped on Galifrey and so why couldn’t they achieve the creation of
a time gate?1 September 2015 at 22:28 #42238Apparently there is a new trailer from the BBC/UK and at 26 seconds into it there
is something new and intriguing! It looks a lot like a gate(archway) of some type.
It shows a Tardis leaning over on the right and some letters possibly Galifreyan?
underneath. I cant wait to find out where this gate leads to! Anyone have any
interesting ideas about this gate?@arbutus – You may be right but I thought that it might be a possibility that
the spiky tooth folks might still have been stuck on the end of time planet.1 September 2015 at 03:46 #422171 September 2015 at 03:42 #42215@Jannete @arbutus
I just recently saw this and I thought to share it because it shows how horribly badly things
can go when your government wants to go the very reckless for profit route. Everything that
I read about China lately is all about how it is imploding. I take it as a warning about what
happens when we let ourselves become exploited. It begins in little chips and tears before turning
into drastic moves. The Tories going after the BBC would be I think like the ‘Teabillies’ taking
down PBS cause they don’t approve of the budget that produces ‘progressive’ shows from the UK like
‘Vicious’.1 September 2015 at 03:01 #42213Re-watching this one and I’m just wondering about the planet that they found Orson on.
The Doctor says it the last planet at the end of time. I thought the last time we
visited the planet at the end of time there was the Jacobi master there with other
human and sort of human survivors. So how is it that now there is nothing? Or maybe
it was one of those semi-human creatures with the spiky teeth banging on the space
ships door. Weren’t they left behind when the humans took off on the rocket ship?
Then Orson says that the toy came to him from his great grandparents. Well what if
Clara just decides to go back on her time line at the end of this next season and
gets back with Danny and changes both of there futures? This was a great episode
but definitely very tricky! Because even though people on this thread have tried to
explain the toy soldier there is still a problem for me about how Orson and the Doctor
both have the same toy and how it gets back and forth between them. That still isn’t
working for me.31 August 2015 at 22:31 #42205@purofilion @mudlark Lots of the stories in Season 8 were morality/horror/fantasy
-lite stories geared to kids of all ages including those kids of ‘advanced’ age. And they sure did
use the Coal Hill School a lot as a sort of arc epicenter. I just thought I’d make an observation
about today’s generation kids. They just seem less bothered by anything unconventional probably
because in their young lives they’ve been bombarded with so much more then previous generations. So
they have quite a different conception of our world/universe then many of us might have when we were
very young. IMHO their emotional and intellectual progress has developed along a different ‘curve’.
It seems to me that every generation is just a little bit more clever than the one that came before.
The way children in the episodes that included any children reacted to all the odd situations was
not so very surprising to me but also very hopeful for our species.30 August 2015 at 04:02 #42172I have had a thought about the sunglasses in the trailer and since its a theory
but not a spoiler I’m posting here. In the episode ‘Girl who waited’ Rory wore
glasses so that the Doctor could see what was happening from inside the Tardis.
Also, Michelle Gomez hinted that we may again see the same location. So, what
I am thinking is that the Doctor goes back to that place for some reason and
wears the glasses so that Clara or someone else can be watching him moving around
that place from the Tardis just like in the ‘Girl Who waited’ episode? Maybe?29 August 2015 at 03:30 #42107@purofilion Clara does want to be a good Doctor and just maybe she was born not only
to save the Doctor but all Time lords? Maybe we have had hints about it? She would know
all the Doctors from being the impossible girl and therefore all of the nemesis aliems
and probably a great deal about other Time lords and so I wonder if there is some way she
can re- access all that information. That might be perhaps like having a special power.
Or maybe like the Dr Donna she gets some of the meta-crisis power? Or even she might
be part time lord already?29 August 2015 at 03:14 #42105@purofilion Geeze -louise!!! what am I gonna do about you?? lol
Want spoilers!!! Need spoilers
29 August 2015 at 02:44 #42103@phaseshift BTW – Why couldn’t Clara stay on Galifrey to attend Time Lord school? Didn’t Ace
attend TL school? A lot of people theorized that there is something unique about Clara that
we haven’t yet been told about. Maybe there is an additional thing that made her Missy’s choice.
I have long suspected that there is still something more than just what we’ve seen in the story
so far. -
