He suffered far more than any of the other Doctors. He was injured more than any of them.

He lost so many people that he loved, including River, the love of his life, yet he never gave up.

I shall always remember his look of despair and hurt, when Missy betrayed him, and can only hope that

somewhere, somehow, Steven Moffat managed to write a scene where he finds out she was coming to stand with him.

The most poignant and funny episodes – in my opinion – were those written by Steven Moffat.

I didn’t want him to go either.

All of you will be giving your thoughts before me. I shan’t watch the special until the next afternoon. There is no

way I’m going to bed happily after watching the special, thank you very much.

Oh well, as MY  Doctor said:

Things end. That’s all. Everything ends, and it’s always sad. But everything begins again too, and that’s always happy. Be happy. I’ll look after everything else.

This is a book so I’ll mention it here. I’ve recently begun listening to Dombey and Son on 4 Extra.

We didn’t read this at school and surprisingley I never gave it a thought.

What marvelous series this would make on TV.

At the moment I’m right into the Harry Potter books, for the third time of reading, and Loving them.

Fantasy. Simply a children’s programme, which has captured millions of hearts and imaginations.

For all I’m old enough to know better, never has a work of fantasy captured mine so completely, especially the past

three series with the perfect Doctor, writer’s, companions and music.

If it’s possible to mourn for something which is unreal, then I’m mourning.

I’ve been spoilt rotten and they’ve taken away my favourite toy! *sniff*

Thank you for you for you kind and sensitive post. Like ichabod, you didn’t hit me with a verbal sledge hammer like one of our members.

My opinion and feelings about series 13 and the casting thereof, count as much as all the “Fors.” It matters not whether they are illogical to some or not, they are my opinions and I’m allowed to voice them.

I shall avoid sounding like a cracked record, but I don’t think that Jodie Whittaker is a fine actress, merely average.

And of course I shall watch at least two of the episodes, how can I have an opinion if I don’t. What happend next  is in the lap of the Gods. *winks*

I too think that Steven Moffat did the right thing if he felt that he was becoming stale, but like you I’m not keen on Mr. Chibnall. However, he won’t be writing all the episodes, so there is hope. But JW? Three companions?

What with that outfit and three companions, it feels like a spoof  of Doctor Who to me.

I am against a Female doctor, it’s always been a MALE, so why change. Political correctness naturally.

But as I’ve posted before, I shall watch the first two episodes, and if i don’t like them I shan’t watch the rest.

The thing is, apart from the above, I have never liked Jodie W, so, for me a double whammy!

Not everyone wanted a female by the way.

Not at all, you should be able to. I typed BBC Radio 4 Extra onto google and up it came. Then I bookmarked it.

If you can find it, do try TRACKS: starring Romala Garai. It’s under DRAMA, 5/6 episodes I think.

Our supermarket used to stock them, but that didn’t last. However, there is a shop not far from us that only sells British sweets and other products from the UK – they stock them. They also stock , Walnut whips, Pontefract Cakes, Sharps toffee, Fox’s Glacier Mints, Murray Mints, Marmite (the good stuff, not made in New Zealand which is revolting) – all the yummy stuff you can’t find in Australian shops *sigh*

It always amuses me that when anyone asks another actor or actress, what they think of a female Doctor, all of them say it’s a wondeful idea? What did they expect them to say” It’s a rotten idea?”If that’s what they really think.

Actor’s and actresses are always acting in front of the microphone and camera – it’s like an automic switch clicks on – so you can never truly believe everything they say.

I recently found, by accident, The BAFTA Scotland Awards.

Armando Ianannucci was presented with an award by Peter Capaldi, who had made very funny speech beforehand.

Armando went on to be very funny too. Well worth a watch …if you don’t mind a bit of swearing! *laughs*

Hmm!  I didn’t know where to post this, there isn’t a radio thread.

I would have mentioned somewhere that I listen to BBC Radio four Extra regularly. Just for a change from crime/horror/supernatural etcetera, I tuned into Documentaries just now and this is what I heard.

Five Meet to Make Up Myths.

The five are, Conan Doyle, R.L Stevenson, Bram Stoker, Oscar Wilde and JM Barrie.

Very, very interesting so I dedided to share it with you.

The Christmas special usually appears on the next series.  Such as Mysterio is on this boxset. One assumes that this years CS will be on series 11. I shall buy it seperately this time.

Friend from the Future I realised was the opening, when Bill asks (under fire) “What’s a Dalek?”

I didn’t know it had a name. This was supposed to be on an extended edition – I heard SM say so. If not, there is always YT.

My Box set is on it’s way.

That’s where we differ. If it ain’t broken, no need to fix it. Makes no sense at all.

Like white goods, they still work well, but you fancy a new one, so out they/it goes. Wasteful in my opinion.

MG  also had this uncanny knack  of fitting the music to the actor/actress, at least I thought so.

Of course, MG might have had enough and who can blame him.

I must get the CDs  of Murray Gold, I especially enjoy his score for “Heaven Sent.”

Incidentally, the use of one of the melodies from the above in The Doctor Falls, when he’s blowing up the Cybermen I thought a nice touch. Such a beautifully poignant piece.

I’ve no quarrel with any new composer, their music may be just as delightful. However, I must admit that it would be the last straw for me.

By the way, I hadn’t heard any rumours about MG leaving, I simply thought that as everyone else I like is jumping ship, he might too. *sigh*

This is going to sound flippant and perhaps it is. However, if there is a nuclear war, there won’t be anyone left to try to live with themselves. I endeavour  not to think about it, it only spoils the life I’ve got left. Stop worrying about it, life is too short, whilst you are getting all upset about the future, you are missing out on the present.
