Wooh, Happy 51st Anniversary to Who! ^_^ May not be the big 50 again, but every year counts :3

On a related note, who here went to the 50th Anniversary Convention in London? My mum managed to get us TARDIS tickets for the Friday and I had great fun ^_^

@miapatrick @Margaret-Blaine – Whovians are the best when it comes to collaborating on things, mainly because there’s so much Who, and everyone knows different bits better ^_^ You guys are awesome 😀

@miapatrick Ah, my mistake, I haven’t watched that one in quite a while. 🙂

@miapatrick – Actually, there’s not really a mother to Jenny, as she’s from a machine and the Doctor’s DNA. But Queen Liz, of course! So, continuing the assumption of one wife on Gallifrey, that leaves one more open to speculation.

@pedant @BlueSqueakPip – So Missy = Not Dead. That’s established, so where do you think she’ll pop up next? I think she’ll bide her time and not try anything too big for a while. If I were to make a guess, I’d say she won’t be in the next series.

@miapatrick On the subject of that quote, who do we know from that? So far I have:

    • 1 wife

    – River Song

    • 1 Grandchild

    – Susan (Though I’m not 100% sure of this is biological or if she’s ‘lost’ as my Classic Who knowledge is horrific o_O)

    • Clone Daughter

    – Jenny from ‘The Doctor’s Daughter’

Can anyone think of any more?

Oh, another thought! Moffat actually does hate us! He killed off both the audience avatars! (The Nethersphere guy going ‘SQUUEEEEEEE’ made me laugh and cry at the same time)

Nope, does not compute. What? Is Missy truly dead? Is Gallifrey truly back? Where’s the little boy? Is that the last we see of Clara? WHY IS OSGOOD DEAD?!

I think I’ll have to rewatch before I can have coherent opinions on this episode, but this is what I think so far:

WOW. Good job, Moff. Good bloomin’ job.

It’s the weekend! I can post again! 😀 And WHOA, did I just get an idea!

I recently found out the origins of the song ‘Danny Boy’, and found that it was from the point of view of a dying woman speaking to her lover, who went to war, aka a soldier. A soldier called Danny.

Clara had a post-it saying ‘Three months’.

Far out there, but what if Clara’s dying? What if she only has three months left, and her call to Danny just before he died was to tell him that, after of course, ‘what she did wrong’?

    I really, really don’t want this to be true, but my brain must always torment me like this… ;-;

Also, I adored all the dark humour in this episode, and that whole intro is not to be overlooked or dwarfed by this cliffhanger!!!!!

Okay, slightly alive again! Still baffled, still need a hug or something.

When the ‘skeletons are cybermen’ thing I thought that that would be the drama cliffhanger and that it’d get a LOT more intense in part 2.

    I was wrong. So wrong.

When the ‘two hearts’ thing happened, I expected it to be the Rani (though I know next to nothing about her, I know she’s been a popular theory).

When she said ‘Mistress’ I briefly wondered, before putting the pieces together just as she said ‘Master’.

I was instantly thrown into a state of shock, and have not come out of the terrified ball I threw myself into when my happy/scared tears began.

    Next episode, please!

I’m do confused, but amazed at the same time. I spent most of the episode waiting for a jumpscare, but it never came, so that scared me all the more… But still, wow… That was amazing and confusing… I’m going to rewatch it tomorrow without hiding and see if I can understand it more.

Little theory I came up with as I was watching though, what survives where nothing can survive? What knocks when there can be nothing knocking? The Midnight Monster prehaps? But probably not.

Oh, and also, I loved that we got to see the interior of the TARDIS in more detail! It hit shows how nice it really is ^_^

Hello again everybody! I just finished watching this as I couldn’t watch it last night. I loved the story and especially the dynamic between Clara, The Doctor and Robin. Clara taking on that more leaderly/teacher-y role was great to see!

But the main thing I liked about this episode was how The Doctor was vehemently opposed to Robin Hood actually existing, and how that later went to transfer to The Doctor himself. For a much more lighthearted episode, this had a lot of deeper meanings in it, and I will be rewatching it later to see if I can spot any I missed.

Now, on the topic of Missy. I was seriously expecting her to pop up when the SoN fell into the gold, and later when the ship’s engines failed, but I was wrong both times, so I’m adopting the theory that some of you have that it’s people that sacrifice themselves for The Doctor that get to ‘Heaven’.

Sorry if this post makes no sense, I only woke up an hour or so ago O_o

@arbutus – I definitely think he’s become more determined now he has a definite goal. As it was said at the end of DotD, he used to just be ‘pottering around’, but now he has a goal: to find his home. I don’t think he’ll stop at much if he finds a ‘lead’. Where that takes his incarnation is yet to be seen, but I’m sure we will see a darker show in general now. ^_^

@wolfweed I don’t understand why this can’t just be treated the same as any other kiss on TV… It’s ridiculous that one kiss between two people who are obviously in love, and have been portaryed as so on the show for 3(?) years now, can’t express their affection in any way without having all this commotion about it… :s

On the good side, the TV sensorship thing in the UK have refused to comply to complaints about it, as they don’t discriminate.

Hello everyone! I’m a bit late to the forum because I was at my dad’s birthday party, but I’m here now! I just watched the episode, and I might go as far as to say I liked it more than Deep Breath, which I loved! Terribly long post ahead!

It really set the new Doctor’s moral ground, and helped viewers understand the new dynamic between The Doctor and Clara, which I find now to be a very strong friendship, with Clara making sure The Doctor doesn’t step too far out of line.

I liked the introduction of Mr Pink as an ex-soldier who obviously deeply regrets something he did whilst at battle. What’s everyone’s theories on the Soldiers of Pink and Blue? Red herring or something else?. I reckon he’s going to be very important somehow. Not sure how yet though!

As for the actual story, it was just as fantastic as I expected it to be! The whole idea of most of the episode taking place inside of a Dalek, and a ‘good’ one at that, intrigued me! I did suspect at the start that the ‘good’ Dalek might be the mad one (I can’t remember his name for the life of me O_o), but after watching, I’m starting to doubt myself a little in that respect.

The darker side of The Doctor surprised me for a moment when he simply brushed aside the first soldier’s death like it was nothing, not even something to worry about much, but it was interesting to see that side of him flickering in and out like that.

I liked how The Doctor trusted Clara enough for her to be able to go off on her own and do what was needed without getting killed/kidnapped/knocked out/whatever else could have gone wrong.

I really have no way to sum up everything I’ve just said, so I’ll just say it one last time: Awesome episode! 😀

Apologies for the long post and any typos in it! (I’m on a phone)

@serahni :O what generator doesn’t come up with Cyberman! Also, I’m sure Mr Moffat’s got something up his sleeve waiting to kill is all with D:

@serahni Inspired by your idea of anagramming the letters of Clara’s famous phrase, but with none of your magnificent determination, I put the phrase into an online anagram solver thing. I’m now going to trawl through the words in search of clues ^_^

Also, ‘cyberman murder everyone’? I’m scared! O_o

@fivefaces Okay, strange theory here, but what if Missy saying “I think I might keep it” is in some way suggesting she knows future/other incarnations of the Doctor, but prefers this one because of the accent? As I said just a weird theory… :3

Okay, I’m back and slightly more sane, but I need to sleep in a second. For now, one question: What does everyone think of the new titles? Visually stunning and pleasing to the ear in my opinion, though my judgement may be clouded by the fact I was vibrating with excitement during it. 😀

I loved everything about this episode! 😀 I loved how we not only saw the new Doctor, but a different side to Clara and the Paternoster Gang getting an upgrade! I’m still on a Jelly Baby and excitement induced high, so I’ll elaborate later/tomorrow, but WOW! 😀

Hello! I’m a new member on the site, but I’ve been a fan of Doctor Who since I was about… 5 or 6 maybe? My first episodes were the Family of Blood two parter, but I remember becoming hooked from Blink (still terrifies me). I’ve watched all of the New Who episodes now, and am looking for time to watch the Classic Series in full, but I’m still in school, so that has to come first. I know literally no people in real life that like Doctor Who (at least on such an obsessive level as me, anyway), so I’ve skulked off to the internet to be with my true family. I’m home! 😀
