I think I read somewhere that both episodes would be screened back to back in selected cinemas on the 24th.

Do you think Zchib had a very very bad photocopy of Cartmel 2.0?

Andrew Cartmel was deeply unhappy with the way The Timeless Children was done. The creative decision, not the plot device. So, did he know what was in Cartmel 2.0?? As the (almost) saviour of Classic Who, I can’t believe RTD didn’t seek his opinion. Moff and RTD…[Read more]

This is the thing now: given the Timeless Child plotline, then the TLs can be recreated from the Doc’s DNA at any point. We don’t have to bring the old ones back, just create a whole new set.

I’m a bit 50-50 on bringing the TLs back in whatever form (except Omega, but no-one’s buying that). I did wonder if all the hoohar (Whohar?)…[Read more]

<span class=”useratname”>@devilishrobby My hope is a new River. Bit amoral, but goes all in with the Doctor.

I did play with an idea of a stray regeneration of River for a second. Would have been fun, but probably not.

All power to your convalescence, but I, too, advise taking things gradually 😉

I’m curious as to why you think that the witchy lady wasn’t an older version of Ruby, because that seemed to me to have been indicated fairly plainly. Granted that when the witchy lady first appeared she conveyed a very spooky vibe, but once it became…[Read more]

@devilishrobby Best wishes for a speedy recovery and I hope that you get lots of time to watch Who.

@craig. Thank you for sharing that. Your wife was indeed inspiring.

@mudlark. I loved your description of the ring. An example of how “provenance” gives meaning to an object. The S/O and I didn’t bother with rings, not having bothered with the…[Read more]

First of all, sorry to hear about your troubles, @devilishrobby, and glad to hear that you’re on the mend now. Get well soon.

In terms of the episode, a bit late to this party so I’ve really nothing to add the insightful comments above so will just say that this was another absolute corker — RTD’s best Who episode in my opinion. As others have…[Read more]

Thank you for posting the links – how inspiring, and what a terrific attitude from Rachel in the face of adversity.  Amazing indeed. And, as @juniperfish says, a lovely picture.

And to just add to the chorus of well wishers, and my hopes for your complete and speedy recovery.

Goodness, I echo others in wishing you a quick recovery: my husband had a heart attack approximately 6 weeks ago but thanks to one of the best Australian cardiac units located a mere 5 minutes away, he was home within 5 days. This isn’t often the case & it was definitely nerve inducing but I believe he also took advantage of the f…[Read more]

@devilishrobby That must have been very scary, but I’m very glad to hear you’re being looked after in hospital – sorry about the crap wifi though!

@mudlark I love your several generations of women ring.

Your suggestion that Old Witchy Ruby is “our” timeline Ruby from the future is a good one.

So sorry to hear of your heart attack; my commiserations and I hope that you make a complete recovery, and that soon. Such an event is very alarming and discombobulating but, if it’s any comfort or reassurance, I started having severe angina attacks 13 years ago and what I think in retrospect was a minor heart attack, but…[Read more]

Understand your point but ep comments should be for comments on the episode, unfiltered imo. People should just avoid that forum if they’re concerned about spoilers. I live in Aus and I learned to just not look at t’internet prior to watching a show I’m interested in.

@ps1l0v3y0u @devilishrobby Whooo. This is all way over my head. 🙂 Yes I know I asked for it.

cheers. I suspected the multi doc stories had more regeneration info. But I wasn’t about to trawl through them.

I really like Love and Monsters. Even Moaning Myrtle’s (hinted) life as a paving slab. But then I happily defend doctor 6.

CB wasn’t a great actor but he was given an impossible brief; Tom in that role (to judge from the occasional shouty moments from a decade before) would have been truly terrifying. And I dou…[Read more]

@devilishrobby Yes I know that. The Absorbaloff was pretty naff, but – for a Doctor-lite episode – I found it quite absorbing. I mentioned it because I seem to recall it got a lot of flak as ‘worst ep.’

Actually, I have another candidate for worst ep ever, Kill the Moon. On the one side, it broke every single rule of basic physics or…[Read more]

@devilishrobby I may have expressed myself a bit unclear – I liked the new Doctor and will certainly see what future episodes bring for him. I certainly didn’t mean to criticze Ncuti’s performance as the Doctor, I’m sure he will be brilliant!

If what I have read is correct, I doubt we need spend time fretting about this Doctor’s costume. It will be like the British weather; if we don’t care much for what he is wearing this week, just wait a while and it will change.

On another tack, is the name Flood significant? It has reminded me that when I was aged around 11-12, way…[Read more]

Thanks for reporting back from Doctor Who Unleashed (which I do not seem to be able to access out here in the colonies). So, RTD has indicated a slow reveal of Mrs Flood? This promises more guess work on our behalf!
