Hallooo everyone. An exciting but short series!
Love the theories and the characters within the  the rich Blodeuwedd tale. @whisht A shout out to a QLD minimalist composer, Peter Gundry and his Blodeuwedd fantasy composition (available on YouTube).
@whohar you’re definitely one of the gods of prophecy (aren’t they all?)! Perhaps Apol…[Read more]

Remembrance: The Hand that killed Skaro was definitely Omega’s… though I admit I’ve made a similar mistake in the past. And there were crypto Mosleyites in the early 60’s Britain. 2 stories later, in Silver Nemesis, a statue of living metal no less, made by both Mr O’Mega and Razzy Lon (who may or may not also be Rog Williamso…[Read more]

Throwing in a giant mechanical spider in outer space

    and

Why a child? What point was RTD2 trying to make? B*ggered if I know.

I think the spider would have made more sense if the whole plotline about the gods and trying to destroy them by killing their stories had been removed. That part didn’t really…[Read more]

If it is another old Who callback, and one of the Guardians, I’d be a bit surprised. But…

    1. I’ve been wrong before, pretty much everytime actually.

    2. I’d reckon she would be the Black Guardian, given her previous statement about “bringing terror”.

What is interesting is that she’s been the neighbour of both of Doc…[Read more]

An enjoyable ep. A bit trippy and very meta at times. I liked the joke about Mr Ring a ding not having emotions as he was a two dimensional character

24th May is the airing of the penultimate episode.

I also had the same thought about the regen scene.

And, yes, I was also confused by how the Doc saw the…[Read more]

It’s all hearsay atm, and there may be more innocent explanations. As you point out, the Tardis is often rebooted when there is a new Doctor. If this is the case, then the next casting is going to be very interesting.

I’m pretty neutral on another regen, as I am not sold on Gatwa as the Doc. Dunno why, just some actors…[Read more]

Nice linking of Romana there. I know there’s a lot of talk re Mrs Flood, but I’m hoping she’s a new character (or Omega!), rather than an old favourite. And, as @blenkinsopthebrave alluded to, she really needs a bit more agency – the 4th wall breaking monologue is looking somewhat old now.

I think the schwup is something to do with the reason that they can’t get back to Earth on 24th May – incidentally that’s the air date of the penultimate episode (“penultimate” from the old Latin meaning “the ep we all get excited…[Read more]

The things not so bad as first thought… Bethlehem… I can handle that. Kid gets born in challenging circumstances while arms manufacturer inexplicably supplies handy star. Anticipate a trio of Parthian visitors. This seems reasonable. It does break with the ‘no religion’ WHO protocol IMHO. I wonder why? Moff and Russ thumbing their n…[Read more]

Past evidence? Seriously, for all RTD’s bluster, there’s nothing to be seen except for… 2. We never actually saw him become 3. He whirled about a bit saying ‘oh no’ and ‘my giddy aunt’, then… six months later… Pertwee just falls out of the Tardis.…[Read more]

I believe, but don’t quote me, that whitdoc wouldn’t boogie for anyone but Zchib. So that scenario would seem to be a non-starter. Yes! Gatwa was a busy boy last year, and they had to get the 60th anniversary thing in the can.

Any story can crippled by acting, production, or effects (remember Capdoc on the prop horse in The Woman Who Lived?) but Whovians like to think the show lives or dies by the script/story.

@devilishrobby Well, I only know Whitaker from Doctor Who, so to me she’s an awfully hammy actress. Everyone who’s seen her in other productions says she’s good, so I’ll just conclude that she was possibly slightly mis-cast (I think a ‘darker’ character would have done better) and certainly mis-directed and had some awful scripts. (“I’m the…[Read more]

@devilishrobby Have not been keeping up with discussion but just saw your mention of B.5. Me too. In fact I am currently editing a podcast about B.5. We tried convincing the younger members of the podcast group of its brilliance but I am afraid we failed to impress them.

    I do hope you’re recovering!

The TTC followed a season I detested, so I really wasn’t in the mood for a load of exposition from Dharwan, never my favourite Loon anyway.

Exposition is a problem Who, where nothing ever ought to be as it seems. It ruined the end of the Family of Blood and most of Time of The Doctor. The End of Tim…[Read more]

Yes, Rassilon (if that was he) ‘the president’, was last seen scarpering from Gallifrey during Hell Bent… one wonders why The Doctor is so certain about the TL genocide. The details are predictably hazy… my brain does not speak Zchib. Is the Doc just extremely anxious to avoid any others who are left?

I’m reasonably sure The Rani was Tecteun. Have you ever seen them in the same room together? If Rogue has really gone to another universe with The Birdies he might end in E space. Or in Cromer with Omega.

@cathannabel @devilishrobby  I did indeed think about Thanos’ big Snap from Avengers.

Thanos vs Sutekh – Sutekh would presumably win, as Thanos *only* wanted to depopulate the universe by half, not slaughter everyone.

    Brilliant posts people!

With the wishes at the end of the universe as @juniperfish elucidated, is it possible this applies to “death to death = life” @bunface you wrote of “2 wrongs don’t make a right.” And @blenkinsopthebrave yes, it seems “stupid” unless it IS connected to the wishes?
