    @winston

    Funny you should post this winston. I saw this again (for the umpteenth time) two nights ago.

    Like you I enjoyed all of it, particularly when Clara declares how much she has missed ‘that noise.”

    It may sound silly, but the most poignant scene, was the Tangerine on the windowsill. I have to admit to my eyes

    stinging a little.

    Hello winston, I envy myself. *grins*

    @puroandson

    Hello puro. After that build up I can hardly wait.
    I have to be honest with you all.
    Not watching is one of the most difficult things I’ve done, and my nails are almost chewed to the quick waiting for the DVD.

    @janetteb

    Hello janetteB,

    Your son has excellent taste. *grins.*

    @pedant

    Hello pedant. Who is spawn?

    I repeat all the above and thank you all for replying. Roll on series 10.

    See you all when I’ve seen all the episodes – 6 -12.

    Hello everyone.
    I haven’t been posting lately because – as I explained – the last six episodes I’ve resisited until I get Part 2

    from Amazon.

    My question is, what did all of you think of series 9?

    No spoilers please! *grins*

    Loved the clip with PJ polishing his Oscars. PC is perfect as he acts all furtive.

    Brilliant, certainly won’t ‘exterminate” this interview.

    Thank you the other two interviews too.

    Phew! all’s well after all.

    I remembered Series 7 was sold in two parts so checked on Amazon. They are doing the same thing with series 9, so I

    get the first 6 episodes, the rest in December.

    What a relief.

    What is more, Amazon has just informed me that my copy of series 9 is on it’s way…jumps up and punches the air!

    I sat in front of my DVD recordewr last night and deleted Doctor Who – yes, you heard right DELETED it, unseen!

    You have to admit that took courage?

    Naturally, I’m not reading any posts which relate to the episodes.

    Rose and Donna remain my favourites, but I like Clara, she is very convincing.

    Martha (with the exception of HUman Nature and Family of Blood) used to get up my nose somewhat, as did Amy and Rory- especially Amy, but I didn’t dislike them either.
    You are right, just 5 companions in 10 years. Pretty good going.

    Having seen all the Doctors now – from 2005 – I had no favouite, they were all as good as each other in different ways.

    Then Peter Capaldi came along and BINGO, he’s the best.

    @millymac Yep, it could be fun, but possibly a daft mistake. *big grin*

    I haven’t seen yesterday’s DW and don’t intend to watch any more. I would rather wait until I get the DVD.

    I can do this – I know I can. Blimey there’s a lot of “I’s” in this.

    Until then,

    Hello there. Only just read your post. Interesting theory and no more bonkers than all the others.
    I doubt if Benedict ( my favourite actor) would do it though, much too busy. He also said that he wouldn’t appear on DW – but that could change.

    @bluesqueakpip

    Granted that she is very young and perhpas the word ‘woeful’ was a little harsh. But, as to her age, Lucy griffiths was around 18/19 when she played Marion in Robin Hood, and I found her very convincing.

    I feel that this actress is mediocre at best, she lacks that certain spark, which makes you sit up and take notice.

    I agree that she was a bit dull in the first episode, but her acting – if you could call it that – was woeful.

    Never before have I felt this about any of the companions, so it’s good to klnow that I’m not alone.

    I enjoyed this one, except for the actress playing Ashildr.
    Is it only me, or do some of you think she can’t act? I thought she was awful
    Interesting the espression on the Doctor’s face, when Clara tells him she’ll always be there – or somethinglike that. I’ve got ot watch it again.

    @jphamlore A very good point about the Tardis possibly rejecting the Master as a long-term companion. After all, it is the Tardis that most of the time is calling the shots as to where the Doctor goes.

    When I first saw “Bad Wolf” in series 1 with Christopher Eccleston, I began to wonder. The Doctor having sent Rose home, giving the Tardis instructions not to return, Rose manages to open the Tardis and look into her heart – vortex, I forget what it’s called. Rose returns, tells the Doctor : “I want you safe, my Doctor.”
    Was this
    Rose talking, or was it the Tardis, speaking through Rose.
    In The Doctor’s wife, when DW calls her “My Tardis” she replies “My Doctor.”
    I truly feel that the Tardis, has more to do with events than we think.
    Well, that’s my bonkers theory for what it’s worth. That blue box, has always been my favourite character.
    Every night I look up, just in case I see a little blue box flying around – well, you never know – do you?
    Right, back on the Valium for me.

    cheers

    Missy.

    “run. run you clever boy and remember ME” ? I think that on re-play she says it without the “me” -in The Dalek Asylum at least.

    Yep! She mostly said “and remember.”

    #45290
    Missy @replies

    @purofilion

    Yes puro, it has been said.
    I like Clara, although not nearly as much as Rose and Donna, it’s just that at times, she gives me the pip – don’t know why. *shrugs*

    Cheers,

    Missy.

    @jphamlore

    Thing is, in the unlikely event of Missy and the doctor getting together, would the Tardis allow it?
    I still remember “The Moment” asking the Doctor:

    Moment: “Didn’t you want her to see it?”
    Doctor: “Who?”
    Moment: “The Tardis.”

    She is a living thing. Isn’t speculation great?

    Missy

    #45233
    Missy @replies

    As yet – because I lack a certain imagination – I haven’t come up with any bonkers ideas, so this will be a doozy!
    Could it be possible that the Tardis is actually taking a hand in events? After all, in the Doctor’s Wife she took control. she also let it be known how she feels about “her Doctor.”
    If the “The “Moment” could transport all three Doctors, surely the Tardis could be behind some of it.
    She taught River to fly her and she definitely has some connection to Clara – and I agree, she is becoming a bit of a bore lately, Clara I mean.
    Sorry if this is a little jumbled, but it’s the only bonkers idea I’ve had.
    If this has been thought of before, ignore me. As @bluesqueakpip mentioned, so much to read, so little time to do it.

    Cheers,

    Re: The Doctor overstepping the mark. He did exactly that in ‘Waters of Mars’ – think that was the title –
    when he saved everyone from a nuclear explosion which was a fixed point. The Leader ended up shooting herself to put it right, and the doctor, realising, said “I’ve gone too far.”

    Just saying

    Well, well, very interesting. Could this be Clara’s replacement?
    Why didn’t he do the same for Clara?
    Was it because he wants her to live a normal human life? Or does he know something about her which makes it impossible?
    These stories are becoming curiouser, and curiouser.

    That’s a shame, but if you don’t, you don’t. However, quote:

    I feel saddened by the poor production values, poor acting acting performances, dire casting and embarrassing narcisstic rock guitar trivialisation of a great British institution . I went to the trouble of finding this forum and registering my details.

    Where on earth did you come up with – poor production values, poor acting, dire casting and embarrassing rock guitar trivialisation?
    Since 1963 – and I watched the first broadcast at the time – Doctor Who has progressed – grown up if you like. Nothing can stay the same forever, so we Whovians – true Whovians, must grow with it.

    There you are, I’ve expressed an opinion and I dare say others have too.

    Clara does seem to be more daring than usual. In fact just bordering on manic.

    Perhaps that is what the Tardis is afraid of? Even the Doctor had to remind her that there was only room for ONE of him on the Tardis. Wonder what he meant?
