So… either…
Russ is indeed engaging with the mad mysterious and oft disappointing and ludicrous world of Zchib… of which I know nothing… Or…
Tis but a humble plot hole. Actually, I don’t think so. Or…
It’s a kid show. We’re overthinking it.
But there must be an even chance this is getting Divisionesque. Yes?
Question: a…[Read more]

but it was in the jo martin timeline, does that mean we are in the alternate timeline now
Well, this is interesting as those memories are meant to be captured in the 13th Docs watch that she dropped into the divisions repository.
But the Doc at the end said that the stories were leaking out in the wrong order, so who knows.

also, the similarities of Mrs Flood’s dress sense to Romana 1 and Clara shown on the link does echo a recent debate about whether we saw the remains of the Blackpool or Eiffel Tower at the end of Robot Revolution. Although the Eiffel Tower actually links to Romana 2 of course.
On the other hand this debate is s…[Read more]

’Moff’s last outing’… I may have been extrapolating from Moff’s apparent reluctance in accepting RTD’s invite to write for the last series. ‘Oh go on, twist my arm.’
Otherwise, I may well have assumed incorrectly whilst suspecting correctly… the emphasis on Villengard indicates Moff and RTD are cooking a…[Read more]

Sutekh’s obsession with hoodie woman was odd. Makes you wonder if that was really Sutekh. What were all the other goddy names about? Is this a reflection of The Doctor himself… Sutekh was obsessed because The Doctor is obsessed and mortified by his own origins? It’s easier for him to believe they’re all dead ra…[Read more]

Quick thoughts – I really enjoyed that – fluffy and silly, but really well done. And lots of fun.
Loved the Doctor and Rogue’s rivalry with gadgets and their spaceships. The Doctor waiting confidently outside as Rogue goes into his “shed”! (I noticed the console on Rogue’s ship also had a hexagonal design – coincidence?).
I like the TARDIS’s new…[Read more]

Large parts of 73 yards do not bear logical analysis… part of what makes the story so scary. Of course there are issues with scary. The Hamlet test: the ghost ain’t supposed to make you titter; you are permitted to experience fridge logic, but this is my point. Reckon nobody knows…

Wasn’t sure if I missed something about Marti?… why was she scared of him (and why did she stay?)
I think the implication is that ap Gwillam sexually coerced/ abused Marti Bridges. He creepily insisted she (a mere volunteer in the hierarchy – so a massive power gap between them) be invited to his celebration party (but no other “low lev…[Read more]

The inability of the ambulance AI to identify Ruby’s next of kin was clearly supposed to be significant, and not simply down to the fact that she had just arrived on the planet and the information was lacking in their records. In fact, since the ambulance was able to identify her date of birth and calculate the years th…[Read more]

@Craig a bottle episode, indeed, and this is something I have noticed in the new RTD Who. Bigger budgets, but yet, I don’t think it’s affected the contents. And this is a big example of it, it could easily have just been filmed in the BBC sci-fi quarry without making any real difference. And this I think is a good thing – the effects budget is…[Read more]

Lots of mad theories already, and that’s great. On the Devil’s Chord thread I postulated that the whole season might be based in a Mind Robber-like Land of Fiction; this would help explain some of the anachronisms.
Who-oof! That’s a thought and a half!

Mudlark replied to the topic The Devil’s Chord
As so often, I’m late to the party, but for what it’s worth I thought this episode an improvement on the Space Babies and on the whole I enjoyed it. The basic concept had a lot of potential, but it was as if RTD, having seized on a good idea, never developed it so far as to explore all the implications. As @cookgroom @miapatrick and @juniperfish…[Read more]

@cookgroom yes a more logical plot might have been they turn up at Abbey Road, it’s not a recording studio any more or if it is the Beatles certainly aren’t there and then they track them down and… the way they did it is more logistically handy. You’ve got a location to base it around, a famous piano etc but it’s not entirely clear why people…[Read more]
