@countscarlioni @whisht @mersey
Thanks for all the prints and images! It occurred to me that last week we had Diagon Alley
and this week we saw Hogwarts when the stair cases move around. I’m sure the Potter fans
loved that!
I’ve been also thinking about Clara being always in his head. She is his conscience.
Thanks! Still not sure. The point about whether R. can still regenerate ? so it maybe just be
some new Lord Pres with his special toys?
29 November 2015 at 20:41 #48237I don’t see any sign of Rassilon only Lord President so what happened to him between
‘End of Time” and the present? Lots of time lords in pictures from the above post
but Rassilon isn’t going to be seen standing along with other Time lords is he? Won’t
he always be out in front of them.
29 November 2015 at 20:24 #48234didn’t see Ashildr/Me but she is in it and she has the key to the Tardis!
29 November 2015 at 19:21 #48232I’ve have decided that all of the events of this story occurred in the Doctor’s mind.
Therefore there is no clone(s). This was an abstract prison that the Time lords
were hoping to capitalize on Inside the Doctor’s mind it seemed like an eternity but
the whole sequence of events could have been seconds. He alluded to that when diving into
the water. However, he did break out of the illusion and now we will be seeing repercussions
but I don’t think there will be many resolutions. I always thought that the dial was going to be
a pivotal point but truly didn’t imagine it would play out the way it did. I wonder if he will
put it in his box of useless things in the Tardis now or what becomes of it?
29 November 2015 at 18:38 #48226So can we agree that the Doctor would never create this confession dial for himself.
So how did he come into possession of it? The first time I can recall seeing it is when
he handed it over in the prologue to the sister. I’m curious about all of that part of the story.
Thanks for the Bird explanation 🙂
29 November 2015 at 18:25 #48223This is some back round from Doctor Who novelizations that I’m sure SM has read.
This Tumbler blogger made a summation that gives 1 possible history of how the
Doctor can be the human/time lord hybrid. He did an outstanding detailed job of it.
If we are to believe this is so then it can seem plausible.
(I’m putting it here on spoilers just to be safe 🙂 )
29 November 2015 at 04:46 #48147OK so someone I follow on Tumbler said he though the Time lord in this other BBC trailer
has the face of the Tennant Doctor?
29 November 2015 at 04:36 #48143@puroandson
Yes! Agreed about the Moff and his really great story arcs and excellent stuff Mr. M!
29 November 2015 at 04:33 #48140@puroandson
If he left the confession dial with Me then how is it he is holding it in his hand at the end
of this episode? I did like how he fell back into his comfort zone which was having
Clara and the Tardis aka his mind when he needed his ‘deliberations’ . That’s how he managed
his sanity.
29 November 2015 at 03:51 #48130Can Bird refer to the Raven that took Clara? To remind himself he was going to ‘win’
over imprisonment in this trap for her?
29 November 2015 at 03:43 #48128PS great sets too! and how was this confession dial an access to Galifrey?
I liked the metaphor of breaking thru the time wall ? Time lord tech using the
confession dial to travel back to Galifrey. Wonder if ‘They’ just wanted to
use the dial to exile the Doctor? If so it didn’t work out really well.
29 November 2015 at 03:25 #48124WHOA! My kind of episode! I had a feeling about the confession dial but I didn’t think
he would take that trip into it. He went thru trials for billion of years and I don’t think it was
driven by his fear. Fear was just the companion. Clara told him that in Listen ( in the barn).
I think he was driven by overwhelming grief for Clara. He mentions grief when he was sitting
at the table. Got lots of questions. But this was truly lovely. My favorite since Listen. The
Beethoven was terrific. Bird? Hybrid?? If he is the hybrid then hybrid of what? If he is
part human then is 1 of his hearts human and the other galifreyan? I remember in an Amy/11
episode she was able to use the shock box to revive him so was that a hint? Where is his confession
dial now? A few answers turn into so many more questions!
28 November 2015 at 22:59 #48090I sometimes liked watching the show for Capaldi or Coleman but not always.
You haven’t been alone. Its all about the stories and the supporting characters
and the ongoing mysteries for me . Haven’t felt especially drawn by a lot of
the seasons episodes but they were all good and a few very good. But I watch
the show for the big arc story in particular. I agree that they are both good actors
but I didn’t care much about that particularly . Its rare that I feel chemistry with
screen characters, doesn’t happen a lot. I find that if I substitute a different
actor in a role then sometimes it becomes better in a weird way in my head.. It looks
like there will be some arc puzzle pieces imbedded in the next few episodes so that means
I’m watching . BTW, I liked, Davros, Missy, River , Ohila, Rigsy and some others in supporting
parts..
But if you cant watch the show because of dissatisfaction with one part think about all the other
parts that you like and I enjoy reading your posts after the episodes. 🙂
28 November 2015 at 18:03 #48023WARNING ! big spoiler picture
looks like this is gonna be all kinds of fun!!!!
27 November 2015 at 22:32 #47996We had some horrible fires in California this year and I commiserate about how that feels.
We have friends in the foothills that barely skirted the flames but their neighbors weren’t
able too.. This is the new normal in our areas. Both of us share very similar climates
and conditions. But it is truly a great climate despite the fire danger! I follow on FB many
garden sites and I have a few that are from the Adelaide area including your gorgeous botanic garden.
@puroandson
Son drew the lucky hand in parents. 🙂 so you iron socks??
27 November 2015 at 22:06 #47995I like your thinking too! Haven’t been taking the Daleks into consideration much recently
however it seems to me that Tasha Lem turned into a interesting Human/Dalek hybrid.
Also we saw that same sort of hybrid in Asylum of the Daleks along with Clara’s pathweb.
That episode had a lot of pivotal moments IMHO. So if the “Lem” version indeed is the ‘foretold’ hybrid
then at least to my mind there will be good and bad ones and everything in between.
Doctor Who is always all about that ying and yang. That’s where most of the sparkage comes from.
I wonder if that could be a way that SM messes around with the mythology? He did say something
about that. But there are countless ways he could do that of course.
27 November 2015 at 04:06 #47966Hi
Finally kicking back after a day of running around being the gracious hostess and eating and
eating on Turkey day in California. Now the others are drinking and still feasting but I reached
critical mass with all that. There is an unending discussion on current events and it has defeated
me. So I’ve surrendered to a comfy chair at the Fox Inn catching up on posts that I haven’t read in weeks.
Wonderful postings from everyone! Particularly enjoyed BoyLion’s contributions. 🙂
Anyway, I cant begin to tell you all how nice it is to sit here now posting in the presence of other
people and not feel like I have to interact! Its helping me not dread the noise level. I get sensory
issues about these chaotic events. But I did really enjoy the cooking and the feeding parts and I’ll enjoy
the sleeping part tonight. So thanks for letting me drop in for a quick ramble.
Well time to get back into it . See you later
26 November 2015 at 21:09 #47941I’ve also been thinking about the confession dial and when it was pointed out the
similarity between the Silence and Veil ‘hands’ and the point you make about
the Silence taking confessions I realized that Heaven Sent might to some extent be
to discover the intent of the dial too. Odd thing is that when he thought he might
die on Trenzalore he didn’t try to leave anyone a confession dial. In any case, the fact
that he gave it to Missy suggests to me that it might be something to control Missy
if the Doctor were to die and leave her alone by herself to create havoc in the Universe.
I think Missy might want to know how so she can stop it.
26 November 2015 at 02:31 #47896https://www.tumblr.com/dashboard
this pic has been popping up today (hope it pastes ok) interesting!!
they can all be seen on Dailymotion
26 November 2015 at 02:09 #47889I would never doubt that Missy has her own agenda. But in order to achieve it she
has to make her way thru the TL’s agenda as well. How else does she get access to all that
TL tech? The Matrix, the Trap st. tech, etc. So it occurs to me that if she ‘can get her
friend back’ then maybe together she thinks ‘they’ can resolve some of these TL issues
because she cant get there on her own? I also wondered if Missy was a download because
she doesn’t seem to have the headaches anymore. Not sure. But I do think she wants
to get the Doctor to help her.
26 November 2015 at 01:38 #47883Also, always thought Missy went thru the time crack when the Doctor was given his new
regenerations. It all began then. The confession dial is interesting. I still will suggest
it is not that. It is some other device that only looks like a dial. That is why he was asked to
leave it behind. The scene in the trailer where the Doctor digs the hole is curious. Is it to bury
someone/thing or to dig something out?
26 November 2015 at 01:21 #47881If ‘Raven” has been Missy’s plan I think it worked. It seems it was SM’s plan
to have Clara come to this end all along. In other words to get the Doctor so angry that
he might be in just the right mood for a manipulation. I think Heaven Sent may take
place in Missy’s Tardis. The veil will be a creature useful in the way Ashildr had
a useful purpose to Missy’s plan as only a functionary for her . The clue was
the cuff. Missy told Clara that cuff story and then she made certain that it would
detach from the Doctor after he teleported in this instance. So she knew how to work
out all of this plan to bring him along into this place now. I also think the hybrid
thing is sort of beside the point. I think the point is really to get the Doctor to have
the right amount of anger so that he will want to have a word with some Time Lords.
She used whoever she needed to use to achieve that. The psychic alien said ‘she is scared’.
She to my mind is Missy.
25 November 2015 at 21:54 #47868My bonkers theory is that the next companion should be brilliant baby! He already
invited her onto the Tardis and admitted she is distracting (but in a good way)
Although, well- ok maybe not the very next one. I also like the idea of Rigsy
BTW- Gave the name of a very good Deli in LA to Lizzy 🙂
25 November 2015 at 19:58 #4786124 November 2015 at 22:42 #47760http://tempus-aeterna.tumblr.com/
I just had to share this guy’s bonkerizing . He has some great notions about
the Doctors first wife and finds ways to connect her to Clara, Susan ,time lords
etc. I found it a interesting read.
24 November 2015 at 22:32 #47759An Australian experience
24 November 2015 at 20:29 #47757After reading your Clara comments I think there is something about her addiction
to the adrenaline rush (although not different but much more intense then previous
companions) combined also with the her almost ‘autistic’ cravings for control as
a total response to Cap Doc. What I make of it is that with Matt Doc she was in fact
more cautious but with Cap Doc in so many ways was opposite. Also I believe the
former new how to make her feel groundedness and the Cap Doc gave her issues.
That is what set the tone for me. But she went out with grace.
I like the word tendrils. Both snakes and tendrils coil and clasp.
24 November 2015 at 03:36 #4768724 November 2015 at 03:29 #47686Also been thinking the sonic glasses are a clue. Both devices are new tools.
I thought that the purpose of the sonics was to try to detect something and
then the dial’s purpose was related. BTW, it only looks like a confession dial
in the way the Tardis looks like a phone box don’t you think?
24 November 2015 at 01:22 #47677http://blogtorwho.blogspot.co.uk/2015/11/doctor-who-series-9-heaven-sent-image.html
some intriguing new released pics
23 November 2015 at 22:44 #47676I’ve been trying to find who posted the comment about Ashildr having the hormone
rush of a young adult but also you can probably include the fact that the chip was
taken from an alien race that relied and fed on hormones. That’s a complicated recipe for
sustaining a centered perspective. That’s the reason that she gets triggered
into grievous conduct. She does show adoration for the Doctor but she also has
an issue of channeling what gave those Mire the warrior spirit
23 November 2015 at 22:01 #47669A few thoughts – loved everyone’s ideas a lot and the tarot match ups are very interesting.
Totally agree about Jack. He owned that part and he made it special for me too
I think that ignorant is when you are not completely informed but stupid is when you are
informed but still makes bad choices. But there was misdirection in this all over this.
In several ways and one big way was in wondering if Clara made some rash decision because
before entering the street the Doctor got Me’s assurance that she would be kept safe? So
essentially Clara was thinking she could make a Doctor choice? So I will give Clara the benefit
of my doubt. So when I say she didn’t have a death wish its because I think she truly understood
the ‘truth and the consequences’ she faced and realized that there would be no use in struggling.
@pedant
With you that Clara’s story will have some future bits filled in.
The way the two raven victims died reminded me a little of Seb asking Danny if he was cremated
It seems similar cause of the concept of choosing how you want to end your life being a ‘thing’ a gain.23 November 2015 at 03:41 #47580I’ve been thinking about the white light also being significant. I want
to think it has something to do with all the alien stuff Clara picked up thru
her time with the Doctor. I wouldn’t be surprised to see something about this
turn up in the future. It really seems like SM wanted to differentiate the
way Clara was taken and the way the raven took the other victim. I think it has
to be showing there was something special about her but the question is what?
I’d love to see that it was the beginning of as you put it ‘initiating something’!23 November 2015 at 01:23 #47574How did Ashildr/Me know to say to the Doctor in ‘The Woman Who Lived’ that Clara
would die on him and also! blow away like a puff of smoke? Now isn’t that a bit
weird? Anachronisms!23 November 2015 at 01:10 #47573Saw this and someone in the comments below said Death Zone. So I checked up on that to fix my memory
http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Death_Zone
So maybe the Doctor was sent to the Death Zone to be pitted against the hybrid and that room that looks
a bit like a Tardis control room might be Rassilon’s control room?23 November 2015 at 00:21 #47572Now that you mention it yes! The cracks in time from when the Tardis exploded.
When Galifrey was moved there was also a very huge explosion. Also TenDoc traveled back and forth a few times to Pete’s World in those Cybermen
episodes thru some sort of rift thing. Its sort of a old theme and I can imagine it as a possibility.
23 November 2015 at 00:00 #47569Regarding my previous post about Clara as a protector guardian by sacrificing
herself she did say to the Doctor that by dying then “no one else would have
have to suffer”.
So yeah, she faced the Raven as the Clara version of the Doctor.
But even if she doesn’t morph into something else I don’t think she died because she
had some suicidal death wish. It was to my mind cause she just realized all along that she’d
get caught eventually running with the Doctor, her addiction.
Its just that in recent Who times dead isn’t dead. So, where did Clara’s soul end up?22 November 2015 at 23:41 #47564So we know from the synopsis of the next episodes that in some way the Time Lords are
back in the story. I think the next episode will be the Doctor as warrior being
tested against the Hybrid. I wonder if that might still have something to do with
Clara still?
@mudlark
I do see what your getting at. My thought is that the time lock is maybe leaking?
Sort of like a cup of soup could when it gets set down on top of a pointy pokey stick?22 November 2015 at 20:53 #47548I’m thinking of the white light from Clara is possibly a form of protection
against the black smoke raven monster? Maybe its a way of her ending as the Doctor
and saving future victims against the ravens death? Like a guardian or a barrier. Well
its all possible in Dr. Who. I could see it as part of her hybrid evolution too. Maybe she
can now become some other apparitions? In any case, feels fitting that she becomes part of
the Raven as it has nice symmetry with Ravenwood that was at the beginning of her arc.22 November 2015 at 18:29 #4753822 November 2015 at 18:24 #47537@Lewis
Yes, I agree with your post too. Clara the Nanny/caretaker of the Doctor. She
was born not only to be the impossible girl but also with strong instinctual gifts to be a
nanny which made her perfectly suited to be this Doctors companion. She was that from the time
he was a small boy telling him his fear was also a companion. He helped him grow into
the good Doctor again in spite of his doubts. Isn’t that the tradition in nobility that children
are raised and taught life lessons by their nannies? Interestingly, Me needed a Nanny too!
She does seem to be weak in her judgments despite her great age. I found it also interesting
that she was in the of position town sheriff/judge. Is that called compensation? And ‘They’
are taking advantage of that weakness.I thought the good cop bad cop scene was disturbing too. It felt as if Clara was taking
too much on and the Doctor was allowing that. I imagine he’ll be blaming himself for
her demise given that he allowed her too much rope. Also love your sentiment about the
song in the jukebox diner! Maybe in the music blog we can post some ideas about a song
the Doctor might play for her? Maybe something Adele-ish? I have to still get her new
music that just came out. She writes good tunes that are the type that might fit- maybe?
Was it you or someone else that said that the Doctor showed up with angry eyebrows with
the other Doctors to hide Galifrey. It kind of makes sense if it happened just after
Clara’s death in his time line and was seeking revenge from them for her. @geoffers
Yes. Watching her die has to compound a very profound heartsickness!I noticed the difference between the 2 raven deaths too. As if they were trying to make
distinctions between them and I also noticed that light that came from Clara. To me that
implies a revisit from Clara. I was wondering also about the black smoke as a possible
reference in some mythological sense? I remember in the series ‘Lost’ they used the black
smoke monster to take people too in a bunch of episodes.22 November 2015 at 06:03 #47480We still haven’t seen Clara in the waitress outfit at the Diner. Wonder if that’s
a claricle? Cant imagine its Clara along her time line? How would that work?22 November 2015 at 05:13 #47477Quantum shade? It looked like dark magic to me. Could be death and could
be some dark (shade) time (quantum) magic. Maybe dark Time lord magic. Could be
that her soul got trapped by Missy and she might not be in a nice place now.
Or maybe a place like we have seen previously. I’m thinking she might be having
her tea with Missy now. Wasn’t there also something said about promising the shade
souls? Missy was doing something a lot like that in Deep Breath.@phaseshift Super cool plug in the Guardian! Very nice sir!
22 November 2015 at 00:27 #47461Sarah Dollard’s Tumbler page is ‘carrionlaughing’ for those that wish a peak 🙂
Its not spoilery but it does have some interesting bits of stuff
21 November 2015 at 17:30 #47425I have been wondering and if anyone can explain to me why that if Galifrey is
time locked does that also mean that all of their Tardis are also time and space
locked? I ask because TenDoc found a way to travel to Rose in an alternate
universe 1 more time. So to my mind that would mean the TL’s are not
bound by the time lock and that only the non- time lord Galifryans are.
In which case for these upcoming episodes it shouldn’t be too much a problem
for the Tardis to take the Doctor to Galifrey – right?I just want to thank everyone for all these great ideas! You are all so amazingly
and massively clever!!I’m so ready to face the Raven people! So ready!!
20 November 2015 at 23:11 #47369This is some one’s very interesting video interpretation.
20 November 2015 at 22:33 #47365http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=pants
I have visited the Urban Dictionary on numerous occasions. 🙂
20 November 2015 at 21:44 #47363Yes to both of you! The sonics were to enable the Doctor to try and discover
what’s lurking inside Clara IMHO. And it will be shocking!
Aw geez louise! Feel so impatient to know!!!!!20 November 2015 at 20:44 #47357Is there anyone here that doesn’t think Clara will sacrifice herself to the Raven tomorrow?
20 November 2015 at 20:42 #47356I thought that may have been the purpose of the sonic glasses? To see Clara in some
different way? That said I have only a bit over a day to find out. -
