Somebody snuck it on YouTube. I got to watch before it was flagged. Lol

    I don’t have the words. Bill😭

Missy reacting to her former self was amazing. Michelle is awesome at those little gestures.

I still get the feeling Danny or Rose will pop up somehow. After all, they are two characters severely affected by the cybermen.

I just ended my trial of Britbox. It’s a BBC streaming player for the US and Canada.

I noticed that they blocked random episodes of shows and today it blocked the Tenth Planet.

It wasn’t blocked the other day. It’s very buggy too. Anybody on this side of the pond try it yet?

We can get the Danny Pink thing cleaned up right here Moffat.

I think I speak for everyone when I say that I genuinely want to be shocked to the point I clap at the genius while tossing my Apple TV out the front door. Missy is the Master, no surprise. Missy in the vault, no surprise.

I want we Whovians to literally drop jaw at what happens next. We deserve it.

I apologize in advance if this has been mentioned. I try to read as much into the posts as possible buy you guys write a lot.

    Supernatural has killed off Crowley.

Could Mark Shepherd take a lead role or is he too happy being a support actor? If he was chosen as the Doctor, it would be a push since he is 53 and they have hinted at a younger actor. Mark would be brilliant.

I enjoyed this one a lot! Everything from Bill figuring out the translation abilities of the Tardis to inter dimensional riffs with monsters. Oh and Brian Vernel is back after being eaten on Han Solo’s cargo ship. He’d make a good Doctor. Missy is really twisting the mind of us old whovians though. We have seen thr great lengths the Master has gone to really undermine the Doctor. Personally as I have said before, I’m actually tired of the same old Sherlock/Moriarty over and over. It’s time to move on and give us a new villain. Rassilon is out there and maybe he can step it up a notch and kill the Master for good then become the true dark to the Doctor’s light.

Another thought before I go. The Tardis never refuses the Master. He stole it in Utopia and I think many times in classic Who. The Tardis is connected to all of time and space so she knows the Master has an important role to play.

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Excellent episode! I love the ideas you all keep coming up with. The Doctor is dying of an illness or wound. The Tardis went to get Missy.  Alpha Centairi returns. Lots of serious crazy stuff at once. I have rewatched Jon Simms episodes trying to get an idea of what may come. The scene where he dies and refused regeneration while the Doctor holds him crying. That was the scene that won me on David’s acting. I hope Missy remembers this. I am actually tired of the Master being evil and it would be a fresh idea. Michelle becoming the Doctor? Wow. I expect the return of the Paternasta gang too. I read somewhere that there may be another Paul McGann camio and almost confirmed Tennant one.</p>

The level of acting in this episode went up a notch. Pearl was amazing. I realize the talent we get to see in this show and how the dramatic performances keep mounting.

Peter and Jenna had quite a few memorable speaches and now Pearl has had her chance.

I tried not to overthink this episode and I really enjoyed it more. Michelle is also hot.

@craig sorry my mind is an American arrogance nightmare. I apologize in advance for my lack of tact and appreciation. My ancestry is British and I often step on it’s foundation with false pride. This forum is the only source of intelligence and British fortitude that I know.

The orange face is a McDonald’s toy from the 1980’s I found in my parent’s home after my father passed. I think my sister had it from my best memory. I chose this image because my first exposure to Dr Who was around the time the toy was introduced.

You guys made me laugh so hard.

Oh the Trump reference was awesome. So unlike me to be so bombastic.

I wanted a twist but I guess I have held Steven to the JJ Abrams/ M Knight Shamalan level of brain frying too long. He delivers what is necessary and edgy sci-fi nuts like me have had too much extremism in plot design plowed into our psyche. The story is good and constantly wanting deeper meaning ruins this simplicity.

    Apologies.

    @wolfweed

I am beginning to suspect Nardole has sold out to whoever is in the vault. The Doctor is probably lying about being blind for this very reason. Please don’t let it be the Master in there. We deserve a giant surprise. Maybe David Tennant as the Valeyard. Yep that would blow my mind. I’m still suspicious of the Doctor being the real thing though. He’s been way too cocky for his own good.

Another thing that sticks out for me is Peter’s accent has been stronger this series.

I’m American so the stronger Scott accent is a little harder for me to understand. His accent is as strong as Michelle Gomez’s. Another clue to me that we have been watching the Master having adventures and going back to the vault to brag to the Doctor.

    #57224
    RorySmith @replies

My my what an episode. I was disappointed that we didn’t get the vashta narada but it works.

My Brother-in-law and I both subscribe to the theory that thr Doctor is in the vault. We also think that the Master has been using some almost people plastic to wear a Doctor suit since his physical structure was so unstable. Flashy skeleton to come? Missy was always so confident since her introduction so it is safe to say that she knew everything was coming from her last form. We may see the Doctor regenerating but a with brief flashes of Jon into Missy.

If Moffat truly wanted to go out in style then he would definitely put Eururos in the vault if not Morriarty. We deserve a better ending there too man.

Oh and I can deal with Nardole. I think it adds a layered dynamic to the stories.

Yeah that’s my biggest gripe against Moffat. He leaves broken time lines and plot holes everywhere. I compare him to JJ Abrams often. “Lost” for example. I would love to see him close at least a few holes for us. Sadly this means more Clara but just as a cameo. Jenna is great in “Victoria”.

Random thoughts some of you have probably had.

    Who’s ship spilled the fluid?

Will smart fluid Heather be an unlikely and predictable deus ex machina ally at some convenient time?

Will Bill’s foster mum ever find true love?

Will Orson Pink ever be explained?

Is Sherlock’s sister in the vault?

    RorySmith @replies

I’ve let this stew a few months and I have to point out yet another loose end that could be wrapped up in the future.

The Doctor was installing what on a roof in New York?

A device that could possibly affect distortions in time so the Tardis could return to the stream with Amy and Rory?

Not that it will happen but look how desperate he is to get back to them. He said many times in the last two seasons how he is very persistent. The Mummy episode at the end and especially Heaven sent. I don’t think many people thought of this

This was so special as usual for my family. I had to travel to my Mum’s new house on Christmas in very bad weather which kept us there until Boxing Day. My Sister is a huge Whovian as well as her husband so yet again we got to watch another special.

I watched silence in the library again just to get the loop right. This was so good even though I hated the king hydroflax story.

Blessed New Years to you all.

We can also speculate that not all of Clara’s echoes really are. Did she put the diner there for the Astronaut meeting? It was on the othe side of the hill in Utah. Maybe it just copied that one but why take the tardis sll the way to the US in the other tardis? More for us to waste time speculating? Moffat is our puppet master.

After a rewatch and successfully explaining the hybrid to some others, I now realize something Moffat was telling us. I am a religious person so it was having to see organized religion for what is from another perspective. I belive now that there is no hybrid. The TLs were hair trigger happy over anything the Matrix spews out and this was one. Many people in extreme religious groups would do the same. My lesson is to be careful when learning of prophecy because you may be led into a lie.

On a second note, since the memory wiper was one set for humans, why did it work on the Doctor? Confirmed part human?

I pictured at the end with Me and the Doctor as if they were simply members of this forum hypothesizeing theories as to who or what was the hybrid. Maybe they are. That was a nice poke at us Whovians who spend more time clammering over what could be and not just enjoy it. Guilty here. He has done this avfew times and in interviews pretty much admitted it was intentionaly aimed at us.

My second lesson came from the whole arc of Clara. He obsessed over her since realizing she was Oswin and spent more time trying to figure her out than he should. She was a trap for the Master’s entertainment. Lots of tragic things happened as a result. We are guilty of being too obsessed with many things ourselves and mis out on life’s many joys.

    Snif. 😥

    I’m glad she didn’t become Orson(yet) 😉

I again have to go back to Douglas Adams for content. Restaurant at the end of the Universe vs Tardis diner. To you younger people please go read all of it so that you become as deranged as I. I must rewatch The name of the doctor to get full effect.

I keep picturing the lava things from Journey to the Center; those were essentially dark echoes of the people that were in the Eye of Harmony’s energy field. This is the representation of  another form of the yin and yang separatation. The Valeyard is the Doctor’s but in a different sense. I think Missy had him stored in the matrix until she could catch up to Dr12. Looking back at old episodes, it fits quite well. Dr6 had a good deal to do with that. A voice cameo would be sweet.

The missing scene in this episode is of the dead Clara lying in the street and Me holding her key to the Tardis. Obviously Missy has a plan here and we all know it. My silly question is why has the Tardis seemingly never objected to the Master stealing her away? No good ever came of it.

    #48255
    RorySmith @replies

Oh this hurts my head. So Me is being used by the Missy to conquer Galifrey? And the end of the teaser we see a regeneration? My theory on Clara stands with her being injected with regen energy when she was in the dalek. Jenna might be leaving but Clara stays. Regenerated Clara.

    Watch and see.

Oh and I foolishly forgot the “next time trailer” and just now saw this. What is going on there?

    #48222
    RorySmith @replies

After some deep thought and reading some of your ideas; this Doctor is also the Valeyard. When he got his reset, so did the Valeyard and they have not separated. The 2 billion years of hell were for him to purge and repent any darkness from him that occurred as the Doctor so that he would be the true hybrid of good and evil, yin and yang style. Now all those times he asked if he was a good man make sense; he was clarifying which one he was. This all goes way back as it has been mentioned and fits the cannon. So now we get a balanced Doctor with the past purged and Gallifrey no longer a burden of guilt, wow watch out. The teleport bit hints at a library visit…… 🙂

Two significant things help me on this episode: My clocks were synced to his finger taps and they are load clocks. And I am replaying Monument Valley; the shifting castle in the water was so cool.

I fully expected this to be the inside of the confession dial from the beginning and it being a sort of spiritual prison in which he could redeem some of his wrongs. I felt a touch of the Island from Lost here. I did not get that he did not understand where he was since the dial isn’t a secret thing. I did like the deep metaphor of going the long way round though. The Valeyard is still in my mind though as being a player in the dial’s existence. I am blown away by what he said at the end and at the same time I just always knew it. He is destined to rule Gallifrey and has always been afraid. We get a lot of hints to this with Baker’s visits. I thought of the Queen of Years running from her destiny in Akahtan and it has been a theme many times before. I am assuming the Hybrid he refers to is part human? He has commented about this quite often but we never took it seriously. Cue Timmothy Dalton and his jealousy…….

I smell a Master vs Doctor vs Valeyard on Galifrey conflict. It has been coming.
