@missy Who is employing the Monks? I dare say we shall find out.  Perhaps the Time Lords? No, that’s too bonkers. Daleks?

That’s a good reminder to never forget the Daleks! They do seem to be at least trying to keep tabs on the Doctor, and  told Missy the Doctor had been on Darillium.

  • Oh drat. I was thinking to avoid watching Anne of Green Gables having overdosed on the books as a young teen but if @pedant @winston and @blenkinsopthebrave approve then I have no choice.

@missy I haven’t watched Halycon. Sounds interesting but maybe a bit too soapy for my taste.

I just started watching Last Kingdom again. (last time I lost…[Read more]

you might try “Unforgotten” which also starred Nicola Walker in a police role. It was shown against the River on British TV. Unlike the River, it was also commissioned for a second series.

Depending on your taste in crime programmes, the first series was actually pretty good. I havent seen the second series.

Get the magnifying glass (or use the accessibility settings on your computer). You won’t regret it.

@missy Khaza’dum is a location in Babylon Five, the home of the Shadows who are the big bad in that series. The captain is warned that if he goes there he will die. Of course he goes. The warning wasn’t frivilous, maybe a bit of a clue there from Matheison.

@phaseshift love the photo merge too though I think Servalon had a lot more style. We w…[Read more]

@missy there are a few actors I like and I am gutted that Capaldi is leaving. I don’t think I’ve been this upset about a regeneration since Tom Baker left and my parents had to reassure me that it was OK this new guy was still the Doctor!

And yes, I’m dreading the final episode.

That blue item has been mentioned already in the BBC Spoilers thread, where it belongs.

    Hallelujah, indeed!

we watched a film/series a few years ago (can’t remember what) where a women barged into a house accompanied by several uniformed men. She told the occupants not to worry ‘the dogs’ would clear things up, it was time  they got an outing- or words to that affect.

Was it by any chance this you were thinking of?

@missy  I quoth it, all right; and I too dread ye xmas special (although I think “The Doctor Falls” will be the toughest go for me, Xmas being a calmer, more gentle denouement, perhaps).

After that, all bets are off.  I suspect that the Broadchurch “chums” (wasn’t it only him and one other writer?) were simply too much of a dicey proposition a…[Read more]

@missy  Yes, it’s possible that Missy will be the one to restore the Doctor’s sight, especially since there’s been that fake-out regeneration for him in the trailers.

@winston You make an excellent point, I think.  There is something up with Bill, it has to do with her mum, and I think the penny will drop on that soon.  Does she see gh…[Read more]

@missy well I have a bit of a thing for Richard Armitage who played Lucas so that may explain why I didn’t mind his character 😀

  • Mirime replied to the topic Oxygen

@missy I liked Lucas in Spooks, didn’t like how they chose to kill him off, that whole storyline was ridiculous.

    OK, more ridiculous than normal.

I don’t normally post a link without checking for spoilers first. I didn’t do that with the AMA so that people could join in. Unfortunately, by the time I’d written up the post with the link half the answers were there & it was nearly all over.

Hey @pufferfish, the idea that the Doctor may have spent time traveling elsewhere between those last two scenes in “The Pilot” isn’t farfetched — or unprecedented.  The idea floated that the Ninth Doctor had a much longer life than depicted on screen was the basis for the short story “The Beast of Babylon” (from the 50th anniversary…[Read more]

@kharis  So, enjoy my latest craziest “person in the vault playing Fur Elise” theory and please come up theories even more insane then this one.

Trying, really trying, but — love it just the way you put it!  Ah, there we are — Alan Moore!

None of the people I can think of, would be thrilled about children being eaten.

I don’t think it’s essential that they’re happy about children being eaten. Their interest is in a new story about children being eaten- possibly with the presumption of a happy ending, as the Doctor is choosing to tell the story. I enjoyed this story, but to…[Read more]

I’m pretty sure that I didn’t reply to your comments on technology. I can usually sort out problems with my computer, but setting up a WiFi connection between my new printer and the computer probably marks the limit of my current technical expertise so I’m not the best person to give advice on matters of that sort.
