The Brig got his salute and Danny became Field Marshal of the Dead, two Cybermen with feelings, this opens up a who(le) new can of Cyberw(who)opeass, pity he didn’t shoot five rounds rapid 😉

Bow ties are cool but the Masteress doesn’t like chic obviously

Missy Poppins in a graveyard of death, her magic a miracle to tempt the Doctor into becoming her, truly a scheme of the Master/Missy

My bonkers-neuron which is firing five rounds rapid for the Christmas Special……. Are we going to have a thread for that?????? I will not post them till our Lords and Masters(Missys) say where they want such musings placed

Yesterday the boss and I went to Wyntercon in Eastbourne….. now we do medieval reenactment so are not strangers to weird, stood us in good stead 😀

We saw Potterverse goblins, wands, steampunk, Darth Vader and The Green Cross Code Man, zombies, graphic novels being created and much more, a eye poppingly interesting day. Not forgetting Richard and Tina’s (friends from the medieval world)  jewellery stand The Unfound Door where we picked up the boss’s new emerald ring

However we stumbled across three Daleks and a Tardis where for a fee you could have your photo taken…… a nip back to The Unfound Door  where two swords and a buckler were borrowed and voilà a picture of two loons attacking three Daleks, my day was complete,  will see if I cam upload to the site later

Well, that was bloomin’ awesome

Clara is puzzling just like this site over the series too from her post it notes, lol moment

She was really reaching out to Danny when the accident happened and her reactions were brilliant (the writing and the acting)

Time passed and she withdrew into a bubble of self defence, a grief so huge she would do anything to get her Danny back

Moff was trolling big time (Clara post-it notes, Doctor as Jesus the betrayal speech, Master to Missy, the hate/love/hate/love relationship between the Master/Missy and Doctor) I seem to remember in the BG run the Master going for additional sets of regenerations and the Doctor explaining how even though it was possible it can destabalise Timelords, which to me explains the Missy’s/Master’s recent (PG) exuberance

The concept of self emotion deleting Cybermen is awesome (ie Moff can use that to stop the emotion suppressed chip blow up thing)

The other thing is (from my optimistic view) is that the Nethersphere is populated, which surely shows many people have not deleted emotional pain and thus not unintentionally joined the Cybermen

And using one of @purofilion ‘s spare other hands 😉 my other other thing is I really liked the upgrading Cybermen it makes them so much more threatening

Off to Wyntercon in Eastbourne today where apparently you can shot some Daleks!!!! 😮

I agree with you the series has gone as dark as Who can given it’s in built family show parameters.

Children of Earth was superbly datk but that was Torchwood

The Tardis in siege mode looks very like the Pandorica don’t ya think???? (@ScaryB I think you mentioned this first???)

The lying to Danny thing is (in my opinion, and thereby fueled by an intense arabica coffee) is all related to definition of being pushed too far, Clara’s perception of how Danny would perceive “too far” is not necessarily what Danny would see as “too far” hence her lying to him. She will know when the Doctor pushes her too far and that will be the acid test. Will Danny come to help at that point or not.

If we create a graph (by we I mean @bluesqueakpip ) the above concept still doesn’t make sense 😉

When released from this eternal cycle by the Dr the mummy saluted as a thank you

Great analysis,  I think you touched on an atribute that has a bearing on the current Doctor/Danny  ‘thing’ when Rusty says he’d make a GOOD Dalek it also is a throwback to the War Doctor he was a superb soldier/warrior who I guess also dug wells (did proper Doctor stuff in his own eyes) whilst being at war. So Danny and the Doctor are cut of the same cloth

Secondly the Doctor first came across Courteney when she reported a spillage in geography and at the end when he was explaining the geography of the universe to her there was another spillage ….. I chuckled at the time thinking ohh look another timeloop

I think the ” it’s a start” comment was exactly the same as “I thought that went well” which is an acceptance that Dan did well but I’ll admit that in a real geezer way, in my work this is exactly how we communicate ( usually with more post watershed language) Both Clara and the Doctor having worked together for so long will naturally use a sarcastic begrudging statement to show approval and understand it as so. Also in all probability Dan would too.

@Bluesqeakpip there’s a rude joke about the difference between theorist scientists and engineers explaining why engineers actually are more positive and get things done 🙂

@scaryb (I think) the mud is dry and rather powdery/dusty at the moment and the 50 tonne ADT’s (articulated dump trucks) send gurt clouds of it everywhere,  even with dust suppression measures………. but the coffee is good 😀

I think you have seen a different aspect in the Doctor v Danny argument and I have to disagree with you, with a smile though not a growl 🙂

The start of the adventure shows Clara living two lives whilst her two men fight over her time, one knowingly and one seeking the knowledge of what else is going on. Both love her but in far far different ways. The Doctor as her “Space (grand)Father” and Danny as her boyfriend.

Danny identifies the Doctor as as Patrician officer not a rupert but more of great leader, that makes him dangerous as his troops will attempt the impossible for him, and that is what worries him so much for Clara.

Davros stated the exact same thing to 10 too

@nearly everyone else great episode will not have another chance to re-watch…….

(casts envious looks at those who get the chance, murmours darkly about bloomin’ 3G coverage or lack of it whilst working away from home 6 days a week, grumble grumble mutter mutter)

Ok all three things, well maybe two or four depending how this posy goes, must use punctuation.

Thirdly, beat that for a date, a dad or grandad sort of comment. By which I mean the Doctor isn’t being possessive he is being protective. If the date can compete then he is worthy

The Clara shaking device when being scanned by the Teller or Soupdragon may be showing that multiple Claras were being mind probed

Lastly the Doctor as the Architect provided teleports to save his fellow thieves from desth then it is also a reasonable hypotheses that the two previous good soldiers ( those who willingly sacrifice themselves to save others)  were teleported to Missy.

@midnyt Clara is a great companion,  sacrificing herself three times on screen for the Doctors and probably many many times over off screen, she has to be mentally strong and thus a member of the awkward squad to resist Dalekisation etc which will make her not easily likeable 🙂

As to scaring off the newbies I think our current Doctor with his accent and eyebrows would at times raise them in wry amusement “I want that coat!!!!!” Hehehe

Ok where to begin…….

Bank Holiday Weekend was a little bit of time travelling to the 15th c at Herstmonceux which on Monday was the wettest place in GB especially when camping.

Tuesday was unpacking drying tentage and de-rusting armour and eventually watching Dr Who yippee.

I felt a little underwhelmed and haven’t had a chance to re-watch as I’m up on site struggling with signal and mud.

I’ve read the Gruniard review and mused a while and today whilst sitting in my little box (sadly not the bluest blue) then I’ve read with interest all the postings here and drunk coffee (gallons of it) so apologies for what comes next (also apologies for what someone said earlier doing what we don’t do a stream of timeywimey interconnected separate thoughts).

Clara is The Claricle surely having dived into the complete timestream of the Doctor???? Or was she split assunder inside the Doctor’s vortex, if so how did he find her? So Clara is yet another Claricle and her mother is The Original Clara and Old Mary Poppins

Old Mary Poppins set up as the Big Bad for the story arc, just as Bad Wolf was, both turn out to be good and a mixture of ordinary and TARDIS hence Boyfriend

Heaven is modernly thought of as a place for the good souls to go, not sure harvesting bodywork is deemed that way but the Doctor has saved souls to the ethereal plane before River to CAL which maybe TMF and River/Tasha perhaps one coffee too many

Anyway on reflection bloody fantastic start to the series
